TemporaryHansel: Sowore is more honorable than Peter Obi. People who claim they support Obi because they have the betterment of Nigeria in mind, should direct that support to the right person whom is Sowore. I don't know how honourable the guy is but for someone who has always been allegedly campaigning for the common man he has not gained any traction. The first time he was expelled from Uni and arrested for protesting against the government i was either in Primary 6 or JS 1. |

The guy has been arrested and manhandled so many times by different governments even dating back to the era of military regimes and people still claim that he is a government agent. Which of the governments? I think there are far easier ways of collecting egunje from government than to be sleeping in jail every couple of years and perpetually going to court. If he is indeed a government agent i salute his work ethic. |

MRTA7: The total bid submitted for Sesko is 85m Euros including addons. Which is about £74m. And Ekitike cost Liverpool 79m in pounds (or 90m in Euros). |

TrebleChamp: Leipzig was always going demand something big for Sesko, maybe it won't be up to the €80m United is reported to offer if Newcastle hadn't made thier ridiculous €90m bid.. Eikitike cost Liverpool even more (80m Euros plus 10m Euros more in potential add-ons). That is where this transfer window went haywire. Ekitike and Sesko are from the same league with similar stats and similar age. That is what set the standard for Sesko's fee. |

engrelvis: Yet people r saying we don't v the "pull power" again. From report also Baleba want his price cut down so he can come. If Amorim doesn't make top 4 he shud be arrested If we add Sesko and Baleba Top 4 is achievable but we still might not get it as long as we have clowns in goal. INEOS should do one last good thing after these Sesko and Baleba deals by signing a decent GK. Right now, i am thinking we could come 5th. The teams that finished in the Top 4 last season are also buying players to improve their squad. We can make Top 4 if everything clicks but i will wait to see how things develop over the next few months first. Anything lower than 5th would be a major disappointment. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:50pm On Aug 06, 2025 |
It will probably take 80m pounds to minimum to sign Baleba. If we wait a little longer it might even approach 100m and be impossible. Agents Onana and Mbeumo can do the job.
If after getting Sesko we get Baleba in, then Amorim has to make Top 6 and challenge for Top 4. If we get Baleba and a good 1st choice GK then he has to make Top 4 and be close to the top.
We go suffer for AFCON period sha: Mbeumo, Maz, Amad, Baleba. |

TrebleChamp: 😁 Small highlights i saw of him is turning my head, i thought i would get the chance to watch him play for like 20mins on tour but that didn't happen. I think odizeey once said Kone reminded him of Pogba and was attacked for that comments.. He plays with an urgency that we don't have in the midfield. He punches the ball between the lines. He has a narrow turning cycle. He is a good ball carrier. He has a decent passing range. But i don't think he is ready yet. He makes unforced errors. He sometimes disappears in games, and you start wondering if he is playing. He sometimes gets bullied physically. I am sure Oasis likes him even more than you, but he is not shouting for them to play him and not buy an established player. Highlights can be deceiving. It is better we introduce him slowly rather than waste another talent. Mainoo is on the precipice of being wasted here. Like Garnacho. Like Adnan. Even to an extent Rashy. Amad's more patient trajectory is the best way to go about things. |

larride: We watched Hojlund and Ugarte all through last season.
If I have the option of replacing one first, it will always be Hojlund.
I remember telling someone that Oshimen was that expensive, the club was just not interested in him.
If we get Sesko, he better perform for their sakes
If Chelsea waits till the end of the transfer window to offer peanuts. Reject them and send Garnacho back to the bench. In a vacuum, you are 100% right but, in a situation where we have signed Cunha and Mbeumo, the CM become a bit more important. My midfield concerns are not even about Ugarte alone. All of them have flaws. There is no single CM player that i can bank on currently. That CM is a ticking time bomb if we leave it as it is. I hope Sesko does well if we eventually sign him. |

Any time your club wants to buy a player like this guy and AWB who has major technical deficiencies on the ball, but his supporters are talking about his off the ball qualities such as sliding tackles and work rate, your answer should always be NO.
Take it as a golden rule. Those qualities won't work for a top club in a top league. |

Roland17: Professional players shouldn't be trying to get fit or conditioned during the new season because it never works and it increases the likelihood of injuries occurring. Players are supposed to be already fit/ conditioned at the start of the new season. That is what preseason workouts are for. 100%. Preseason is for conditioning and getting match fit not for losing heaps of weight. |

TrebleChamp: We have a Kone we can develop to be a very good DM, but na Baleba, Onana we want. When he joins a French Club and Brighton later sign him for cheap. We know what would happen next... Firstly, he is not joining Brighton or a French club since he is already contracted to us. There are other ways to develop a youth player other than dropping him into the deep end and asking him to be our saviour in central midfield. The most recent players to be treated in that way are Mainoo, Garnacho, Greenwood, Rashford, Adnan Januzaj. We can buy a senior CM who is ready to start and star for us now and still develop Kone by giving him minutes here and there in the league, extended minutes in the cup or loaning him out to a less intense league. |

patrickmuf: Please reveal your true identity. Are you in anyway related to Kone or by any chance, his agent? 😂😂😂 LOL. I tire for the guy. That midfield urgently needs someone that can come in immediately and be a star performer or else we are in big trouble, but he wants us to play Kone to develop him and not get a senior player. The same Kone he says he has only watched highlights of in Under-21 football. We have Obi and will develop him but that didn't stop us from trying to get a senior CF. We have Amass and bought 2 LWBs. Signing a CM does not mean we won't develop Kone. Man City's Under-21 team keeps flogging other teams, yet they buy quality senior players too. |

ChristineC: I don't think his passing is bad. being able to bulldoze through midfield and stop opponents bulldozing through is another quality that is sorely missing in the middle for United. I think he will add something to this team and fits the physical specimen bill Amorim seems to favour in recruitment. also he's the 6.5-7 consistent type of guy problem is, I do t know if he'd be priced fairly by Villa. I'd take him for around £45m.
there's another black guy in that Villa's midfield that has similar qualities to Onana although not as big. 45 wetin? They bought him for 50m and he is just 23yrs old with those physical attributes. They are not selling for less than 70m. I think you are talking about Boubacar Kamara. He was linked with us in 2022 on a free transfer but instead we paid 60m for Casemiro and he joined Villa for free. |

ChristineC: what do you think of Onana? I try not to think of him tbh. . Oh you meant Amadou. LOL Great physical abilities and good ball carrying ability. I am not sure about his passing. I will have to check the stats on that. One thing that i am hoping for is for Mainoo to make the jump this season especially in terms of his passing volume & range and general work rate. If that happens then a player like Onana could work. For now, every single one of our central midfielders is flawed. |

odizeey: Even the Baleba sef go cost pass 100m. Hmmm That is where good scouting and negotiation comes in. Many of us are mentioning Baleba because he the obvious quality midfielder that we see regular. We all have our own jobs to do and families to feed but the club actually employs people whose whole job is to scout for players or negotiate deals. Those are the ones who should either get an affordable Baleba alternative or negotiate Baleba's fee down. |
