okoro:To be candid, this whole story is getting me so confused I don't even know what to think. At one point they said he lost his certificate. At another, they said he didn't pick it up. They even said he printed the replacement from a third party. What exactly is the real story? I have questions I'm not even finding answers for. 1) How did he misplaced a certificate he didn't pick it up? 2) How did he know the details to include in the reprint if he doesn't even have the certified true copy? 3) Then, what about the signiture on the replacement, how did he get that? Does it imply that the university also allow a third party endorse documents on their behalf? The whole story is becoming rediculously stupid to me. As a matter of fact, I'm considering myself absolutely foolish for trying to make sense of anything related to Nigerian politics. Bunch of garbage as usual. There's a way intelligent things progress and this ond is sounding terribly unintelligent to me. You can't misplace what you don't have and no rational institution will allow you endorse what it is even yet to validate. If a whole university in the US says it allows third party endorse documents on its behalf, I'm not surprised it produced someone like our president. |
Achz:Anyone who took this advice the year you gave it would have lost nearly 60% of their capital because most of the tokens you listed here have lost significant value since you gave this counsel. I guess I now understand why they say that it's not wise to make business decisions based on other people's experiences or opinions, but on an in depth research and valid data. |
ganisucks:I'm a little curious please, like what do you call the one we're doing now? Is there any suffering that could be worse than the one Nigeria is going through right now? Lol. I doubt if any suffering can mean anything to this nation anymore sir. People have suffered and it has become a normal lifestyle. The leaders have done a good job of building a nation that's dedicated to making its people feel the worst of pains. So ignore the dooms message. The nation is already doomed. No other doom can be worse. Don't add emotional pains to the physiological and psychological pains that people are already going through. |
Jedtam:I've been eating roasted corn since as long as I can remember. In fact, some refer to me as bird because my favourite meal is beans and corn (bird food). I'm a few decades old and I can tell you sir/ma, in all my years alive and my adventure with roasted corn, I've not seen this before. I've bought corn for 5 naira, 15 naira, two for 50 naira. But, I've never encountered where anyone divided corn for me. Never. Not in primary school, or even my secondary school days. Even when Nigeria was as hard as hell, we will still get cheap corn to buy whenever rain is falling because they want to sell faster and leave. This is pathetic. It shows how backwards we've gone. We should be ashamed of the country we've built and are building for our children. Divide corn? In 2023? |
Samantha124:I won't be surprised if this is coming from a single lady or a divorcee. |
ElSudani:Because the leaders gave them no choice |
ManirBK:These people are just being delusional, anti-democratic, undiplomatic, uncivilised and grossly backward. Ultimately, I'll say they're just being emotional about what should be personal. Religion is not a state affair. By standard and norms of a democratic society, every form of religion is personal. Asking a state to step in voluntarily and moderate your personal (religion) sentiment against a fellow citizen is the heights of stupidity that no intelligent or learned person should commit. You should know already that there are established democratic processes involved in calling out a foul in any democratically run system. And that involves going to court or approaching authorities involved in fair hearing and social moderation. It feels so terrible and depressing to know that one who is called a professor would condescend so low to try and override a nations process in pursuit of emotions. The fate of a fool to the learned who ditch his wisdom. Simply a national embarrassment in human form. |
vengertime:Whenever you're less knowledgeable about a thing, always ask questions and stop sounding unintelligent. The guy even helped your ignorance by pointing out that the jail term is concurrent. Yet, your emotional myopia will not allow you ask what it means. Kindly take time to read what a concurrent jail term is all about. |
I found something quite disturbing and I feel it's worth sharing. Perhaps I'll get someone to help me get a hang of it About 8 days ago, the news of Bank of America's delegates to Nigeria made headlines: at least on Google. With the news, I "personally" thought we're finally getting a few things right. The part where their analysts said Nigeria naira is undervalued got me quite exited. It even raised my hopes that we might see some better days in the coming year. But, today's news seems quite disturbing. Can these people be trusted? And why is Nigerian government forming alliance with a group of people with questionable integrity and desperate business moves?

INSTANTCASH345:Thanks for always coming through. Fast, responsive and reliable - that's the reason I keep coming back to your platform and its equally a recipe for a great enterprise. I look forward to bigger transactions in the future. Great job! |
So, what value does your writeup provide other than your hope that it would be read by people who have the potential to ask you stupid questions? And that hope is clearly written in uppercase to show its the most important part of the text. |
If I have/had a million naira, will I choose to hire 99% of nairaland writers? Wouldn't that be a little to much writers for whatever task i have? Would that not be a foolish decision? Would I not just hire two or at most three writers and test the results I'll get from their efforts? Would I not take the lessons learnt from that test, optimise it and see how it'll perform if I work with two more? Even if I ignorantly hire 99% of nairaland writers, would I not take enough time to see how my team is performing on the set goals, targets and objectives before going all out? Had I a boss who sent me out into the world to make the most of a million naira content marketing investment, would I chose to invest his funds in this manner? Hiring 99% of Nairaland writers? For what? Would that not say more about my decision making process than it would the competence of the writers i hire? What kind of a visionary, creator or entrepreneur would keep reinforcing a faulty decision until the errors compounded into millions-naira's worth and then turn around to blame it on incompetent workers? Who hired the writers in the first place: hiring one out of every hundred writers? What for? What methods were used to judge the hired writers? And what would anyone do with 99% of nairaland writers? How long did it take you to hire 99% of nairaland writers? Well, I have more questions about this lamentation than I have the time to put them down. Right now, I'll only say congratulations on your million-naira tuition, sir. Lamenting won't help you at this point, sir, if i may. Your millio-naira school fees is there to help improve your organisation, leadership and management competence. Take what you've learnt from the millio-naira experiment and use it to implement better structures for your business. Deciding to handle your business alone will gravely reduce your efficiency. As a matter of fact, you'll be back at the outsourcing table in no time. Cut your loss. Take the lessons learnt. Create a standard operating procedure. Improve your hiring and monitoring process. Compress your activities to the most relevant minimum. Find the sweet-spot. Scale it up. The result you witnessed is not entirely the fault of your writers. Writing is less than 20% of the activities required to establish a successful content marketing business (of which blogging is one). Blaming your writers for the failures you experienced says more about you than the writers you are trying to victimise |
TheManofTomorrow:You, kind of, have a lot of time on your hands engaging this "comedian". What really thrills me mostly in this conversation is the fact that you're holding a rational discussion with someone who's towing the path of "unreason." You know... When you are dealing with Nigerians, as a writer especially, there're some things you'll have to endure. Recently, one "somebody" from the corners of the internet, just like this "comedian", gave me a task to work on. After spending so much time on the task, he turned around and began pushing my pay from one day to another. I did not get my pay until I threatened to drag his brand in the mud. If the allegations raised here are true, which I can't but believe they are, it means these people must have spent hours working on your content; they must have expend data; fueled their gen; and fed themselves while attending to your tasks. Now, you turned around and criticized all the invested hours and resources. You even went as far as calling them lazy. One thing to bear in mind is that these writers didn't come for a writing audition. They came to work with you. There must have been a form of mutual understanding, written or deduced, guiding the transaction. So, coming across like you did them a favour is slightly unbecoming. You couldn't have hired a cooperate agency and end the arrangement as you please, all in the name of dissatisfaction. That's not possible. There'll be reasonable grounds that warrant the termination of agreement. It's insulting, embarrassing and derogatory for you to take the efforts of a fellow human, waste it and turn around to bully them with some flimsy claims of disatisfactory output. Do you think these writers got their subscriptions free of charge? You even went as far as publicly calling them lazy... Why didn't you do your due diligence and verify their competence before allowing them invest their resources and time with you. Why not openly explain to them that you would ghost them if you find their work disatisfactory. Why not lay down clear and specific criteria for the kind of writer(s) you're looking for, Itemizing the qualities that are critical to task? Would this not have eliminated some of the incompetent folks before you even got them on board? You did a terrible hiring job, and now you are here with a motivational speech and unsolicited masterclass: blaming the writers for your own mistake. You even have the boldness to call them lazy. This is terrible. They deserve an apology. They deserve apologies for the reckless hiring process adopted during the on boarding process. They deserve an apology for the scanty (or misleading) information provided in the job ads. They deserve an apology for the unrealistic promises made in the job ads. They deserve an apology for the unrewarded efforts and time spent on the tasks they've completed. They deserve an apology for the bullying comment you've aired above. |
Ordinarily, I'm not supposed to respond to this post because Nairaland happens to be my number one source of client and who knows if you'll be my next client. Or my next client would stumble on this. Lol. You mentioned that you offer an opportunity to average Nigerians who're looking to make ends meet. This statement triggered my response to this post. Also, you said some writers are already working on this gig. To some extent, this resonates with my experience. My first few tasks as a writer were similar to yours. I met the guy on Facebook and he offered me seven hundred Naira per article to write forty articles of a thousand words each. Being my first time writing, I gladly obliged and went to work immediately. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I worked consistently for forty-five days (one month and fifteen days to be precise). Sometimes, the topics were so difficult I'll have to read like someone preparing for a postgraduate exam (blog posts for that matter). I had to spend my own money on data, power supply, food etc. Due to the stress and lack of experience on my part, there was a significant drop in my , my performance and I didn't meet his expectations at all. So, he gave me a piece of his mind, making it clear that I added almost no value to his blog. I still feel the pain of working so hard just to receive a fair share of ridicule. Although He paid me out of obligation, and not truly as a compensation for my contribution to his blog. I felt bad and still feel bad. I wished and still wish things went a little differently than it did. But, we live to learn. I'm sharing this story with you so that your writers don't tell the same tales about their relationship with you. Kindly note that these people will spend heavily on data, power supply, food, back pain, eyes strain and all. There's no way they can get that from the money you are offering them. It will cost them much, much more to produce your content than you are offering them in return for their efforts. On average, they'll need 300 Naira daily for data. Your compensation and can't cover that. They'll also pay Nepa bill and eat at least once a day. While working on your content, sir, power supply may become erratic, distroying their chargers and they'll need to replace it. How can they afford that from the pay? (it happened to me). They themselves may not know what they are getting into. I've been there. It's a terrible experience. Not a thing I wish on anyone. It may be best you review your offer or adjust the workload. I can guarantee that, soon enough, your writers would start looking for better offers else where, if nothing is done to help them feel rewarded. I'm saying this because I know. The cost would soon start piling up and they'll realize they are paying you more than you are paying them. Then, they'll start looking for more gig to make up for the cash leak. Their commitment to your gig would drop. They'll perform poorly at the task. Then, they'll leave for a better paying gig. That's how it happens, always. It's called employee turnover due to dissatisfaction. |
Kate06:You deserve a review. So I've decided to leave one here: hope it counts for good business. Online transactions could be scary and discouraging, especially in Nigeria. But *Instantcashexchange* is totally different in all aspects. *Tested and trusted*. Transaction took less than 5 minutes and the vendor in charge was extremely reasonable and friendly. *I strongly recommend the platform 100%* |
