Tony Spike: From the little I've seen on this thread, it is obvious that Lagos State is positioning itself as a model. This state is almost on the verge of been run as an independent country. Fashola is building institutions with contemporary world-class concepts and professionalism, which is a very "unNigerian" approach.

Fashola has proven that regional/state autonomy from the Federal Government must be initiated as fast as possible. Regional autonomy is the only way to fast track Nigeria's needed development. The FG should step down and allow this regional constitutional right to happen. If full autonomy with resource control is re-instated, Nigeria will only need a few years to catch-up with the likes of Malaysia, Singapore e.t.c.

Finally, whatever is going down in Lagos reflects the fact that the state maintains a huge wage bill and massive capital expenditure, which answers to some extent, the question asked by a certain folk on this thread.

“But for me having bought this machine, the next step is how we are going to make this machine. I have already challenged the engineers, the next of these machines must be made in Lagos and they have the research funds and all those materials and we are not just going to be consuming. Everything we buy now, we want to know what works inside and how it works”.

I took a look at those photograph and what struck me the most was how clean the waste management office was.
International standard I may add.
I have been to many government (federal and state offices around nigeria) and all you see are cobweb ,dirts and absent civil servants.
IT show what good leadership can bring to a state.
Personally , I will like the SW governor to challenge the unconstitutional vesting of the power ,transportation (rail and ports) in the federal government.
The ports especially fall under the definition of a natural resources and Lagos state ought to derive revenues directly from it.

chino24: Its an insult comparing Anambra to a rural state of Oshun. In all indices of development Oshun is an under dog to Anambra! Even Ebonyi which some of you consider somewhat is far ahead of Oshun in development and advancement.

This was the same way you guys claimed that you people are well read and educated until Jamb and Unity school busted you guys. So forget about this newspaper based IGR generation when in the reality its all hoax and mirage. We know why we classify our IGR here in Anambra, if it is made open you guys will have heart attack..lol
