Leyqute: The two of them are very similar. Delap looks more or less like Hojlund just before we bought him— unproven but decent potential.
The difference is the price. Hojlund’s was a rip off while 30m for Delap doesn’t look that bad. Hindsight will always be 20/20 I am talking about the eye test and not the stats. Delap is stronger and holds up the play better. His touch looks better as well. He is also half the price of Rasmus. Even if he flops it will be a 35m mistake not a 75m one. Ideally, we need a more established no 9 but i am not sure the obvious options will come to us now with no UCL football. |

MRTA7: If we did that we would have to also get rid of Zirkzee surely? Zirkzee can be a good bench option as a left 10 in Amorim's 3-4-3. Cunha to start and Zirkzee on the bench. He can be a 3rd option CF if the first 2 options can't play. |

izzou: Where did you get this data from?
Do you know how many ex players we have worldwide?
Anybody who fails to invest in the future, would pay for it later; whether ex player, doctor or yahoo boy.
It has nothing to do with football It is different for athletes. Firstly, they have a shorter career lifespan making money especially for players like Emmanuel Thomas that didn't really make it big. Secondly, the part of the human brain responsible for decision making, planning, impulse control does not fully develop until about 25yrs of age, by which time half of the already short career of an average sportsman is gone. Conversely, for professionals like doctors and lawyers most of their money is made when they are fully mature and their brain is developed. They can also make their money for decades and can possibly continue to increase their earnings as they get older. Currently I have 3 colleagues who started practicing before i was born and they are still making loads of money despite swimming in it already. The chances a sportsman will pay for earlier financial or fiscal mistakes are far higher than those of a lawyer or doctor. |

Leyqute: I’m concerned this Delap deal won’t be a repeat of the Hojlund mistake. Manchester United is not Ipswich or Hull City. Delap is better than Hojlund and half the price. Ideally though, we should get someone better than Delap in addition to Delap and then offload Hojlund. |

TrebleChamp: That my last line was actually a joke 😁. Who would you prefer between Osimhen and Gyokeres? I don't know. I am not sure i have watched a full match of Gyokeres. Gyokeres seems to have a higher potential ceiling and a lower potential floor as well. Osimhen is the safer and less risky bet. Gyokeres based on his stats and performances can either be a world beater in the EPL or the next Darwin Nunez. Osimhen (if given the proper service) is less likely to flop even if he does not reach Gyokeres potential ceiling. The problem is that we don't have any more money to waste on more flops. If i was sure that the club would reinvest wisely i would have said that they should accept that Bruno 100m offer sharperly. Without wingers playing as WBs on both sides we might still struggle to create chances next season. That WB issue has to be sorted ASAP. |

TrebleChamp: Just finish watching video clip of Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen.
Delap is surprisingly very good with ball, fast, skillful and can score goals, far far better that Trasmus (for now at least).
Gyokeres is a very exciting skillful striker and i hope we can get him, boy is so good in and outside the box and is a nightmare for defenders. How he will handle the more physical EPL defenders remains to be seen.
Osimhen is fast, strong and a good finisher too but less skillful compared to the two above.
I will choose Gyokeres judging from the videos clips, but we all know highlights don't tell the full story.
I hope United can get all three make we seal the striker position for the next 10 years, plus we still have Chido Obi-Martin coming through... Why are you wasting your hope on what will 1000% not happen? It is not even a good hope because unless we somehow find 500m to spend this summer it won't be a judicious use of resources when we have other pressing areas to address as well. We need a right 10 if Amad is going to spend time as RWB or a RWB if Amad is going to be our starting right 10. We need a complete CM who is not a liability in one area and can compete both technically and physically. Someone that does not need another person to unlock his basic midfield qualities. We need at least one CB cos we will be losing several of them this offseason. We need 2 GKs but i think it might be more reasonable to get a starting GK and recall Vitek as No 2 at least for next season. We can play Vitek in Carabao Cup to keep him sharp cos i think 2 seasons of relative inactivity in his physical prime have contributed in a way in turning Bayindir from a possibly bad keeper into a definitely bad keeper. |

patrickmuf: Finally, I can see the back of this torrid season...
Whatever the club does, we should go after players who are confident in tight spaces and do not treat a football like a bomb. We need to sign at least 3 technicians who can also put in the work.
Our play is just too lethargic, it's a shame that several managers after, our players still don't approach a game with the intensity modern football demands. Check all the successful teams of recent years; they play with a good level of intensity, and they cover a lot of ground.

CapitalCee: Nothing like all these, I want to stay and fight my shirt nonsense again.
Hojlund, Onana, Shaw, Mount, Bayindir, Casemiro, Licha Martinez, and Maguire needs to find a new club or send them to the U21s. Like Chelsea did to Gallagher until he was force to go to A . Madrid. Evans, Lindelof and Eriksen normally realeased. Thank God we are only playing on league next season so will not require much squad. So any of them that refuse to find another club should be sent to the U21s, simple. Ugarte should warm up to join siut in January unless he transforms himself.
We need 2 goalkeepers, one first choice and the other second choice. We need attacking and defensive midfielders. We need a striker, that is not names Delap. If Ratcliffe doesn't have the money for a proper rebuild, then he should sell his shares.
If a very high price come for Bruno, we must take. We need at least Yoro and Amad are the only 2 players that should definitely not be for sale at this time. |

CapitalCee: Very good, I will give Yoro 60-65 minutes then, he hasnt been out for up to 2 weeks yet, so probably still match fit. Playing Maz and Shaw 2 non natural CB at CB is risky to me. Maguire, Yoro and Shaw then. Then Maz in RWB to free up Amad. Yes. This sounds like what will happen. The only X-factor is that Dalot is an iron man with Wolverine like healing powers only next to Bruno. Who knows how fit he is. The coach might risk him from the start. The most crucial point of order though is that under no circumstances should Lindelof see any minutes for this game. With Maguire, Maz, Yoro, Shaw, Heaven we should be able to prevent that from happening. |

CapitalCee: I don’t know how fir he is, But given that this is the last meaningful game of the season, I will stick Yoro and Dalot in the starting Eleven, they make a lot of difference. Because with Dalot, Amad will push up to play 10 together with Ganarcho. Move Bruno to pivot with Casemiro. Yoro Naturally then replaces Lindelof. We can replace then later in the match when we are firmly in the lead. I feel Hojlund will still start, honestly, Zirkzee based on his performances before getting injured, he is miles better than Hojlund. I honestly pray my instinct is correct that we win. I think only one of Dalot or Yoro will start. Shaw will be LCB and Maguire CCB. If Dalot starts, Maz will be RCB with Yoro on the bench. If Yoro starts, Maz will be RWB with Dalot on the bench. It might be a tad risky starting 2-3 players all coming straight from injury. Firstly, they might not fit in terms of cardio to play 60 mins which is expected of a starter. Secondly, you run the risk of both pulling up with a recurrence and wasting valuable substitutions. |

everton4life: 🤞🤞
But seriously, did they revamp the medical team? The injury situation towards the end of the season seems to be better.
Shaw, Mount have been managed well and no injuries(hopefully, I haven't jinxed this. 😂)
Amad returning to fitness, earlier than expected.
Now yoro, dalot and zirkzee. No we didn’t. Maybe our luck has improved. The same medical team that needed 3 tries to control de Ligt’s bleeding is still there: |
