Even though I don't live in Nigeria, I believe there is about a 5% that makes big money from these ventures like Club ownership, selling hair, selling wines, sewing clothes, spa, etc and the rest 95% do not make it anywhere close to those

Baba, one of my ex-varsity mate sells these wigs and hair. She travels to meet suppliers abroad ; she goes to Ghana and other western African countries to participate in trade fairs to sell her wares ; she's even had popular celebrities/influencers run adverts for her and I can confirm she's doing well for herself.....

But trust me, despite all the work I know she puts into her hustle if she wakes tomorrow and claims she bought 400m luxury from selling those wigs I will just laugh it off. I will laugh anybody who swallow the lamba.

So you mean person can't aspire to perspire selling wig into buying Tesla Cybertruck? grin

Exactly what Afrodoc said. Letting Sancho rot on the bench also doesnt help us and further reduces our leverage. we were the ones that gave him a huge contract. Now he has a year left on his deal. he can just wait it out and be a free agent next season.
That is his plan. If he does not get his wish this window, he will wait until next season and negotiate a good salary as a free agent with a possible juicy sign on fee as well. The guy is a criminal. cheesy

Baba, the point Raumdeuter was making and which I agree with him on is that as bad as Nigeria police are; their absence is not desirable at all.

In the days that followed the ENDSARS massacre, most policemen downed towns across Lagos state and most communities were on edge. Men formed themselves into vigilante groups keeping watch over their communities for fear of being overrun by criminals in the absence of police. There was serious fear and apprehension across various communities . If u lived in a middle class environment that time, u will understand that fear.

Nigerian police have their various failings o, but they are like the ones holding this our society from descending into total chaos. The typical Nigerian would not even behave well without being compelled to, now imagine the criminals amongst us being given free rein in the absence of police?

And yes, it is our taxes that is being used to fund the police and other security agencies. I know someone personally who had his car stolen at a car wash in Oshodi Lagos and Nigeria police helped him track and recover it around Idi Iroko Ogun state before the thief could cross boarder.
One of the greatest accelerants of total societal collapse is the inability of a government to collect tax and the consequent breakdown of public services.

If everybody should follow the principles of these our wise tax evaders here, what is happening right now in the country will seem like child's play.

As bad as the country is, and as bad as our leaders are, if you decide not to pay tax then you are contributing your own small quota to the destruction of the country.

Remove the name Obi from your head when giving the narratives. Use Bayo if you like and you will see that there's a prejudice hiding somewhere inside of you.

Obi is not a Messiah in the matter. He is a victim of an injustice system. The matter here is land grabbing which we all know happen in Lagos.

No sensible individual will see a land grabbing situation and feel Ok criticising the victim. Unless na winch e be
This is balderdash. You are the one that needs to remove the spirit of tribalism and prejudice that has eaten deep into the very fabric of your soul like a cankerworm. It is like there is a little but powerful voice of prejudice whispering in your head like Gollum that makes you believe my answer would be different if the name was not Obi but Bayo or Tanko.

Not every criticism is based on bias or prejudice. I know you find that hard to believe based on your various utterances on anything political on this thread.

Even while supporting his right to complain and seek redress, i criticized his manner of doing it. He is a political leader and has the ability to inspire tens of thousands to rise up in his defense. He has to be tactful in how he responds to situations, and as a leader keep his emotions in check. He should not respond the way you or i would respond.

Land grabbing happens everywhere in Nigeria not only Lagos and has been happening for decades. It is an abhorrent practice but not indicative of any failing unique to the present government. The issue needs to be investigated, and redress should be sought in court and those responsible, if found guilty, need to be punished accordingly.

We don't as how?
We have players that are unreliable who are on big contracts. We can't force other clubs to buy them. If the clubs insist on testing first by loaning to see how good they are before buying them, we have little choice.

Everybody knows we are desperate to offload these players, so the leverage is with the potential buying club.

From your screenshots, it's very clear Israel did absolutely nothing to Iran, yet the regime has been obsessed with its destruction ever since Ayatollah Khomeini came to power. Not because Israel attacked or occupied them, not because of war crimes or anything...... Why thenhuhhuh

The actual Arab nations that fought Israel in the 1948 and Six-Day War have long moved on, normalized ties, and embraced diplomacy with Israel but Iran, a non-Arab country that wasn’t even directly involved, has made Israel’s erasure a focal point of its foreign policy. Why? Because Israel had the audacity to win a war it didn’t start?

So if you were in Israel’s shoes, surrounded by hostile proxies funded by a regime that openly chants death to Israel while chasing nukes, what exactly would you do?
You won't get any sensible answer to the question of what Israel should do in order to bring peace.

That post you quoted already gives an idea of what the answer is. Very laughable explanation of what Israel did to Iran (nothing by the way). The summary of that post is that Iran is against Israel because of the 1948 establishment of Irael i.e. because Israel exists and also because of the 1967 Arab-Israeli War that led to an Israeli victory.

Egypt that was at the vanguard of anti-Israeli sentiment has since made peace and moved on.

What Iran wants is for Israel to lose an equally embarrassing war and to cease existing. Where is the room for negotiation in that?
That is why all those blaming Israel for the escalation are either ignorant people or ideologically extreme jokers.

By all the tenets that govern diplomacy and war, Iran does not need to be building nuclear weapons for Israel to attack them. All the proxy attacks on Israel are enough reason for Israeli retaliation.

Iwuanyanwu na Old money. Person wey be say in the 80s his football club was called Naze millionaires

He was the Man city and Sheilk Mansoor of Nigerian league with Abiola Babes being the PSG
Yeah.

When Abiola Babes and Leventis were disbanded it was Iwuanyanwu that signed many of those players and dominated the local league scene for during the late 80s and early 90s.

He took Edward Ansah, Andrew Uwe, John Benson, possibly Uwem Ekarika and i believe one more player at least from Leventis. He took Toyin Ayinla and a couple of others from Abiola Babes. He took Oliha from Bendel Insurance. He took Uche Okechukwu and Mike Obiku from Flash Flamingoes.

He also had Peter Nieketien, Friday Ekpo, Mike Obi, Ramson Madu, Samson Ozogula, and one of the big daddy scorers in the local league then, Tony Nwaigwe.

Not for €100m. Ekitike is not worth that.
Marmoush who was their best player moved for 59m pounds.

Ekitike is still young, unproven, has never gotten an international callup, and has never scored more than 15 league goals in his life.

He is not worth more than 50m pounds and that is even a stretch. I don't even think we should go for a developmental striker right after the Hojlund experience.

......The security crisis in Benue ain't primarily about herdsmen killing farmers rather its more of communal clashes, ethnic cleansing or superiority. It is more political than religious and far more complex than many understand.

President Tinubu should declare a state of emergency in the state, but without removing the Governor or launching a full-scale offensive against the perpetrators, as this approach alone will not fully resolve the problem.

Both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches are required. While the Idomas and Tivs are major players, over 100 other tribes in the state are also involved.

I suggest carving out a new state for the Idomas and some minor ethnic groups as part of the solution.
Which ethnic groups are attacking each other? I mean these main clashes we are seeing are between which ethnic groups?

Isn't that going to mean direct involvement of US in the war? Sure it is and it is what the Israelis want.
Yes. Israel always wants more and more US involvement definitely. I was just addressing your claim that they have the bombs to effectively decimate those sites. They really don't have the bombs for some of the sites because of the depth and reinforcement.

To do a good job they need the US bombs. It just so happens that it would also mean more direct US involvement. Netanyahu is a devious fanatic and does not mind all-out war in order to cripple Iran and force regime change over there. That is his end game. He does not want peace or any yeye treaty. He is thinking of 10-20 years ahead when a strong man like him might not be in charge of Israel again.

Israel wants America to get directly involved but Iran has not attacked any American military base, so the US at this point have no basis to get directly involved.
The Fordow nuclear enrichment facility is about 80m underground. The most powerful Israeli bombs are 1.6-1.8 tons in size and can't get to that depth to good effect. This is why the Israelis want the US to send their B-2 bombers which have superior stealth and also carry 14-ton bombs which can penetrate to the Fordow facility level.

LordAdam don lose guard. All these self-proclaimed war analysts need to put that Wike track on repeat – "if e no dey, e no dey."
The lack of retaliation from Iran so far says it all – even they know water don pass garri.

What really cracks me up is seeing Okpa and Sean now throwing subtle jabs at Iran and slowly backing away. So let me guess – if Russia ever gets clobbered or fumbles hard, they'll jump ship too? It’s becoming clear that many of these "Russia stans" never really stood for anything - they just got swept up in the power hype.
Meanwhile, most people who support the U.S. often do so based on ideology or governance, not just brute force. But when it comes to Russia, China, or Iran, it’s always about the “perceived power.” That’s not loyalty – that’s gold-digging geopolitics. I won’t be taking any of them seriously ever again.
Call it what it is. They are fair-weather stans.
