More of Spike @ almost 13 months...this guy has grown into a super guard dog without any training whatsoever. He doesn't like strangers walking within 12 feet of our see-through gate or fence, but strangely though he has no problem with any stranger that comes into the compound accompanied by a family member... sometimes I wonder how he learnt that, but I'm simply lov'n it... cool
wow.......dis ur rott na solid.
funny enough, his not done growing and yet his this big.

All the dogs I've seen all My life are poo eaters. I wonder what part of them makes them a love creature. The irritating set of teeth abi the ticks and fleas they harbour?
it all depends on how u treat ur dog. if u don't bath them properly, they harbour ticks and fleas......if u don't feed them properly, they eat poo.And their set of teeth are to die for. love dogs bro...they make us better persons

Feeding our pets one particular type of food on daily basis is not just advisable (for me), our dogs should be fed different kinds of food just the same way we change different meals daily depending on the ones we can afford because i personally believe that "balance diet" don't just work in humans but in dogs as well.

In the image below is a bowl of swallow, this type of swallow is called "elubo" ( a type of food gotten from cassava, which is then processed, dried, grinded into powder form then prepared with hot water just the same way semo is being prepared. While the other stainless bowl contains nsala soup, a type igbo soup popularly known in Nigeria, The one above is prepared with fresh fish, okporo and dried bush meat almost in a pieces form

I sometimes mix the elubo with grinded powdered corn which if prepared by the hausas is known as "tuwo masara" while the Igbos call it "nni oka".

Murphy's favourite soup is nsala maybe because it's spicy and kinda pepperish while Gustaf's favourite is draw soup (okro ogbono mix) it tastes good so nothing to be surprise about.
it is very advisable for dogs to have a balanced diet. feeding them just one type of food every single day is nt right. Except d food contains all necessary nutrients needed by d dog

Chai ur pup really would have been a very nice dog, Rip.

And ur local dog seems so lovely, would u love to get another foreign dog soon?
I will definitely get another foreign dog soon.

Awch maybe you failed to socialize it at early stage

What breed do you own?
yea, I didn't socialize it properly.I own a local Nigerian dog.I know people hate those dogs BT I just love him so much. I wouldn't exchange him for any other dog.

people were insulting me ,asking me y I had to own a local breed. I told them DAT I didn't care but with time, d insult started to get to me .So I bought a German Shepherd which died after 2 months of me getting him.So now, its just me and jack

Nop bro he isn't aggressive. Aggression and guard instincts are two different things for me because an aggressive dog wouldn't take any command from the owner, they act out of aggression even when they're supposed to calm down

That also leads to food aggression and controling such dogs won't be easy at all

Murphy has good defensive instincts which means he'd guard his territory well but would comply once i instruct him to STOP.

I'm having problem with my main account @Vincentjk so i decide to reply using this account
you are definitely right. My dog is very aggressive, he doesn't listen to me any time he sees a stranger.he has been DAT way since he was 3 month old.he goes mad any time he sees a stranger.
But I thank God he doesn't have food aggression. That would just be horrible

yes unlike Gustaf, Murphy got nerves to face anyone he finds as an intruder. I know with time Gustaf will change just as Murphy did when he was almost 2yrs old

The pic below was taken some months back when my friend visited, i told Murphy to attachk him just to make him shiver a little ( Murphy was chained up so he wasn't gonna bite him)

Yes gustaf is still growing thou everything has to do with feeding, I even got them some chicken yesterday and it's still inside the fridge
Murphy really looks aggressive

I pity ur friend if DAT chain cut

Was dressing my coconut this evening, trying to get the shell off and Gustaf came out from no where requesting to to be given his share ( as if we contributed money together for it lol ).. I refused giving him any because my plan was to soak garri with my coconut but this boy wouldn't allow me, gave him a little of it then sent him away so i would enjoy my garri and coconut
I usually don't come out at all when I am eating.I prefer to stay inside because if I eat outside,my dogs charm will surely make me split my food into 2

Gustaf is going to be huge when he is fully grown.

A friend of mine whom i see like a brothelr brought his female dog yesterday for mating, he has always liked my boy so Murphy fathering his pups isn't just a nice combo but also a privilege to him lol

The brindled colour female dog's name is Nicki, she's got a very low drive probably inherited from her parents (Neapolitan mastiff X boerboel). Nicki is bigger and heavier than Murphy although Murphy is just 1month older than her.

The stud service went well so we're waiting for positive result cool
Nicki is really huge

wink I like that smile...but there are no losers or winners here on petland. I believe I gained just as much as I gave, maybe even more. Never knew anything about BPA until now & neither did I know that raw chicken bone was safer than cooked.

Debates are all about learning, especially when they're backed up by documented facts, rather than hearsay.

Thumbs up...We are all winners here!
you're really humble.......datz nice.......well done sir
PetsRe: Murphy the Boerboel and Gustaf the German shepherd by agboedeh: 8:52pm On May 30, 2018
Rany4all:
Well not all of them contain BPA, and most of them preserve by cooking, microwaving or steaming....

But that is besides the point...the argument is cooked vs raw meat, and somehow you have taken us to 'chemicals'...
cooked chicken is good, organic raw chicken is also good for dogs.Feed ur dog d one u are more comfortable with

I guess you've not heard about the dangers of using something as common as antibiotics in livestock farming, or maybe you want to tell me that your live chickens don't ever get sick and you never have to give them drugs. When reared chickens fall sick they are give different drugs and these drugs remain in there body for a while even after they're well. When you kill such and use the meat to feed other animals or humans these drugs are consumed unknowingly. Such drugs taken passively from reared livestock can harmful effects on the consumers.

Sometimes even chickens that are well are also given drugs as well for prevention?
most meds given to chickens are also given to dogs, goats sheep and cows so don't tell me they are harmful to dogs.

Rany4all:
You can never be too sure of your source when even your source cannot be 100% sure that the meat is free of any pathogens...think 'incubation period.'

Even if you reared the chicken yourself and noticed no symptom of disease before killing the chicken, that does not mean the chicken was free of all potentially harmful pathogens or parasites...hence safer to cook. That's just my point.
well, its always necessary to vaccinate ur broilers and give them medications for potential diseases when rearing them to avoid any loss. So I can say DAT our broilers are free from diseases.
