chrisley024: He said it's falseNo wahala there are enough matches between now and January for Vidal and Strootman to prove their fitness. I have a feeling Strootman would be the main target come January though although we could go for Vidal too if Carrick,Fletcher,Anderson continue to under-perform. |
IYANGBALI: sori I no fit date chelshit fanWait o, is that your picture? Bia neba we need to have this intercourse, SORRY discourse in camera ![]() |
LOL this thread is becoming more interesting. Yesterday it was Jagielka better than Terry argument today it is another one. |
coogar: dayo, you are hurting your credibility with this argument. now is the time to quit.Brazil did not play that formation during Pele's time. They played 4-2-4 during Pele's era and especially at the 58 and 70 world cups. They were the ones who sent the 2-3-5 and W M formations to the grave |
Chelsea City United Liverpool Arsenal |
Nihilist: Me 3!LOL U don come back from pub already? |
coogar: the forces of demand & supply didn't play any role. looking at all the articles i have read, city deliberately sold at a loss to get him off their club. they were prepared to do anything to get ade off their books - that's their prerogative - they are rich & that loss was nothing to them.Because Adebayor could have refused to leave in theory if his usual wages were not guaranteed at Spurs. City might have then had to pay him 17.6m pounds for doing nothing.....a loss of 17m pounds But by selling him for 9 million pounds and paying compensation they limited their potential loss in the whole deal |
raumdeuter: Exactly.Elampiro see me too o ![]() Tomorrow now no go cry say ayagayagayo o! For this one we dey support u o ![]() |
coogar: the contract is a sham!Manchester City sold a player whose contract was worth 17.6 million pounds for less than 9 million pounds . This nullifies your theory. The party who is concerned about the value of the remaining contract (i.e salary) is THE PLAYER not the selling club. That is why players can refuse to move to another club for less pay e.g Adebayor and of course the infamous Winston Bogarde. If a player refuses to take a pay cut then the selling club has to augment the salary being offered by the buying club (that is if they are desperate to release the player). OR they could just allow him continue collecting salary for nothing the way Bogarde did. |
Adebayor's remaining contract was worth 17.6 m pounds so according to Coogar's theory City should have made at least 17.6 m pounds from his sale. However City sold him for 9 million( or 5 million) pounds to Spurs and still paid compensation to him. It means City made 9 million minus whatever money they paid Adebayor as compensation. However you calculate it Manchester City made less than 9 million pounds on selling a player whose contract was worth 17.6 million pounds |
The fact that Man City were still paying part of Adebayor's salary despite selling him for a fraction of his contract worth means they were making even more of a loss on selling him. That nullifies your argument Coogar. A selling club does not have to recoup the worth of a player's contract when selling.......If you factor in Adebayor's transfer fee and factor in the salary still being paid by City they made a loss not a profit |
Deiok: My thought exactly. i just hope we start getting result from next game upward. We cant afford to be 10 points behind. Although i am still having a bit of doubt about adnan, who i think is just being naive, hope he get is acts together. When he plays as part of a quality team with great players around him he will improve. The problem was that whenever he took to the field there was too much pressure on him to deliver the goods cos the other players like nani, valencia, young were so fecal. Now with an improved team and the coaching of LVG he will play freely and not try to do it all |
Deiok: Heheheh... I would prefer coasterYes i agree with you on Adnan, that is why i have him in my 4-2-3-1 playing on the wing. Adnan and Di Maria playing the wings at the same time will open up the middle for our no 9 and no 10 cos both of them (Adnan and Di Maria) would require double teaming most of the time. |
Deiok: trust me young will never make any decent cross in from the right, he rather try some silly tricks, like pulling a shot wide from a corner which obviously will be impossible to score from. Or make a cross which will be out of the reach of every plater in the box. Atleast val. Have one assist already this season. My point is i prefer Valencia as substitute RB but Young as substitute RW. Neither of them is good enough to start for Manchester United and the day both of them leave the club i will buy every fan on this thread Okin biscuit. |
Deiok: That is never going to happen. Even if young grows additional pair of legs.LOL. Honestly as much as i criticize Young, for the mere fact that Valencia always hits the legs of his markers with his cross i would prefer Young on this team AS LONG AS HE IS ON THE RIGHT. At least on the right he makes decent runs and crosses( better than Valencia) rather than on the left where he just cuts back and launches an aimless in sw.inger. Valencia is a winger who wins only throw-ins, we do not need his type at this moment i believe. However as a deputy for Rafael in defense i would prefer Valencia to Young cos i believe he is a better defender. |
coogar: why does everyone think jones would be the preferred centre-half & not blackett? LVG seems to like blackett & the young lad has barely put a foot wrong apart from letting bony take a quick freekick that led to swansea's winner at OT.I believe it would be a right footed center half and a left footed one cos LVG always likes balance. So it is Rojo v Blackett v Evans for one spot(LCB) and then Jones v Smalling v Evans for the RCB. LB will be Shaw v Rojo v Blackett. Evans has regressed badly over the last season,he has zero confidence. |
coogar: no rooney & RVP?We need either pace or width in attack. Going with Falcao,Rooney,RVP,Mata offers neither. We just kicking around ideas here though. My personal best formation would be a 4-2-3-1 formation that offers maximum protection to our weak defense and gives us pace and width on the flanks like this.... --------------------de gea-------------------- -----rafael-----jones-----rojo-------shaw----- ----------carrick------------blind------------- ----adnan---------herrera---------di maria----- -----------------falcao------------------------ Summary is this. The only way Rooney or RVP should start is if we are playing 2 strikers.....NEITHER ROONEY NOR RVP CAN PLAY ON THE WINGS AGAIN. Mata can not play on the wings either and without a VERY SOLID central midfield behind him Mata is useless as a 10. |
------------------de gea------------------- ---rafael------jones----rojo-----shaw------ ------------------carrick------------------- ---------herrera----------blind-------------- -----------------mata----------------------- -------------falcao------di maria--------------- |
MrTA: Not a fan of Rooney in the number 10 but these are some preferred 11s from me. Sorry about the size. All are decent line ups. The potential problem in the 1st line up is Mata. Are Blind and Herrera dynamic enough to give Mata a solid platform behind him? Di Maria wide is a good move cos it would be wise to place him in as attacking a position as possible in order to cause damage to the opposition. The 2nd line up is another good one. I like the diamond formation although i hope our new expensive toy does not get hurt with the daily grind of the EPL midfield season. I believe we will get width from our overlapping FULL BACKS with Di Maria and Herrera helping out on the flanks when needed. When under pressure, Di Maria and Herrera will push into the middle to help Blind block the passing lanes. 3rd line up could be useful when there is no pressure on us in midfield against teams we have under the cosh. Rooney can only thrive as a no 10 only in low pressure situations. His first touch, agility and short passing leave a lot to be desired. |
raumdeuter: Do you have any evidence that contradicts that in Germany vs Argentina meet ups. One country has been vastly more successful in tournaments while the other has been more successful in friendliesDo u have evidence that Germany has never lost to Argentina in any tournament? ![]() Remember you listed 1990,2010 etc as examples of Germany's victories. |
raumdeuter: The argument here is that the Germans win when its important i.e in Major tournaments while the Argentines have the significant upper hand in inconsequential friendliesMy point is that you falsified your evidence and records. ![]() You were arguing Argie v Germany with Coogar not me ![]() |
raumdeuter: How many generations of Argentines have Germany ended their world cup hopes?Lol what is the argument here? I have no horse in this race, i was only correcting you highly erroneous assertion ![]() |
bykebyke: GreeceLOL una no go kill person. How DK could have forgotten that Maradona and his boys ensured Schumacher and Rummenigge ended their playing careers without a World Cup title is beyond me. |
coogar: it seems you find it difficult to cope with logic. united have won the ICC & they can still win their league.LOL. It is sad to see DK one of the most insightful guys on this forum reduced to a troll. Dayo wake up from your slumber! You are still good peoples ![]() |
raumdeuter: Since 1986, Its been 4 world cup knockouts for the gauchos while they keep piling up useless friendly winsI was just highlighting the lie you told when you said Germany had never lost to Argentina in a tournament. It is either you lied blatantly or you typed without thinking things through. Either way YOU TALK TOO MUCH ![]() |
raumdeuter: No one cares about a friendly except losers like Manure while everyone cares about a world cup finalWho did Argentina beat in 1986 World Cup Final? |
Let us not get too carried away. We have to pray for good fortune with injuries, the new players to gel quickly with the old players and for the manager to put these players in the best position for success. We have good players now, we do not have a good team yet. |
Falcao is right footed, just that when he has a goal scoring chance he no dey look twice or think even once....he dey light the ball with whichever foot near ball past. That was the pre knee injury Falcao.......let us see if he has still got it. |
MrTA: WelbeckLOL. i remember one of my old club packs that came with a DVD i think it was the 2002 edition. It had a group of children being trained by United coaches. One of them was Danny Welbeck, he must have been 11yrs old. As a real United fan himself and a truly home grown kid i have always rooted for him. Ironically the special guest at training that day was Ruud Van Nistelrooy, although he was shown teaching them the Cruyff turn(would have been better had he thought Danny Boy how to shoot ) |
LOL now we have Falcao everybody is coming out to malign Rooney .It is not a sin to to score via penalty na, and there is NOBODY that scores in every match. We should just hope and pray that the new world class additions galvanize the whole squad to put in more effort and play better |
chrisley024: He should be paired with Falcao and used like Robben was in WC while Rooney/Mata plays behind them. I agree with this. |
elampiro: The midfield can dominate. It's akin to midfield of Alonso, Modric and Di Maria at Madrid last season. Th only problem will be winning the ball back. There's where Herrera or Rooney can fill I for Mata.It is not similar. Remove Mata from your midfield and put Herrera and you can play that midfield i.e Blind,Di Maria and Herrera. I don't think you realize how lazy and useless Mata is playing in midfield. He can't tackle, can't close down, can't track back, has no real pace with or without the ball.He is overdependent on his pass. As per the attack, just forget it. There is no way Falcao is being shifted to the left or right to allow RVP or Rooney play centrally. If they can't play wide or behind him they might have to find a cool seat on the bench. |
