The problem with most Nigerians is that they want to buy block, cement, roofing sheets and all building materials today, and move into the house next week. They are not prepared to wait for you to build it gradually. So,when they come back next week and the house is not ready, they'd say you don't know how to build.
OMG, that was aptly put. There is no patience at all. The reason we have unending gridlock on roads.

Both graphs measure electricity so you probably don't know how to read a chat. The total is falling too so I don't see your point! Per capita, if you know anything about economics, is on an individual basis so that is an even better measure to see how much everyone is fairing. For example income per capita, GDP per capita.

Really you have no point, I'm sorry
I have a point because Sambo was talking about total electricity generation not per capita electricity generation. The total electricity generation may increase but because of population growth, per capita may not increase with the electricity generation.

That brings to question why we had electricity problem in 1984-85 when the population was about 100 million and the exchange rate was 76k to a $1

He is not lying, according to the Financial Times, power generation in Nigeria is "low and falling"

See chart below.
If you read that chat well you would have seen that what you referred to as low and falling is the per capita.

The electricity is top with dashed line.
The graph also shows that as at 2010, power generation was at the lowest.

You are funny. Do you realise these are nomads? They roam and lay claim to no particular spot. So they should byy land along all their routes all over Nigeria. That amounts to buying half of Nigeria.

By the way there are now Fulani nomadic settlers in the MB, SE and SS. Guess what: they paid for their newly acquired land with cattle. I see a time bomb coming because the original inhabitants already see them as threats. There were cases where settled Fulanis have killed people in Nsukka for example due to disputes.

Please your solution is childish at best.
All these "they are nomads" was taken care of by my "this is 21st century". They don't have to roam from north to south. They should buy grazing lands.

I don't know why people are misrepresenting and twisting the words of Gen Muhammadu Buhari. As a citizen I am 100% in support of Press freedom, so is the General. However, freedom of the Press shouldn't be absolute otherwise they will be used to cause anarchy. If the press have anything against any public officer and they are really sure about it, they should publish it and allow for Government prosecution. They have to be sure and not gossip or be used to persecute officers on the pages of newspapers. However, false reportage using "our source" that will neither give a lead nor help a cause, and also fabricating news and ascribing to public officers should not only be discouraged but should be criminalised. The Whistle Blower act should be passed/strenghtened to protect those with valuable information. The Press needs to carry their jobs with ethics and checks like other professions. All arms of government have forms of checks and balance. We need to protect government officers too from false and malicious embarrassment.

So you can see that it is a viable solution I brought up since this idea has been proposed in the legislature and at the National Conference.

What has GEJ done with the National Conference proposals? Absolutely nothing. Implementation is the problem of Nigeria especially GEJ's Gov't. GEJ and PDP are a joke.

By the way, it is not the size of the Police as mush as it is how effective the Police is. Fulanis and host communities are humans like all other Nigerians. They're not animals.

If you truly like your Idoma people, you better follow Audu Ogbeh to APC and stop supporting the slavery of the Idomas under PDP.

QED.
No, you suggested a failed idea which means you think like every other person and nothing complex in your thinking. If your thinking was to be critical, you would have known that such idea would not work in a multiethnic country like Nigeria where inter-ethnic suspicion and derision is still rife. Your suggestion was shot down before it was read in the house.

Yea, get 1000 effective policemen to look after Nigeria.

I told you earlier that you make an assumption you wish to be true and you take it to be true and work with it without testing the validity of your assumptions. It is part of your problem.

Simple,
1. Dedicated cattle rearing routes from the North to the South, so that farmers will also steer clear of those routes. They will be Gov't reserved areas.
2. There should be effective policing of these routes and surrounding communities. Not the kind of police that got wiped out by Ombatse in neighbouring Nassarawa State.
3. If Fulanis pefer to settle in alien communities in the MB and South, there should be a Gov't monitoring process so that it doesn't lead to future skirmishes. Many communities collect money and cattle from these fulanis in exchange for land. Later when a dispute arises, they start crying foul. Those nomadic Fulanis still believe in settling dispute by the sword. Fulani or indigene should be prosecuted where found guilty.

It will take a comprehensive plan and dedicated monitoring. This the kind of thinking that APC will trump PDP in any day any time especially under GEJ.
If you follow things in this country you will know that a bill for a reserved grazing area had come out several times and was shot down. http://www.punchng.com/news/senators-fight-over-grazing-land-for-fulani-herdsmen/

I think it popped up again during the national conference....

You think we should take out some police that is not enough for humans to guide animals in the bush?
The fulani are naturally lawless in this country. Buhari refused to honour Oputa panel invitation and he has refused to submit his wasc certificate telling us to go to court. So what do you do about that?

The bread is available. I watched the event on TV though. Its like I mixed up the commissioning of the equipment to raise the bar to 20 % with having that already.

I am too honest to lie. Check my posts! If it is not the fact, I don't go there.

But I can as well say that getting the equipment to enable the actualisation of 20% is as good as getting actualising the 20%.

Bottom line, Cassava bread policy is not a failure. It is a success. When the president talked about it in 2012, you mocked him.
How long does it take to carry out research for a new product?

A three -year phd studentship is awarded in the UK and sometimes nothing comes out of it. A 2-3 year postdoc(renewable) can also be awarded. Here, GEJ proposed a hypothesis in 2012 and by 2014, we have reached almost the final milestone and you call that a failure? Failure on whose scale? APC?

Sebi NA is claiming that they're reclaiming border towns from BH. Work wey Chad do una claim am.

Oya protect Maiduguri lets see. No Chadian forces to help this time.

Sai Buhari

Edit: This is not a wish that Maiduguri falls to BH. But we have analysed that the NA cannot withstand a sustained BH onslaught on Maiduguri.

Remember it was last Sunday that BH attacked Maiduguri at first. No effort was made by the Nigeria Army to do a counter attack on BH forces to dislodge them from surrounding villages.

So it is obvious BH would return more prepared. Unless Chadian air support comes in Maiduguri is likely to fall.

My point is that until the rot in our armed forces are exposed, Chad etc may help us clear Boko Haram this time but next time it may be Chad attacking us. Who will help us if that happens?

We need reforms asap in the military even if it takes some collateral damage.
. We know you will be very happy if Maiduguri falls. Your disclaimer does not change anything. But I wonder why a sane person will desire that misfortune will befall his neighbour because he wants a political point.
PoliticsRe: Segun Adewale Allegedly Fires Shots Into APC Campaign Office by agabaI23(m): 10:49am On Feb 01, 2015
eleko1:
PDP......NEST OF KILLERS.
Not restricted to PDP alone. What has become of the APC governorship aspirant who was charged for murder? Violence should be condemned without politicizing it.

The atmosphere of the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court was tense on Tuesday when a former Commissioner for Rural Development and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Tola Kasali, 62, was arraigned for murder.

Arraigned with him were the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Politics and Legislative Matters, Musiliu Folami, 64, and Kasali’s Chief Security Officer, Tobun Abiodun, 38.

The court was filled with party loyalists, supporters and family members of the accused persons, as many others stood outside the court.

They were arraigned on four counts bordering on murder and unlawful possession of firearms.

The police said the men conspired to kill one Musiliu Lamidi on November 9, 2014, around 2pm at Eko Tourism Hotel, Akodo, in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

The police added that they were found in possession of a pump-action gun, with number 6381, without a valid licence issued by the appropriate authorities.

The corpse of the deceased was said to have been found on the premises of one of the defendants.

The offences were said to be punishable under sections 231, 221 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 and Section 27 (b)(1) of the Firearms Act, Cap 28 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2011.

Their pleas were not taken by the court for the offences.

However, a senior state counsel, Femi Adamson, who came from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, invoked a section of the law to take over prosecution from the police.

He said, “I am a senior state counsel and I want to take over the prosecution of this case. This is pursuant to Section 211 (1b), (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.”

The leader of the police team from the legal department of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Godwin Osuyi, said it was not right for the case to be taken from the police since the police had only sought to remand the defendants in custody pending legal advice.

Osuyi, after agreeing to step aside, said, “Before I step aside, I wish to state that they were brought before this court for remand. They have not been formally charged.”

But the court ruled that since the case belonged to the state, it could take charge of it at any time.

The state prosecutor, Adamson, thereafter applied for the remand of the three defendants in custody, citing Section 264(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, 2011.

However, the leader of the seven-man defence team, Taiwo Ajala, opposed the application for remand.

According to him, there were no allegations before the court, but mere rumours, which should be struck out.

He said, “So far, what are before your honour are not charges, but mere rumours, which have no place in a court of law. These rumours have been elevated to the point of allegations.

“To raise rumours to allegations, one would have expected the prosecution to depose to an oath so that the court can look into it. But this is missing.

“Accordingly, I apply that the defendants be granted bail. Jurisprudentially, the reason behind remand is if the court is not sure that the defendants will attend court proceedings from time to time.

“I crave the indulgence of this court to the social standing and circumstances of the defendants. The first is currently the special adviser to this government. The second has a lot of prefixes to his name. He was a former Commissioner for Rural Development. His impacts are felt on our roads. He was also a former Commissioner for Special Duties, while the third defendant had, at different times been a chief security officer of the state. They are all known by reputation.”

Ajala said if the defendants were not granted bail, it would affect the running of the government and the residents of the state.

After making his submissions, the prosecutor said he was not objecting to bail.

“With all due respect, bail is at the discretion of the court and the court is guided by principles. I have come to realise that these are people serving the government of the day in different capacities,” he said.

The Chief Magistrate, Tunbosun Abolarinwa, in his ruling, expressed disappointment in the prosecution for not being able to support the remand application brought before the court.

He said, “What is before the court is a remand application, but the police who brought it have not been able to support same. This is probably why the defence counsel referred to the charges as mere rumours.

“If their movement is restrained, it will bring serious discomfort to them and people associated with them and will be a disservice to the society. This court sees them as people who should uphold the law of the land and the orders of this honourable court.

“This court has confidence in their ability to show up in court.

“The reasons for remand brought by the prosecutions are not reliable and cannot sustain the charges.”

Abolarinwa granted the defendants bail on “self recognition” and ordered the prosecution to verify their addresses and places of work.

The matter was adjourned till December 11, 2014 pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
