It would be interesting to hear what Littlefinger has to say concerning these allegations of Christian genocide in the North. He is in the best position to disabuse the US of such thoughts.

Heaven can hold the LCB down. Shaw still has a good football brain for LWB and will work well with Cunha. the big question though is if he still has the bones.
The answer is that he does not. All of you people suggesting that Shaw be played at LWB are pushing him to where he does not know.

lol.. So because am blaming Amad for that first goal I " no dey watch our match" .. grin. no wahala sir
But you didn't just blame Amad for the goal. What you said was that Amad was not working as a WB. It is like saying Saliba is not working at CB because Arsenal conceded a goal from his error or that Haaland is not working at CF because he missed a big chance. You shouldn't compress the overall performance of a player for the season into just one instant.

Like you said, no wahala.

Giving Amad defensive role is reducing his attacking prowress.Yes LWB has its problem but Amad caused that first goal by not marking the NF header properly.let c how January buy will b.Anyway barring injuries we are making top 4.
Goals will always be conceded. No defence has ever gone a whole season without conceding a goal. That goal does not negate all the other positives playing Amad at WB brings.

Of all the things we have tried this season, Amad at RWB supporting Mbeumo is one of the few things that appears to be working so far. It is very strange for you to be saying it is not working because of a single goal (a goal that really came from Dalot's wing as well).

We suddenly became better after they scored the second. But Sesko was just not good enough up front today if we are being honest. Cunha was still showboating as we were losing. We eqaulised at 81 mins, if he had brought on mount and Maguire(for corners and Fk), we would have won the game. Although Amad nearly won it, their defender cleared off the line in the last minute
Na 2 steps forward and 2 steps back. That means i was right about the attitude being all wrong. They stepped up only when it looked like they would lose the game. They went there to win with as little effort as possible instead of coming with the determination to make a statement.

Make e no be like say Cunha is being targeted, but he is focusing on frills over substance.

Befuddling considering Sesko was rubbish in this game and Cunha was taking the piss in the entire second half
I watched only 5 mins of the 2nd half. I would like to hear his reason for that. My suspicion is that the god of panic seized his brain also and he was coaching not to lose badly rather than coaching to win. Many of them (coaches and players) are not built for the pressure that comes with being at United.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 6:30pm On Nov 01, 2025

Its not much of a panic. Dalot was just useless as usual for that second goal. And we didnt deal with the aerial threat well. Thats the reason why Amorim starts Maguire at times because he can deal with aerial ball better. We honestly need to solidify our defence, i just dont see how we will not concede against any team.
It was panic. What panic leads to is carelessness, bad decisions, and lack of attention to detail. They should not have been in that position to cross that ball so soon after the first goal.

They have done this too many times over the years for us not to recognise it when it happens. Like when we gifted Chelshit 3 goals at the end of a game that we were winning.

When Amad equalised, I was expecting him to pull out Sesko for Mount, and Deligt/Shaw for Maguire and try and find a winner. I was shocked heeft thinga that way.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 6:22pm On Nov 01, 2025
It is also criminal on the part of both the players and manager to concede 2 goals in 2 minutes like that. I don't know what we need to do to solve this their panic mode that they activate whenever things go bad for them. They need either a psychologist or a spiritualist.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 6:17pm On Nov 01, 2025
We have a big problem on that left side with Cunha and Dalot. They are the opposite of Mbeumo and Amad.

Dalot can't help Cunha in attack effectively. Cunha can't help Dalot in defence effectively.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 6:12pm On Nov 01, 2025
Immediately we scored our goal Cunha and a few of his guys were trying to play cute football.

The lack of application of the players is on the manager sha. Anybody could have predicted that they would approach this game with this kind of attitude, but he did nothing to prevent it, or whatever he did was ineffective.

I'm wondering though.

With the military culture of premature retirement of senior officers when their juniors are picked as service chiefs, is it still worth it to build a career in the military?

I mean, you go enter NDA early, attend courses and trainings, dey build your career jejely, meritoriously get promoted to Lieutenant General with 10 more years to go before retirement, then a new president is elected, and he picks your junior a Brigadier General, as Chief of Army Staff so you have to be compulsorily retired.

Doesn't that de-incentivize joining the military?

It obviously does not because this is not a new phenomenon. This is actually the generation of generals that is serving for the longest period. Previously, Nigerian generals did not even get to 50 before being retired. Most retired in their 40s and even at least 1 was in his 30s when he retired.

Babangida's era was the first to clock 50 before retirement and most of them barely made it into their 50s. Everybody joining the army knows that the best you can reasonably hope for is to get to 2-star general by 50 and then retire a few years later.

I don't support it because there is a constant loss of institutional knowledge but it is what it is. At least until the threat of military takeover is permanently eradicated from our system.

BlueRayDick:
I think you are right.

Someone who once served in the army told me OBJ hacked it; OBJ during his tenure did major shake-up that has made it quite diffcult for any attempted coup to succeed in Nigeria.

He claimed OBJ being an ex -military man made sure some of the strategic army units that are required to overrun a government are far away from the seat of power. He said some of the major army units like the infantry corps, ordinance , signals, etc are spread apart. So successful coordination of a coup is very very difficult without a third ear hearing about the coup plan.

Also, the fact that most coup always involve not so senior officers like Major, Lt. Colonel, Colonel, etc while senior officers like Generals, Major Generals, Brigadier Generals will either be arrested or killed would always make the senior officer's side with the civilian government. No senior officer wants to either get killed, jailed or have to now start saluting his junior because they successfully carried out a coup.

He said Nigeria is a very big country and not as small as countries like Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, etc where with few officers u can take control of the whole country. You will face serious resistance from whatever command of the military that is not under your control, and the coup will fail in an instant.
Back then Dodan Barracks and Ikeja Cantonment were inordinately significant. Military presence was subsequently decentralized and strategic power was taken away from a single ethnic cohort. For a coup to succeed now i think you need a good number of senior officers to be on board and/or the closest officers to the presidency to be part of the plot.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 8:13am On Oct 31, 2025

Hmmmmmmm

I doubt sha. The coup didn't see any light of day, and no blood was shed.

Looks poorly planned.
Why do you say it was poorly planned?

We don't have enough information yet to assess them.

What people don't realize is that the greater the probability that a coup will succeed if executed, the greater the probability that it will leak out before the execution date.

You need to have a good number of officers in strategic places for it to succeed but conversely as you co-opt more of them into the coup the greater the probability that one of them will leak the plan to the authorities. You can't stage a successful coup with 5 officers. At least not in this day and age.

* Also, nothing stops Russia from being involved in a poorly planned coup. They are far from infallible.
