Travel › Re: Nigerians In The Diaspora Would You Move Back Home ? by agabaI23(m): 2:13pm On Oct 27, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: Not really. I have no plans to relocate. Not everyone of us are immigrants here. Many have actually made their homes in whatever countries they have found themselves. By the way, Are you going to include Job security in the package as well? I ask this because it is not simply the case that people do not know how to move back to Nigeria. It is more the case that they consider the risks higher for them down there than wherever it is they currently are. For instance, a man with a good job here, with no papers, would probably want to move back to Nigeria fulltime so he does not have to keep running up and down for papers. Problem however is this same man understands that should he move to Nigeria, there are no guarantees that he can continue the next to comfortable situation he has set up for himself here or can currently afford here. So he is hesitant to move back and probably ends up looking for visa wife or some other crooked way to continue to run function under radar. Very important points that explain your disposition towards issues in Nigeria. Sorry OP for this 'offtopic' post. |

maedan: When all the judges agree like that, you just know they're patronizing the hell out of the singer. Not to justify her, but I think, to deceive her into thinking she still stands a chance. If she last more than a week I'll be shocked. I was surprised when I saw them applauding her really. I thought her performance was pathetic. You could see that on Cheryl's response. |

^You wrote all these without mentioning the prowress of Bale? Did he snatch your wife? didoflex: Breathtaking!!!!, with 3 goals down and no more tension I had a good look at the players and their play and when the 4th came I was like oh well, thats that!
I kept on shouting at my TV that the wingers (Bale&Lennon) should run the guys on either flank, then they started in the 2nd half.
Lennon did not do as much as cut in when he had chances, he rather crossed most times except the 3rd goal (this Theo does well for Arsenal, but he lacks the crosses)
At WHL it will be different, Zanetti, Chivu etc CANNOT handle the spead of the Premier League Players! Thats the key, Poor Gomes won't play again but Cudicini did decently.
The defence is pathetic though without Dawson/King or Woodgate, we need 2 central defenders in January to finally replace the crocked duo of Woody and King! Harry should just give up on them finally and move on no matter how hard it is.
We can't keep changing our defence line always,
All in all, a gusty display, But one thing: We have gained the strength to do the fight back (which we never had), but we still have not learnt how to calm down for the first 10-15 minutes.
I think we should have played a real 4-5-1 or even a 5-4-1 for the initial stages to clam down properly. Inter have the pedigree we don't have yet and we needed stability for the first few minutes which we didn't have. All in all good show! Proud of the gusty display lads!!!! |

Politics › Re: Abuja Blasts Latest: Sss, Efcc Trace $20m To Politician’s Account by agabaI23(m): 1:43am On Oct 07, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: A Fact is any statement that constitutes truth. If being a card carrying member of PDP makes him a politician then I must be a Politician as well since I am a card carrying member of the green party myself. ***rolls eyes ***
He was Political Campaign Manager in 2007. That by no means implies he is a politician. What next? Wole Soyinka is now a Politician because he has lead some campaigns to get one or two persons elected or removed from office? Come on now! If you have no clue what the job responsibilities of a Political campaign manager are, then may I suggest you do some GOOGLING/Research to educate self.
Again, you cannot manufacture FACTS out of thin air. At least do some research to educate self. I hate having to repeat myself . . . scroll back up and consult the links provided already.
The way I see it, this habit of tacking on a title that does not even apply to most every tom, di-ck, and harry out there is to why we have so many nonentities out there running around pretending their personal opinion on issues relevant. You open the papers sometimes and you wonder why in the world some characters still feel it is their place to speak for Nigerians just because. Can you please define who a politician is in your own terms? Dictionary.com says pol·i·ti·cian [pol-i-tish-uhn] Show IPA –noun 1. a person who is active in party politics. 2. a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles. 3. a person who holds a political office. 4. a person skilled in political government or administration; statesman or stateswoman. 5. an expert in politics or political government. 6. a person who seeks to gain power or advancement within an organization in ways that are generally disapproved. Use politician in a Sentence Origin: 1580–90; < F politicien. See politic, -ian
—Related forms non·pol·i·ti·cian, noun self-pol·i·ti·cian, noun
—Synonyms 4. Politician, statesman refer to one skilled in politics. These terms differ particularly in their connotations; politician is more often derogatory, and statesman laudatory. Politician suggests the schemes and devices of a person who engages in (esp. small) politics for party ends or for one's own advantage: a dishonest politician. Statesman suggests the eminent ability, foresight, and unselfish patriotic devotion of a person dealing with (esp. important or great) affairs of state: a distinguished statesman. Check the first definition in particular. How can you say a card carrying member who is even a campaign manager is not a politician? Wikipedia: . . . Considered a politician In a state, a member of the executive branch of government, or the office of Head of State, as well as the legislative branch, and regional and local levels of government. Any person influencing group opinions in his or her favor can be termed a politician. For example, a worker participating in office politics is a politician, but only so far as the operations of his or her workplace are concerned. Some law enforcement officers, such as sheriffs, and many judges who are elected or appointed because of their political views or popularity. Dokpesi is a politician. |
