elampiro: 4-5-1 that takes a 4-1-4-1 shape.Elampiro this line up can NEVER NEVER NEVER be used. I am not sure i used enough nevers, let me add one more....NEVER. 1) Falcao is a born in the box 9, possibly the best in the last 5years. Nobody is going to allow an unfit, plodding RVP to top strike while playing Falcao on the wings. 2) Playing those 3 strikers in any arrangement and leaving blind, mata and di maria in midfield would ensure we lose control of the midfield against any decent side AND those 3 up front won't get decent service.....sometimes you have to reduce the number of attackers you have in order to improve your attack. |
A40: Na Bolton I wan talk jare no vex too much Orijin for bodyLOL me sef know. |
Nihilist: What happened this Nigga sef?LOL old papa youngy ![]() The guy dey Southie, he has scored 5 league goals in the last 5 years. i kid you not |
Nihilist: You fvcked up when you claimed Sturridge had more football intelligence than Welbeck.definitely. dribbling and finishing i give to sturridge but at city and chelsea shooting from corner flag and other femi opabunmi exploits showed he was still lacking in the intelligence section....he is much better now though. |
Dhellake: Forget about national team, Bernard plays for Brazil while Coutinho doesn't, as at 08/09 season, Sturridge was already starting league games, he played 16 games, scored 4, 3assists, Scored 8 goals in 12 while on loan at Bolton, He dribbles better, obviously has more football intelligence than Welbeck, how then was Welbeck a better"TALENT"??You have to look at the context, why won't Sturridge have played matches that season? He was competing with Darius Vassell, Benjani, and Valeri Bojinov ![]() Welbeck was competing with Rooney,Tevez,Berbatov,Cristiano Ronaldo and Louis Saha Tell me who would get more opportunities? |
A40: Better rated by who? Because he played for United? Sturridge has been a prodigious talent (for English standards) since his days at Blackburn at no point was Welbeck the better playerDaniel Sturridge play for Blackburn? Maybe on PS 2 (or NL) but not in real life. |
PietroRico: Rvp says all rumours of him needing a knee surgery are nonsenseOne of RVP,Rooney or Mata drops to the bench. Likely going to be RVP initially but if Mata starts slacking nothing stops LVG from dropping him and playing Rooney behind RVP and Falcao for certain matches. We will need an all action midfield for that to happen though. Having said all that what determines who gets dropped is the formation LVG wants to use.....or it could be the other way round u never can tell with LVG. |
Why all the gloom? The focus should be on the performance on the field as that will guarantee regular flow of income. Even with these new players we still have the 2nd lowest wage bill to turnover ratio out of the big teams in England. We are still going to be below 60 percent, last year we were at about 50 percent but when you consider Everton at 78 percent, Liverpool at 65 percent, Chelsea at 70 percent, Man City at 86 percent,Spurs at 65 percent then there is no cause for undue alarm. Yes we added some big name signings this year but these are the salaries that were in our books last season that are no longer there Rio Ferdinand 90k Nemanja Vidic 90k or more Patrice Evra 90k Shinji Kagawa 80k Ryan Giggs 75k Tom Cleverly 40K Wilfried Zaha 35k Alex Buttner 15k Welbeck 70k or thereabouts Our wage bill for this season is just slightly more than for last season but at the same time turnover has increased also......the issue now is for the results on the pitch to improve too. |
coogar: his knees are dodgy - he's playing through the pain barrier. if he's fully-fit, he's better than rooney everyday of the week.Yeah but the debate is not on Rooney or RVP. Everyone knows that a fully fit RVP is a better striker than a fully fit Rooney. But i have seen several great players slide into mediocrity at a certain age on the back of "fitness issues"....that is Father Time's calling card. If this RVP issue persists throughout this season that would make 2 WASTED SEASONS, and the clock is ticking....he ain't no spring chicken |
coogar: robben isn't equal to VP when everyone is fit. not in robben's lifetime has he possessed the technical quality of VP. VP is a born predator. he will score 10 times before robben will score 3.This RVP i am seeing is looking like a man on his last legs, i hope i am wrong but it just appears like he is aging before our eyes. Remember one thing remains undefeated.......FATHER TIME |
montelik: Rooney will start, whatever formations or lineups you guys speculate. make sure to include Captain Rooney.for sure. rooney is in my formation. one alternative is to drop Mata and play Falcao and RVP with Rooney in Mata's position. Mata plays like a girl, his lack of any kind of strength on the ball is annoying. He has vision but in football your opponents won't just sit on their hands and watch you paint your masterpiece... |
chrisley024: Fact: Robben is equivalent to VP + RooneyVery true. Robben equals those 2. and Falcao might be better than Lewandowski but then u add Ribery and u see it is not a close contest. |
Dadehmola: Di Maria in a diamond? I doubt if he would be able to dazzle there. I'd rather have him as an out and out winger,(4-2-3-1) or in the hole (3-4-1-2)Yes he would be better as a winger but remember he excelled as part of a midfield 3 with Alonso and Modric last season at Real so he would be asked to replicate his duties. But for Alonso we have Blind or Carrick and for Modric we have Herrera. I dont have him as a winger because if we use wingers or wing forwards in this team we would have to sacrifice BOTH RVP and Rooney (despite what anybody says the days of either rooney or rvp playing effectively in winger/WF position are long gone) |
coogar: without bias, who has the best attacking trio in europe when everyone is fit?Barca Real Bayern Man Utd in that order |
4-3-1-2. We will be solid in the midfield with excellent and dynamic passers, overlapping fullbacks offering width and prolific strikers up front. I believe this formation is the best protection for our shaky defense -------------------------de gea--------------------------- ----rafael---------jones-------evans/rojo-----shaw------ ----------------------blind/carrick-------------------------- -------------herrera----------------di maria--------------- -----------------------mata---------------------------- ---------------falcao----------rooney---------------- 2nd team will be -----valencia-------smalling-------evans/rojo-----blackett---- ---------------------blind/carrick-------------------- -----------fletcher----------------anderson---------- ---------------------adnan------------------------ --------------wilson---------RVP-------------------- |
elampiro: I saw this £190k before, but I couldn't understand how possible. Is Falcao taking a pay cut or Monaco will pay part of the salary?Yes there are reports that Monaco is going to pay part of his salary. So guys what is your preferred formation and line-up for this team when everybody is fit? |
raumdeuter: Close your XBOX and go to sleep. So much hate in your heart But,why? |
Dadehmola: In a nutshell, we have signed a shorter,Left footed and faster than Carrick but you are not too far from the truth. However he is just 24 and has really improved a lot over the last 18 months,so hopefully he continues to improve. |
elampiro: His defensive stats are not encouraging to me. He doesnt appear to be good in aerial duel. An area we have been lacking. No he is not a dominant player aerially that is why i would prefer him in midfield and never in defense. He is very comfortable with the ball(unlike Fletcher) and is quite willing to pass forwards (unlike Cleverley). His major assets are his passing, positioning and intelligence.....unfortunately he is not blessed with much PACE or PAWA ![]() |
Belovedd: ExactlyWhat is your source? |
Belovedd: Falcao has failed his medicals\ LOL We better halt that Welbeck sale |
Jalonking: Told you guys we are done for the season .... All the same, thumbs up to woodyYeah but its done for the window. We will be back in January |
And for those fans and haters concerned about wage/turnover ratio IF Falcao deal comes through our ratio is still at about 60 percent while Chelsea and Man City are at about 70 percent and 86 percent respectively. In fact only Arsenal under Monsieur(miser) Wenger would have a better ratio of 55 percent among the big teams in England.Financial we are still well sorted i believe for now, the problem is building a balanced team to win matches on the pitch |
Nihilist: THE TRANSFER WINDOW HAS CLOSEDLOL shey na make we no sign Falcao make u keep vigil like this? no worry una get Costa,Drogba and Remy now abi una b dog in the manger?. Meanwhile i dey sight you for that ashewo thread o ewolewo? |
2ndOGA: Hmm. In what happens to be 15 or so mins left. What is this?LOL we better keep Welbeck in case Falcao deal fails |
2ndOGA: Err. . .has the Falcao deal been made official?Still having his medical o, they had to move hospital staff into Carrington to save time. The guy got to Manchester from France an hour later than expected |
Nihilist: Falcao + Nani's wages alone = 500k a weekThe wages are no issue at all, it is all about the structure of the team. We do not have enough quality in midfield and defense....THAT IS THE PROBLEM. In terms of wages and turnover we are very well sorted. Remember it is wages/turnover not wages/profit ![]() |
Cleverley is just delaying judgement day, likely to leave in January. |
Nihilist: All structural...Montelik is the only one that critically assessed the financials.ok So who has any idea of the formation and lineup that best suits this motley crew we have assembled? |
RuuDie: Rojo and Blind... The only deals over the last 2 seasons I agree with.Difficult to argue with that but let us wait and see how they perform first. However i agree with you that Fellaini,Mata,Herrera,Shaw were all wrong buys for different reasons. Di Maria though expensive might be a great buy if we jettison this 3-4-1-2 |
Nihilist: The only voice of reason on the thread todayThen you did not read this afrodoc2: Seems transfer business is done for United this window.or this 2ndOGA: Thought Valencia were in for him. Hmm. . .or this SailorXY:or this 2ndOGA: Would rather they sort out the CD. Come on Ed, few hours to go. . .It is always good when you buy a good striker when your current strikers are firing blanks but many fans here have not lost sight of the fact that the squad is still unbalanced and we should have strengthened midfield and defense further |
montelik: So we chased the relatively young and cost effective strikers we had for the super expensive trio of a 31 year old with a long history and present day fitness issues (RVP), a soon to be 29 year old who plays like he is already in his 30s (Rooney) and a 28 year old who just recovered from a serious knee injury.Wilson is the best striker to come out of the United set up since Norman Whiteside. If he is given the opportunity he will be a very good player......he is already a better finisher than Welbeck will ever be I am happy with the Falcao signing if he stays fit but i would have kept Welbeck. I agree with you however that the squad is still unbalanced......very much so |
