Politics / Best Countries To Live, In 2014 by afroprofile: 10:51pm On Jan 07, 2014
1. Australia: 7.95

If you want to move up in the world, go Down Under. In Australia, they live long and well. Life expectancy at birth in Australia stands at 82 years, which is two years more than the average. The Ozzies are more involved with their government than any other country, with an unprecedented 9.5/10 for Civic Engagement. It looks like democracy works, at least for Australians; they’ve got a high level of life satisfaction, a very high level of safety and are generally in very good health. They work hard though, and their work-life balance is lower than most of the countries in the top 10. All things considered though – including housing, education, income and jobs – Australia tops the list as the country with the highest level of well-being in the world, ranking just slightly above Sweden. It’s no wonder Oz is one of the countries with the highest rates of immigration in the world

2. Sweden: 7.95

Sweden is a nation of academics, with an over 10% higher than average rate of high school graduates. Unusually, though, the level of literacy is slightly lower than the average – which goes to show that statistics can be deceiving! Sweden is at number 2 on our list because it doesn’t rank particularly low in any of the categories for overall well-being; with a good score on Civic Engagement, a high level of life satisfaction, a great environment and a positive work/life balance, Sweden is an attractive choice for the ambitious traveller.

Health / Ford Unveils Solar Car, Runs 21 Miles Fueled Only By Sunlight by afroprofile: 6:40am On Jan 05, 2014
Ford announced a new concept car on Thursday fueled almost entirely by the sun, without depending on a power outlets or charging stations for fuel.

C-MAX Solar Energi Concept, which will be on display at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas next week, aims to make green vehicles more accessible to drivers, eliminating the need for electric grids that are often underdeveloped, unreliable or pricy. Still, the car comes with a charge port and can be fueled by at a charging station like other solar-powered vehicles.

solar car

Instead of filling up on power from an electrical charger or outlet, the concept car comes with a solar panel roof that uses a concentrator lens, similar to a magnifying glass, to lure sunlight to fuel the vehicle. Ford’s solar tech partner SunPower is providing the solar cells for the roof.

With a full charge, Ford said it will have the same total range as Ford’s conventional C-MAX Energi of up to 620 miles, which includes 21 electric-only miles.

Although the car may never hit the market, features used in concept cars are often rolled out to future vehicles. Even if a similar model launches in the future, many store their cars in garages, which limits access to the sun. Seasons would post problems as well; those in the north might need to rely more on electric power when the sun sets earlier during the winter months.

Romance / Sexiest Women In The World by afroprofile: 1:55pm On Dec 29, 2013
The world is filled with gorgeous and sexy women, but some countries seems to be extra blessed in this regard.

If you have seen or read about these countries, you must believe this list.

Check out World’s Top 10 countries with the sexiest women and let us know if you agree.

1. BRAZIL

Why are there so many Brazilian supermodels? Because they have the genes for it. Brazilians are probably the most ethnically mixed people in the world, so combining different shades and shapes creates the most perfect of bodies. And they work on them too, since they live at the beach in Rio or flaunt themselves at the trendiest bars in fashion-obsessed São Paulo. Go to any fashion show around the world or open a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, and you’re guaranteed to find a Brazilian girl.

2. RUSSIA

After Brazil, Russia is probably the country with the most beautiful women per square mile. You’ll find female eye candy on the Moscow subway, but also throughout the most remote corners of Siberia, where supermodel Irina Shayk was discovered. Female beauty is part of the Russian landscape

3. SLOVAKIA

Romance / Sex Questions: Answers To Question You Couldn’t Ask, 18+ Only by afroprofile: 1:42pm On Dec 29, 2013
A lot of people ask very private questions about sex and hardly get answers.

We put these sex questions out there so you wouldn’t have to.

1. Could I have accidentally peed the bed during sex?
If the condom is intact and you’ve ruled out the possibility that the wet spot came from him, take a discreet sniff. Does the wet spot smell like urine? If so, there’s your answer. There’s often a tiny bit of fluid left in the bladder even after women use the bathroom, says Lauren Streicher, MD, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Certain sexual positions — such as the missionary — can put enough pressure on that area to cause it to leak. If this happens only once in a while, then there’s no need to worry. If the fluid has no odor or a musky scent and you’re about to have your period, then, Streicher says, you may have ejaculated. (Hey, it happened on “Sex and the City,” so it could happen to you, too!) “But if you’re regularly leaking urine, it could be a sign of incontinence,” she says. She advises strengthening your pelvic-floor muscles through Kegels (seriously, they work!) and consider bringing this up with your gynecologist or a women’s health physical therapist.

2. Why do I sometimes laugh or cry uncontrollably during sex?
“Sex is a neurological and emotional event,” says Debby Herbenick, a research scientist at the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University and the author of Sex Made Easy. In other words, it’s intense, and getting naked (physically and otherwise) with someone can trigger unexpected feelings. An emotional reaction could also be due to hormones, where you’re at in your menstrual cycle or fears you have about the relationship. You know yourself best: If you feel something’s not right, consider bringing it up with your partner or with a therapist.

3. I’m nowhere near menopause, but I’m as dry as the Sahara down there — even when I’m in the mood. How can this be?

Sports / 10 Highest-paid Players In English Premier League 2013 by afroprofile: 12:14am On Dec 26, 2013
Today, England holds the Premier League as its main domestic organization, regarded as one of the most anticipated, watched and highly enjoyed sports leagues in the world. Several top-class teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and others have added glory to the European football scene at different times, with a total of five English clubs winning the UEFA Champions League.

Called ‘The Three Lions’, the national team of England has won just one World Cup in 1966, but legends like Gordon Banks, George Best, Eric Cantona, Bobby Moore, Sir Boby Charlton and Duncan Edwards are remembered as some of Britain’s greatest ever players. The present national team of England also looks very promising, as they have qualified for the finals of Brazil’s 2014 World Cup in group D, together with Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Romance / Casual Sex: The Most Promiscuous Cities In The World by afroprofile: 11:13pm On Dec 25, 2013
Alcohol might be cheaper than water in Tijuana, but sex is even cheaper than that in Pattaya.

The sexual revolution which took place in the 1960′s and 70′s opened the door to what is known in modern times as causal sex. Although it’s not an accepted lifestyle for most religions, it doesn’t stop the trend from becoming more popular. Casual sex is defined as having intercourse with one or multiple partners without emotional attachment. The purpose is purely based on physical satisfaction or indulgence.

http://afroprofile.com/blog/2013/12/24/casual-sex-the-most-promiscuous-cities-in-the-world/

Glamour Magazine recently ran a survey consisting of 2000 women and their casual sex experiences. Ranging from ages 18 to 64, 82% confessed to having at least one such experience. Only 19% of those regret that it happened and most of the women found their partners at familiar places.

According to a study done regarding Spring Break in Florida and 680 college students from Canada who went there, it was concluded that the event is prone to set a comfortable setting for casual sex. The students all agreed that they felt much more at ease in taking part in sexual activities there rather than at home.

Films and television shows openly entertain the lifestyle of non-romantic sexual encounters while the western world is embracing the trend. Currently most of the studies done on this topic make use of college students, seeing as most of these activities tend to take place around campus. Numerous experts blame the casual sex movement for puberty being reached much earlier and the increase of sexual activity in teens.

Due to its late development, religions are vague about the guidelines and don’t really give clear views on the subject. Very few religions like Wicca promote a healthy sex life without concern about marriage or romantic relationships. In general most religions either condemn or frown upon such behavior.

Not all countries have given into the revolution, and rules surrounding it mainly depend on religion and culture. Even though a lot of people still choose to refrain from having causal sex, there is no denying the influence it has on the world today. Here is the list of the top 10 cities in the world that have the most casual sex.

1. Pattaya, Thailand

Nigerian banker Tony O. Elumelu made at least $123 million between November 1 and November 21 as shares of Transcorp PLC, a Nigerian-Stock Exchange-listed conglomerate, surged 186% in that period.

Transnational Corporation Of Nigeria, usually referred to as Transcorp, is an emerging conglomerate holding investments in hotels, power and agriculture. On November 1, the company’s stock was trading at N1.87 ($0.01), and at the close of trading today (Thursday), the stock was trading at N5.35 ($0.03). According to an analyst who did not want to be quoted, there has been an unprecedented demand for Transcorp’s shares at the bourse on account of the company’s recent acquisition of the Ughelli Power plant, a strategic power generation company that the government recently sold in a privatization exercise. Transcorp PLC, under Elumelu’s leadership, acquired the plant for $300 million. Transcorp officially took over the plant on November 1. Investors are scrambling for the stock in anticipation of the long-term impact the new acquisition will likely have on Transcorp’s financial results.

Politics / 5 Most Influential Moments Of Mandela by afroprofile: 10:08pm On Dec 19, 2013
Mandela, hailed as one of the greatest activists of our time, was born on the 18th of July 1918. He was originally named Rolihlahla; a term which in Xhosa – amusingly and, arguably, fittingly – means troublemaker. Born in South Africa’s tempestuous Cape Province his mother Nosekeni Fanny was the third wife Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa. Interestingly, Mandela was assigned the Anglophone name Nelson by his teacher on his first day of school. Mandela’s father died of a lung infection when he was only 9 years old, when he was placed under the guardianship of the acting chief of the Thembu tribe.

Mandela grew up an academic and sportsman. While studying for his BA at Fort Hare University, though, the future politician began to live up to his ‘troublemaker’ name when he was suspended from the university for getting involved in a boycott against certain university policies. During this time, Mandela was developing an interest in black rights and had connections with the anti-imperialist movement in South Africa – an interest which would determine not only his future but the future of millions of South Africans. A few years later, having run away from his home in objection to an arranged marriage, Mandela began his studies in law at the University of Witwatersrand where he was reportedly the only African American student in a community plagued by endemic racism. He became a member of the African National Congress in the early ’40s and, in arguably the first significant political move in his long career, founded the Youth league of the ANC. The apartheid policy in South Africa was fully implemented in 1948, and in 1952 Mandela and his friend and colleague Oliver Tambo opened the first black legal firm in South Africa; they were deeply involved in the ANC defiance campaign and offered cheap legal service to the black community.

Investment / Seven Secrets Of Self-made Multimillionaires by afroprofile: 2:04am On Dec 16, 2013
First, understand that you no longer want to be just a millionaire. You want to become a multimillionaire.

While you may think a million dollars will give you financial security, it will not. Given the volatility in economies, governments and financial markets around the world, it’s no longer safe to assume a million dollars will provide you and your family with true security. In fact, a Fidelity Investments’ study of millionaires last year found that 42 percent of them don’t feel wealthy and they would need $7.5 million of investable assets to start feeling rich.

This isn’t a how-to on the accumulation of wealth from a lifetime of saving and pinching pennies. This is about generating multimillion-dollar wealth and enjoying it during the creation process. To get started, consider these seven secrets of multimillionaires.

No. 1: Decide to Be a Multimillionaire – You first have to decide you want to be a self-made millionaire. I went from nothing—no money, just ideas and a lot of hard work—to create a net worth that probably cannot be destroyed in my lifetime. The first step was making a decision and setting a target. Every day for years, I wrote down this statement: “I am worth over $100,000,000!”

He played for Barcelona from 2004 to 2009 and later moved to Inter Milan. One of his great deals was the three-year contract with Anzhi, a Russian club owned by the Suleiman Kerimov, in August 2011; a contract that offered him $25 million per season. Not surprisingly, his move to Anzhi was considered to be highly motivated by the salary he was offered. He most recently signed a one-year contract worth with Chelsea and has multiple endorsement deals. He is one of the most highly decorated African players having won the African Player of the Year award 4 times during his career in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2010.

Investment / Dubai’s Most Luxurious Hotel, Burj-al-arab by afroprofile: 8:38am On Dec 15, 2013
Although the structure was finalized quite recently, in 1999, during its relatively short lifetime the Burj Al Arab came to enjoy the same fame that world-renowned historical landmarks do. For Dubai, the Burj Al Arab is what the Eiffel Tower is for France and what Big Ben is for England. While the exterior of the Burj Al Arab expresses an ultramodern architecture and vision, the same cannot be said about the interior, which is an interesting blend of both occidental and oriental elements, a gentle passageway between tradition and the present.

Literally meaning the Tower of the Arabs, Burj Al Arab is Dubai’s most luxurious hotel, commonly referred to as the only 7 star hotel in the world, although it is officially classified as having five deluxe stars. One of the most spectacular buildings on the planet, renowned for its height and postmodern architecture, it managed to redefine the meaning of opulence. Even though it is no longer the tallest building in Dubai, surpassed by the Burj Khalifa, the tallest in the world, it remains the symbol of the emirates.
