Roland17: Wetin Oyedepo no go see for American Embassy!
Immobile and Bakayoko whom you just exaggerated are the reasons why you are discrediting Big Rom? I know you don’t like him, it’s not like I am fighting his cause either or care so much about Conte but this? This is low bro!
Question: Did Big Rom fail in EPL? Well, let me help you put his in perspective.
We are talking about a player who scored a whopping 113 goals in 253 appearance with 42 assists in the EPL! That is the player you are comparing to Immobile and Bakayoko, so as to discredit his worth?
A player who scored 13 goals in 19 appearances with 4 assists in the FA Cup in the same English football!
We are talking about a player that ranks 19th all time on the EPL scorers chart! A player who ranks number 1 all time on Belgium’s scorer’s chart with 52 goals!!!!
Like this player did not dominate the EPL,?especially if the argument is that the Serie A is not as competitive as the Serie A where he has continued to do his thing!!!
You guys have moved the goal post from, he does not score week in week out and when he did to He scores against lowly team and when he did against big teams to now, he is only doing it cos it is the Serie A!
For the love of football, I Dey beg una, make una dey fear God oh! Ok. |

Roland17: Before dem go say people forget or say na against low teams him dey score against. #Alhajialert #Jambodymail That is how Serie A god Ciro Immobile went to Germany and Spain consecutively and became Zero Immobile, only to go back to Serie A and become Serie A god Ciro again. Apart from the difference in quality let’s not ignore the difference in styles. Fred explained everything in his recent statement. A loose touch is less likely to be punished in the slower, more tactical Serie A. Heck, even Bakayoko with his rapist’s first touch nearly became a Serie A god there. |

I’m sure he still has panic attack whenever they press him for the ball. He still has the occasional panic mode. His touch has improved but because of his small size and lack of strength he still has has times when he has difficulty beating the press. |

Expert17: NO. But dat won't be the first time he will score below 33 in all competition combined.
*Under Ferguson he mite score dat 60+. *Under Moyes, forget it *Under Van gaal, he will change CR7 position to CM, like he changed Di Maria, depay etc positions *OLE won't even know how to use him.
So his proposed 60+ goals in EPL is relative and dependent on so many things So he would have averaged 60 goals under Fergie ( meaning 4 seasons of 60 goals not 2 seasons like you earlier said). We are getting somewhere. Seems you are still maintaining that he would have averaged 33 goals in all competitions after Fergie. Can you break that into FA cup goals, EPL goals, and European competition goals, please? |

Expert17: He won the world best scoring 42 goals,....
And u dnt expect Ronaldo to be playing FA cup and Carabao cup early stages.... He won the world best, with just 1-2 club career hatrick.....
If Ronaldo manage to score 30 under Moyes, Van gaal and Ole Gunner,... He shud thank God Are you saying he would have been scoring 33 goals in champions league, FA Cup, Champions League combined? From 2009-2018 is the period under discussion. At least 4 of those years would have been under Fergie. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 3:27pm On Feb 07, 2020 |
Expert17: he might score 60+ goals maybe twice......... but the rest will be 40. Laliga defending is not that severe compared to EPL The rest 40 goals? Good. Can you break it down? He averaged 7 goals a season for Portugal in that period. So 40-7 is 33 goals. Which means you are saying Ronaldo would have been scoring 33 goals in EPL, FA Cup, Champions League COMBINED. Is that what you are saying? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 3:10pm On Feb 07, 2020 |
elampiro: If it is Ronaldo, he can see that number of matches played some role. When he scored 46, he was fit throughout the season and played 38 matches. The figures still do not have anything to do with 18 goals he scored at United. That year 2009 he scored only 4 goals in champions league. Scored only 1 goal in 7 games for Portugal. He had a poor year all round, it wasn’t about the EPL. I thought you were a statistician? How can you make a conclusion about a trend based on a single isolated outlier event. |

Expert17: Appearance- 196 Goals- 84 Assists- 34. That's CR7 Statistics in EPL. Scored 1 or 2 Hatricks.
I think is Laliga goals are more dan is appearance. That is not the question. He came to the EPL as a teenager. Do you want to compare teenage Messi’s stats in la liga to 28 yr old Messi’s stats? How many goals in all competitions (for club and country) do you think Ronaldo would have averaged in his peak years in his 20s if he had remained in the EPL considering he averaged 60 goals in Spain? Just give a number. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 2:46pm On Feb 07, 2020 |
Expert17: Ronaldo can't have this same no of goals, had it bn he stayed in EPL...... He averaged 60 goals a year in all competitions while in Spain. How many do you think he would have averaged in all competitions if he stayed in England? |

elrony:
You no see the yeye argument. Ronaldo scored only 4 goals in champions league in 2008-2009 after scoring 8 goals in 2007-2008. He also scored only 2 international goals in 15 games for Portugal. Smart people will connect the dots and realize that Ronaldo had an off year in 2008-2009 whether it was in EPL, Champions League, or for Portugal. Those who are not that smart will look at a single year and plot a graph showing a trend from it. |

eph12: 2011-2012 he scored 46 in la liga, 2012-13 he scored 34 and 31 in 13/14. La liga became tougher those two years, they quickly reduced the toughness so he could score more goals after those two years |

In Madrid, he had team mates who made.life easy. The fact that he could not score 20 goals in 2008/2009 after scoring 31 shows that he would not have maintained it. How many of those players is Ronaldo? |

Hannibal Mejbri played behind the striker. He was fouled consistently. It’s as if he was targeted. Someone got a red card and many picked yellows off him.
Crowd also tried to intimidate him by calling him a ‘shiit Sideshow Bob’
6th round is at home against Wigan. Mejbri has a lot of potential. He is the most complete CM i have seen in our youth set up in a long time. Those Naija boys have stagnated a bit, apart from Mengi whose growth has continued. Just got home, will watch it now. |

elampiro: In 2007/2008...... 42 goals (31 in the EPL) In 2008/2009.......26 goals (18 in the EPL)
You can see he would not have sustained it. 1 year does not signify a trend. The EPL that allowed RVP, Salah, Harry Kane to score 30 goals in one season could not have prevented C. Ronaldo from AVERAGING 30 goals in his peak years. Someone that in his peak years in Madrid scored 105 champions league goals in 101 matches, averaging over 1 goal a game. IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.......with a large percentage of his goals coming in knockout games against tough opposition. |
