swiz123: I recently realized that Biology is very simple and I could have been a doctor if laziness didn’t stop me from keeping up with writing lengthy notes.
.....Yoro dey give me joy. Heaven gonna need more game time to prove himself, coz glimpse ain't enough - this is Manchester United. He also has Licha to competing with.
Forget Licha. He is not a long-term solution on that left side. As a CB if you are short, you must not be slow. If you are short and slow, you must not be injury prone.
If you are short, slow, and injury prone, you are on borrowed time. I am looking for either Heaven or Kukonki to take the next step in the coming 12 months. If neither of them does, then we need to go into the market for another first choice.
Roland17: Between both clubs, I am not sure which once will make me develop HBP at this point. With Arsenal, I think I prepared myself better this year for the collapse, in comparison to last year. As for those bricklayers in Boston, they know what is waiting for them at home if they lose this series. This is one of the reasons I love the City of Boston. Omo, nobody send you oh! You go collect 100%
But look at this thing sagaciously and with perspicacity.
Every year a pope dies an English team wins the Champions League. It reached you guys turn and una drop the ball.
You guys sacrificed the Holy Father for nothing. Justice for the Pope!!!
The 3-0 game, they had a moment in the first half where we allowed VanDer Vart abi what’s his name to pounce on a mistake between Rashy and Garnacho and beat three men down the line to square it for Johnson.
The two other goals could’ve been prevented as well. They weren’t fantastic, we just weren’t good. I don’t see that as domination.
The 1-0 could have gone either way. We were both struggling for form and had lost loads of games. That game came down to moments as well.
Tottenham may have beaten us thrice this season. But I don’t think they are an exceptional or the gap between us is wide. If not, they’d be in the top 4 instead of languishing down the table with us.
61% possession to 39% possession, 24 shots to 11 shots, 10 shots on target to 2 shots on target, 3-0 scoreline. Yet you say we were not dominated?
Ok o.
And i am not saying they are exceptional. You are the one that said you have no doubt that we will win. It is the confidence that you have that we will beat them that i am respecting. It is close between both teams and tough to call but you are talking like we are way better than them.
The 3-0 vs Ten Hag was a freak result cos we dominated them. They were only more clinical.
The 4-3 cup game, we started our second team. When Amad and co came on we almost nicked a result.
The last 1-0 defeat was more even and could have go either way.
If we have a fit Amad as well as other sensible players on the pitch and can withstand their physicality, I have no doubts that we’ll beat them.
Amad has lost 2 Europa League finals, watching from the bench. His only real appearance against Spurs was the cup cameo where he scored one and assisted one , I think. (ETH subbed him in at 85 mins in the Old Trafford defeat when Mount got injured).
If Amorim starts him, he can decide the game for us. That’s how good he is. He may even be the reason we win the rest of our league games this season.
The 3-0 game they dominated us die. They had 24 shots to our 11. They had 10 shots on target to our 2. They also had 61% possession to our 39%.
The 1-0 game they had 22 shots to our 16 and they had 56% possession to our 44%. In this game they were playing with their 4th and 5th choice CBs and we could not score against them.
The 4-3 was the only one we played better in, and that was due to our late game pressure. They played an 18yr old midfielder in central defense to partner their 3rd choice CB.
I respect your trust and confidence in our players in the face of contrary evidence.
If we start Casemiro/Ugarte pivot with Bruno at the 10 we will be giving the initiative to Spurs, and unlike a lot of these other Europa League teams they can load us with early goals.
We should start Casemiro/Bruno pivot and Amad as the right 10. Whoever is in form between Mount/Garnacho/Mainoo should be the left 10.
The way to beat Spurs is to hit them early and throw them into confusion. I don't think these late come backs will work against them.
CapitalCee: I just hope Deligt returns properly for the finals. You see why I said we missed Dalot. If he had been there, Mazraoui will move to RcB where Lindelof played today
Lindelof is just done out here. He must not enter pitch for that final.
semid4lyfe: American media slandered the leading Italian papal candidate so much in the days leading up to the conclave and effectively killed his candidacy.
Nothing wey I no read online. Still, I wasn't expecting Prevost to emerge.
I fear who no fear America.
He who enters the conclave a pope, leaves it as a cardinal. That is the saying.
I don't think the Italian losing out had anything to do with the slander. Once you are the front runner or one of the front runners to be pope BEFORE a conclave, it is almost guaranteed that you won't be pope.
semid4lyfe: I don't think any movie adaptation can be better than that imagery that floods your mind when you read the book.
The GF movies were very good but the novel trumps the movies.
That is too broad a statement.
I disagree. Imagery is important when it comes to storytelling, but it is not everything. The acting of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino for instance can't be replicated on print. The background soundtrack of the movie and the emotions it triggers when watching it can't be transmitted through a novel.
The only way you can say The Godfather novel is better than the movie is if you are FAR more bibliophile than you are a cinephile.
GloriousGbola: the godfather series always rubbed me the wrong way because for me, in the end, they are romanticizing crime
at least in Goodfellas you see actual consequences. by the time you get to the last don - technically not in the series, the mafia are literally heroes
I was talking more about the quality of the movie, and at the end of the Godfather there were consequences as his family fragmented and his daughter was killed.
CapitalCee: I am always shocked at some lowly clubs we send our players for loans. I wonder whether there are no championship teams to take them. I watched Oyedele agaisnt Chelsea in the Conference league, he was very good, although not quality enough to improve us at the moment. But we can get something for him, we got £10m for Kambwala for example.
I think Oyedele being moved on was because ETH preferred Collyer to him. Time will tell if it was the right decision.
And yes, you are absolutely right. These useless loan deals are killing the value of the players.
In 2023 we loaned Charlie Savage to Forest Green Rovers who were battling relegation in League One. Luckily, he played a few games, but they got relegated to League Two. In 2024 we then sent Oyedele to the same Forest Green in League Two where they were battling relegation again and of course he got very few games.
Years ago, we sent Ethan Laird to a team that played using only WBs at a time we didn't use WBs in the academy or the senior team. We then sent Mengi to a team that played using 3 CBs at a time we used only 2. Maybe ultimately the boys were not good enough, but the loans are not helping at all.
TemporaryHansel: Arsenal might likely not win a cl trophy in your lifetime.
Might?
May God use heaven to take care of that my patient who was an Arsenal fan and died at over 100 years of age AND never saw Arsenal win a Champions League trophy.
When Waziri buys his club, I wonder if he'll stop supporting arsenal.
The guy go use evil body to touch ground now at least until next season, then the delusion will start again.
How can you watch football for 30 years and you have never seen your club win a European title? Na football club be that or gym? O wa stupendously wrong nau.
