We have admitted over and over that malinois are better working dogs due to their intelligence,desire to please and stuff like that but bigger dogs like mastiffs are better guard dogs.Afterall that's what they were created for.Who would want a slow stubborn Caucasian as an attack dog?It can't even fit in a helicopter when going on missions! But it excels on defending livestock and property.Why would I want a malinois to defend my flock against wolves and bears?They'll rip it apart! But it's one of the best working dogs out there.This argument started with someone crossing malinois over to the guard dog role.And claiming they outclassed Rottweilers and mastiffs at it.No one said Caucasians and their kind were necessarily better than malinois.But they are better guard dogs.That's for sure.You also need to be able to largely subdue the target.Malinois seem to lack the size and strength to fully accomplish this task.
Another thing is the overhyping.Malinois aren't the strongest or smartest dogs out there.You don't need to be an expert to know that.Yet some people were acting like they were extremely strong and powerful dogs that can take down anything that moves.We both know this isn't true.They are determined yes but im not sure they pack the punch to do such.Even gsd are stronger.
That's what stretched this argument this far.

What makes a dog a good guard dog? Yall ve brought out fact about bite force, but are bites all what it takes to be a good guard dog? Caucasians and the rest are strong no doubt, but does it make it a good guard dog? Not every shreded guy can fight, If u are into fighting sports, u would know there are smaller guys who beat up giants due to thier skills.
Malinois may not be as strong as a caucasian, but they are smart enuf to defeat a caucasian.
I do not have an actual real life scenario to explain dis to u, but I will make reference to a movie, d movie showed wat will happen in a real life scenario, watch the movie "Max" two rottweillers were sent to take down a malinois, ofcourse in a show of strength dey will devour d malinois, but a malinois knows dis, it outsmarted dem by running them tired until he took his strike, nd it was severe.

Effectiveness is better dan muscles. Shreded men are used as bouncers to scare people away, but to take down a bad guy, espicially if its a chase, the smaller the better. And security agencies know dis. Work smart nd nt with power.

I am nt comparing the two breeds. in fact , what I am saying is DAT they sud nt be compared cos they were bred for diff purposes. wat we sud compare d malinios with is d gsd nt kangals or Caucasians.

Proven fact on NL? Why do you think the Russian military and their special forces are investing in a Malinois? Russian is the first federation to try to clone the Malinois because they are the perfect dog for any type of job. A fully trained malinois is worth 30k USD, that should tell you something but like I said before, everyone has a preference.

its nt about preferences, its about fact. I love DDR gsds with passion but DAT doesn't mean I'll put dem above all other dogs.

CO lost her glory many years ago and majority of the CO in this world now are bred for shows. Working people don’t take the breed serious because of they can only work perfectly in a specific weather.

note:malinios were originally bred to herd livestock not guard them.Caucasian and kangals don't herd livestock but guard them from intruders.In other words,malinios were nt bred to kill wolves but just to help move animals like other Shepard dogs.

My first dog was a mongrel(normal street bingo), people that saw this bingo thought it was a foreign breed because I took very good care of it, I was still naive then and disciplined the dog that it became fearful of people so I sold it to dog meat eaters since no one wanted it.

why would u sell d dog to dog eaters..poor dog. No matter what,a dog doesn't deserve to be killed. I would nt kill any dog I own or any dog at all weather mongrel or purest breed, aggressive or fearful.
It was a very cruel thing to do.
Come to think of it..if people saw your dog as a foreign dog,why did no one adopt him.I remember someone offering to buy my dog for 10k then upon I got him for 3k ,when it was just six month old BT I refused cos I have already gotten so attached..mind you its mongrel(local).

the truth of d matter is DAT a trained Caucasian and kangal are not in d same league with a trained malinois and gsd.
the reason police forces recruit the Mali and gsd is because of their intelligence,speed,loyalty and agility.
what we sud compare the malinois with is d gsd not Caucasian or kangal. Caucasian and kangal are bred to guard livestock not to do police work because if all what d military look for in a dog is strength, then the gsd and malinois would be their last option.

I think a new thread sud be opened for dis argument so as not to derail this one.

am so sorry bro....the same happened to my late gsd Murphy. he to was d most hairy and fattest dog in his litter. I went through hell DAT period as well. let me ask u a question. were they given any injection before d development of d issue

Its not all.Breeds like Caucasians and kangals fight to the end.I heard of a Caucasian that took down 3 men that came to steal, with a gunshot wound.Now that's spirit.Even a kangal that killed 3 wolves.

My guy pls don't bring kangal into dis matter oo. Those dogs are beasts.. king of dogs ...they are strong, tall , huge with long canines and will fight to d death. they are also surprisingly fast for their size. I love those dogs

Malinois is overrated but there are more Malinois dogs working in German police than a German Shepherd, that is very strange. The Russians have a caucasian but they will only use Malinois and GSD for their military work.

Like I said before, the 50k challenge is on anyone that has a Caucasian or Rottweiler as guard dogs and I'm open to a challenge as well.

they are recruiting d malinois becos of their speed, flexibility and ability to learn fast.but u can't see d Russians use a malinois to guard livestock from bears and wolves..they would simply ripp d malinois apart.
these dogs are bred for diff purposes... d Caucasian for their strength, bravery... d malinois for their speed,flexibility,intelligence and loyalty(thats what the police force look for in a dog)

@oluomoadebayo before I say anything..just wanna say am a huge fan of ur work. Love ur dogs so much.

belgium Shepherd are more flexible and faster than most security dogs. they have d drive to to learn and are more focused during training. But I would rather go for a DDR because of they have all these qualities (not compared to d malinois tho) and are larger in size(I love huge dogs).
I don't think a pure bred Caucasian would back down from a fight.. I would have to disagree. they are bred to face wolves,bears etc. Caucasian are much stronger than a malinois and I personally prefer them to malinois in terms of guarding d compound.

yea,his dog is nice and has longer coat but I prefer local dogs with a more hunting like appearance.
The funny thing is dat my dog do hunt.he breaks his chain angrily anytime he sight any chicken in our compound. Chases them like crazy and kills dem but doesn't eat them.
he would just put them in front of our front door and move on(was shocked d first time he did dat).had to pay for all d chicken he killed...lol

A month old..wow!! isn't it too early to collect her. I learnt dat dogs taken away from their mother and siblings early tend to have some behavioural issues e.g food aggression

u could buy goat milk or puppy milk in the vet shop.its nt adviceable to give cow milk to dogs pls.start with light feeds like pap and grinded meat or fish. Bath weekly with mild dog soap. pls do nt use tick repellant at dis stage,d pup is still very young. try to maintain a clean environment to avoid diseases. do nt feed bones to d dog.no raw feeding should be done as well cos d pup is still to young.

I always see ppl talk about ticks on their dogs.Mine has never gotten sha(maybe he is a special breed )Are they nasty and hard to remove?Are they as big as files?Just asking.

my dog has Neva had ticks either cos of my experience with my first dog.
unfortunately, I was still a child then so had little or no knowledge about dogs.it was infested with ticks and flies .
I'll advice u to buy tick and flea repellant cos they don't know anything like "special dog".they are blood sucking demons DAT kills a dog slowly.
U have a Caucasian so you must be extra careful cos they tend to be hairy. It could be very difficult to find them in Caucasians but with d repellants,u have nothing to worry about.

Ok.But if you like you can try indomie (They sell in in vet shop around 6000 per bag in ph) and then skip Titus too as sardine is fairly expensive.My pup can eat it up to 25 times plus and he is a Caucasian so its quite a lot( they also love it)Then 100 Naira chicken intestines and parts to complete it and you're set!Rice is also good.I always do it if dog food is not available at the moment.

I don't do chicken intestine instead I'll give give him d main chicken either head or wings mostly raw.am nt a fan of indomie ..I prefer rice with a lot of fish and crayfish and egg(cooked).
