He is doing as well as can be expected, 1 goal 2 assists in all competitions. He has Messi's talent level though, just that his team mates can't convert his passes or give him good passes to convert.

Rodrygo has 6 goals and 2 assists though, and struggling Vinicius has 2 goals 1 assist. Both of them have played less minutes than the Chelsea legend though, so something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark.

I always felt it was not necessary when the rumors of our interest came up. I went to watch his Crystal Palace clips and raised my concerns about his lack of ability going forward, but they said it was cos he played for Palace. Now they say he will soon develop attacking ability......at 22.

The club is not well organized so its difficult to predict, but i won't be surprised if both Williams and Laird are more complete than him in 2 years.

Wan Bissaka is still developing, this guy is 22 which is still embryo stage for his position.
in recent games he's been trying to have a mind of his own in attack and I believe with overall better cohesion in their team play, it will improve.
I think his limitations right now is not lost on the coaching crew and he's going to be coached to try.

however, he's a player that can do really well if needed at RCB in a back three and may ultimately settle in as a CB. let's see healthy competition from the academy full backs though, it can only be a good thing.
I will say the purchase was bang on the money.

A ultra-defensive full back at 22 can never become an attacking full back. 22 is not embryo for a full back, maybe fetal stage sha. lol

2. Fred passes the ball between the lines. I see that a lot even from last season. Most times, the rest players dont understand what he is trying to do because they were not used to such. McTominay plays fast. Only Matic and Pogna that are slow. The other day I watch Liverpool, they played slower than United midfilders. Mane even had to drop to carry the ball with speed forward.

Yes i did. I chose only CM and removed CAM, LW, RW.

From that left he was helping LGV to kill big teams. It was hard to predict which area he would go. He still has those flashes when he plays from the left but his legs are weak now. Remember this guy tormented teams in the EPL while at Villa, creating some of the best play from the wing.

But William is perfect for now. In two years, he we will be enjoying him fully.

Yes he is LIMITED by his age. He is not as good as he once was. He was mainly a mediocre winger for us but became a decent full back, and his days are numbered.
He was better and showed more potential at Villa.

As for Williams i wanted a more gradual introduction but the senior ones (Young, Shaw) are just too useless.


P.S With so many good young full backs in the club that AWB deal was so unnecessary.

Both Young and Shaw are limited. Early on i said Williams will be benching one of them by the 2nd half of the season, i didn't know the young man will be impatient and start benching both of them.

KDB only started playing central midfield this season. He was RWF/LWF like Hazard. He also played as number 10, where he had also played a couple of time this season. Ozil is also like that, playing RWF/LWF/CAM. Fabregas returns are high when he is played as number 10. As CM he doesn't do as well. He can also play the false 9.

Central midfielders return will be higher in a midfield of three when one is allowed to play near the attackers like Lampard. But in a midfield of two (Scholes and Carrick) the returns will be low. This is why McTominay and Fred contribution cannot be like those of KDB, Ozil, Fabregas. If we have a midfield of three, we can play Pogba close to the attackers and hold him responsible for those kind of contribution

You are talking stats, i am talking game play. Ability to switch play from side to side fluidly. Ability to consistently pass in between the lines. That is where our midfield is lacking. They move the ball too slowly and end up making the safe pass most of the time.


According to whoscored KDB played 36 out of 37 EPL games in central midfield in 17/18 season, 10 out 19 EPL last season, and even 16 out of 34 as far back as 16/17 season. So that your assertion is false anyway.

And to clarify i know the attackers need to improve, but i just don't agree with your attempt to completely absolve the midfield of any responsibility.
KDB, Ozil, and Fabregas have been midfielders in this same league. The midfield has a role to play in creating and scoring chances also.
