Football is changing. Attacking players are becoming more energetic/hardworking due to the high press. Working hard is no longer an issue for many of them.

Wijnaldum made that switch before DeBruyne, now we are seeing Bernardo Silva going same way. You cannot typecast a player. Even Dwight Yorke finished his career at CM at Sunderland

We will see how well he does at Dortmund cos that is one team I have followed for decades, so I will definitely watch most of his games.

Brandt is playing CM now. He moved there in January and has been flying. It suits him more. Same way DeBruyne moved from LW at Genk to AM and finally to CM, Brandt is going the same way.

Can he play CM in EPL. Without playing for Pep’s possession team?
It would be a big risk for us and I think we did well not going after them.
Why didn’t Chelsea buy back your old boy Thorgan to replace his brother?

Brandt has buyout clause and Hazard was in last year of contract. That was the only reason a confirmed German and Belgium international can go that cheap. Those boys are worth £45m+ on the open market. Both will replace barber without sweating. Brandt has a hint of DeBruyne about him if you ask me.

Big clubs would have been in for them, but Dortmund in the only club where you are guaranteed starting shirt and UCL football every year without fail. Players with great skill but low repute/exposure always choose Dortmund for the UCL exposure. That allows them to get their reputation to where they can walk into the biggest clubs and demand starting shirt without having to muddle through politics of being a no name.

We will see how they do. Thorgan is 26 and is still a prospect and Brandt is 23.
They could have replaced the retiring old men at Bayern but the Bayern management didn’t think they were capable.

Agent can hawk player with or without the selling clubs knowledge. Leave that thing. After hawking, they will start holding the selling club to ransom by refusing to sign new contract, being disruptive etc. That's how Mino Raiola was hawking Pogba to City last year.

Young boy in Ajax in his debut year, his agent would have hawked him from £10m to £20m as at then depending on his contract status.

Then he had a contract valid for 2 more years. You made a good point about possible agent interference, but the story just does not add up based on the club and player in question.
For Ajax to finally agree to sell him and for him to leave Ajax and Dutch starting line up and go to reserve team of another club seems a tall tale.

Bayern Munich saw Julian Brandt in their league and left him to be to toasting Pepe and Sane. That there is a big red flag. Let him go and develop his game in Dortmund first.

Dembele and Sancho came as teenagers and impressed more than the 2 cheapies you mentioned ( especially Brandt).

We can buy them from Dortmund if push comes to shove, and of course if they impressed there.

P.S I don’t think they can replace Pogba by the way. We need to revert to a real 4-3-3 and neither Brandt or Thorgan can survive as CMs in the EPL.

The Ajax model is to keep their players for a few years and sell him after he blows for top dollar.

Pepe as eph12 said appears to be made of tough stuff and should cope well with the EPL, similar to how Mane does.

Sancho is young and will be very expensive but his ceiling is probably the highest.

Ziyech is very skilled and possibly the best passer of the 3, but might struggle the most with EPL physicality.

In a perfect world i would buy Sancho and Pepe OR Sancho and Ziyech.

I definitely think OGS should get Ndombele and Ndidi. I like the determination of the former even though I don't think his positioning is very good but he puts his back into it and his frame alongside Paul Pogba in the middle will be a handful for many opposing teams.

Nobody is a sure thing so it is always a risk when it comes to buying players, however sometimes one just has to take the plunge.

I like Sancho because i think he is the real deal, but then he can also be a flop just like anyone else. In the English youth system with Hudson Odoi, Angel Gomes, Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz and others Sancho was the top dog so he showed potential even before he left England.

Your point about Dortmund is a very valid one, however Lewandowski also came from there so something good can still come from there.
I don't mind Pepe to be honest. I have watched more of his videos and i think he can do the job.

I am not sure Ndombele will fit in with what we have. If we are going to keep Pogba i think his CM partner should be more of a possession midfielder who also has high work rate. Ndombele seems to be more of a high work rate box-to-box type without that possession ability.

I like Ndidi, he is the Anti-Matic. There are SEVERAL good options for us to get into the midfield, so if somehow we fail to improve that department i will know Ole and Ed are not serious.

I agree scouts can recommend a player but they have no rights over a player to be able to offer him to another club.
