Thats how you guys spread blatant lies. The SW has the highest representation in GEJ's NNPC board appointment. Also some of the Christian names are Northern Christians.

I would rather not debate ethnicity. But let us set the records straight. The highlighted portion of your comment is not true. You are probably ill informed and thought Oronsaye was representing SW on the board. He is from SS, specifically Edo. I hope that cures your ignorance.
Politics / Re: NNPC Is Now 'northern Nigeria Petroleum Company' - Nigerians Slam Buhari by Aguntasolo1: 12:47am On Jul 06, 2016
GEJ was a very divisive president who, for no obvious reasons, showed undisguised disdain for SW. He probably regretted his actions and learned a bit of lessons from 2015 elections. Regardless of the superlatives generously showered on GEJ on this thread, he is not a pan-Nigerian nationalist in the mold of Obasanjo who, for all his warts, was at least fair to all sections of Nigeria. Similarly, Buhari is a parochial man at heart, a northern irredentist or probably a feudalist. And it is such an unfortunate development that he is turning out to be a northern version of GEJ.

It's unfortunate PDP doesn't have a path to presidency in 2019. Enjoy eight years of Buhari!

It's still a mystery how a Fayemi, a man who published his assets for world to assess, was traded for this looting machine of a governor. But we learn everyday. I hope Ekiti people would learn the right lessons from this going forward that (1) the past is still the best predictor of future performance and (2) even though people do change, they rarely do.

This is a story that best illustrates the incompetence of Buhari's administration. Buhari is ultimately responsible for the budget and he has himself to blame for waiting till eternity to appoint ministers. From the way he handled the budget, it would be clear the budget was not well thought out. I won't be disappointed if nothing substantial comes from it.

I just hope Buhari does the sanitizing of corruption by 2023 hand over to the competent Babatunde Raji Fashola

Don't speculate on speculation. There's no way a Tinubu would grant an interview in Nigeria without it being reported by established dailies. I believe Tinubu did not give that interview.

Besides, it's too early, way too early, to speculate on 2019. The APC that's in power now was not in existence in 2011.

President Goodluck Jonathan said on Monday that his successor would not have any difficulty fighting corruption because of the technology his administration is putting in place to fight the menace.

Addressing party supporters at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign rally in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Mr. Jonathan, who is the presidential candidate of the party, promised to end corruption in Nigeria, if given the mandate to run the country for another four years.

I promise you if you vote for me and I come back and serve this country in the next four years, the next persons that will become the president of this country will not talk about corruption because we are working on technology and we will use technology to block all these areas through which people are corruptly enriching themselves,” he said.

Mr. Jonathan, who has severally accused of condoning corruption, added: “Today we are talking about IT. We are no longer in the analogue generation. So we want to deploy IT to solve problems and I tell you in the next five years nobody will harass the next president for not fighting corruption because I will solve the problem of corruption in this country.”

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, had promised during one of his campaign rallies last week that he would jail corrupt leaders.

Politics / Re: Faleke, Audu Drag APC To Court, As Party Confirms Yahaya Bello by Aguntasolo1: 9:11pm On Nov 30, 2015
The problem with Nigerian judiciary is that it is not predictable. From Awolowo's 12 2/3 to judicial activism in Amaechi's case, it's difficult to say where the pendulum would swing. Bear in mind that there would be some political interference as well.

However, Faleke should still go to court for the following reasons:

(a) The death of a candidate does not render the votes wasted as being canvassed by Wada. Since we can't say because a voter who voted either Audu or Wada last week is dead, his or her vote should be subtracted from collated figures, it follows the votes are not dead with Audu. Therefore, the votes are still valid but questions do arise as to the ultimate beneficiary.

(b) Faleke has a strong case. The election was already concluded and all he has to do is prove the obvious. If he could show that the election was not inconclusive, he would have destroyed the basis for Audu's substitution. With the number of voters with PVC less than Audu/Faleke's lead over Wada, the contention would be the role of PVC in voting process. If it could be established that a voter without a PVC cannot and should not vote, then there is a great question mark on the inconclusiveness of the election. Thus, the real question begging for answer is whether a voter without PVC can cast a ballot constitutionally.

(c) He can't work with Bello. Since a deputy governor is as powerful to the extent the governor allows, it's obvious he would be rendered redundant. He might even be impeached outright. So, he needs to fight it out while continuing his legislative duties at National Assembly.

Politics / Re: Mustapha Audu Speaks On Sugabelly Alleged Rape Story by Aguntasolo1: 11:03pm On Nov 27, 2015
Kennydoc:

You simply know nothing about the law. Even a consensual sexual intercourse by an adult with a 17 year old (who is obviously a minor), is regarded as a rape in the eyes of the law.
Once the Mustapha guy establishes that he had any sexual relationship with the said girl when she was still 17 years old, then he has indicted himself and will go down. It doesn't matter whether she sent him any nude pics or not. Infact, even if she was the one that seduced him, he will still be charged for rape.

As for the nude pics, don't forget that she already mentioned that the Mustapha guy took nude pictures of her, against her will. It was the same pictures he threatened to use against her, which made her live in fear all those years, and refused to report the rape incidents.

I know the girl wouldn't be completely innocent, as some of the reports from the Mustapha guy would indict her, but as long as she was 17 years old then, Mustapha is a goner.

Didn't Yerima marry a thirteen year old? If Yerima was not prosecuted, how would you prosecute Audu whose Sugarbelly was 17 at the time? Even if Sugarbelly was actually RAPED, she wouldn't get justice in Nigeria. You have not been able to convict people who fraudulently enriched themselves even when solid pieces of evidence abound, yet you are sounding confident about a rape case. On a good day, rape is difficult to prove not to talk of ones where there was friendship, then relationship and when the lady in question made written admission such as "I like it when you bleeped me". She doesn't have a solid case. She could legitimately be a victim but her case appears too watery to warrant the sorts of hope being expressed by people.

However, society can shame the Audus but I am not too sure it can go beyond just that.

Politics / Re: Audu's Running Mate, Faleke Writes INEC, Insists He's The Governor-Elect by Aguntasolo1: 2:41am On Nov 27, 2015
Considering a simple fact that one can not vote without a PVC and that the number of voters (about 33000) with PVC in the affected 91 polling units is less than the commanding lead(about 41000) established by Audu/Faleke ticket, there was no basis for INEC to declare the election inconclusive. APC won the election and as such in the eye of law Audu and Faleke were already Governor-elect and deputy governor-elect respectively. With the demise of Audu, Faleke is constitutionally empowered to be sworn in as the substantive governor.

Faleke has a strong case.

Loool, @ the emboldened
Dame Patience Jonathan
WASCE - 1980
NCE - 1989
B.Ed
P.hd - University of port Harcourt

If your sister possess all these degrees and speaks common English the way patience does, I guess you would tell her that is what "you are ridiculously known for".

If you can't understand the Language in which you were being taught for decades, what is the essence of the degrees??

My deizani&Aruma's part was a sarcasm in opposition to Patience's case.

Bye.

Lol. Patience doesn't have a PhD except you want to impose one on her. Really, Patience is not the problem but the schools that awarded those degrees. I am not too sure Uniport would be proud of her. I wouldn't be surprised she got those degrees as a result of connection. Obviously, if she couldn't speak and write clearly, then she couldn't have passed her exams as well. Thus, her degree reflects more on Uniport than Mama peace.

It's possible for her not to understand the language she was being taught for decades! What's not possible is for her not to understand her native language: Izon or Igbo (whichever one). She is as fluent in Izon as Amina is fluent in English . I am not too sure Amina would not turn out to be a Patience if she found herself under similar circumstances.

Summary of your thread, topic and post.
It's all Connection, there is "nothing special about her", she does not worth all these because she is not educated at all.

But those who are have expertise and education have been at the helm of affairs for decades and we are regressing.

We had a former first Lady with all the "Almighty degrees" who disgraced us locally & internationally, she would have been better off speaking our dialect.

Nike Davies-Okundaye - NO FORMAL EDUCATION but lectures those with degrees at Harvard, meets with Presidents but since she is not into politics, no connection.

Go and check the bosses at Nigerian Customs-(worse-off)… You think there is nothing special about her? ComE again, you can only wish.
Those you think that are special because they have all the degrees and expertise have ruined Nigeria.
I will like to see what she is going to do.

My take is she shouldn't have been appointed a minister. She is simply not qualified. If a minister can not show a mere SSCE, what's there to even interrogate? That's my point.

Nike Davies-Okundaye lectures at Harvard. Did it occur to you that she had specialized skills? She is not lecturing there because she could speak fluent Yoruba as a result of her upbringing in Yorubaland. She belongs in the category of gifted hands. What's or are the skills of Amina Mohammed? What can she do that others can't do better?

The point is the former First lady was a first lady by the virtue of being married to a president. Not so? Why is this one a minister when she doesn't deserve to be one?

If people who are well educated "destroyed" Nigeria, what chance does she have?

Amina J Mohammed has nothing special other than her British accent.

Scroll down I actually mentioned it.

**Her father is the owner of United Nations
**Her Grandfather owns Colombia University
**Her uncle owns Bills and Melinda gates foundation

Dame Patience Jonathan has most of the required degrees, she should replace her.

Everything is connection,
Deizani's relative has a child for Jonathan - Connection
Arunma Oteh - Connection
Nothing can ever be based on merit
my list can go on and on.......
**Your typical Nigerian Mentality

This is a profoundly ignorant comment.

Your father doesn't have to own a place before you secure a job there based on connection. Look at the entire trajectory of her career and you should be able to see connection, not competence, clearly written on it. The mere fact that you work with UN, Bill and Melinda Foundation doesn't rule out connection. In what role did she serve at Bill and Melinda Foundation? Because if you look at the job page of Bill and Melinda foundation and go thorough the minimum qualifications required, she shouldn't have been taken for any role except someone intervened. She listed Bill and Melinda Foundation as affiliations. Did she work there and in what role?

Aruma Oteh made a first class from UNN, a known school and then got an MBA from Harvard. She worked in various firms before even that of DG SEC. Diezani got a degree from Howard in Architecture before working with Shell; she has an MBA from Cambridge. She rose to become a director. Although you may be morally bankrupt, yet to achieve such a feat in the private sector, your intelligence must be above average.

This is the key: without Diezani knowing GEJ, she could have been nominated for a minister of petroleum based on her own career trajectory just same way Aruma Oteh for DG SEC. The same can not be said of Amina whose main job was forming nebulous NGO to get funds from government. Clear?

We both know Dame Patience and what she is notoriously known for but I can assure you she would also speak flawless British English was she born and raised in England.

For someone you are prioritizing ssce and different degrees over intellect.

I have already given you my reply in the previous post, go and watch and read about her performance in different things she has handled....

And I will give you examples of people who made it big and are successful without formal education.
This is Nigeria, you must have all the papers before your performance is checked.

Degree > Action.

I think I need to break it down for you.

According to her CV, Amina was born in 1961 and didn't get her first job until 1981.
From 1981-1991 Amina J Mohammed worked at Archon, Norman & Dawbarn a Multi-disciplinary firm of Architects, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Even though she didn't mention her job role, I would nevertheless ask you this question: was she employed in that firm because of her brilliance or intelligence? You don't just become an Engineer, a Surveyor or an Architect because you speak English with a British accent. It's safe to state she wasn't employed in those roles. A young lady in her twenties with no degree, no SSCE could not have got a high profile job in a firm that requires expertise which takes years of training to acquire. Whatever role she got in that firm has nothing to do with high level of intelligence. It is even curious that she listed her specific roles in other organizations except this firm where she worked for 10 years! Since she had no known expertise and training, it is pretty obvious that if she was employed in high profile role, it would be as a result of "connection".

From 1991-2000, Amina J Mohammed served as Co-Founder & Executive Director of Afri-Projects Consortium, Kaduna & Abuja.

This doesn't count since she is a co-founder. Can she deny herself a job? That is, you can't say her performance in her previous role/job recommended her for this position. Whatever it is, one could say she had enough money to float her personal business. Afri-Projects Consortium was engaged by Buhari's PTF in the 1990s for managing HIV/AIDS intervention programmes. Since the firm has no experience in such intervention and the position not advertised, it was a "paddy paddy" connection job. Nothing in particular recommended her firm for that job.

From 2000-2002 Amina J Mohammed served as Private Consultant & National Coordinator for CSACEFA, Abuja.
CSACEFA is a National Coalition of Civil Society Organization (CSOs) working on Education issues in Nigeria. Forty (40) Education NGOs who came together in the run-up to the World Education Summit in dakar in April 2000 formed the coalition. CSACEFA developed a core set of positions and attended the Dakar World Summit to join in the call for quality education for all.

Apparently, when Buhari's job as PTF chairman was gone as a result of transition to democracy, there was nothing for Amina's APC, hence CSACEFA where she was both a private consultant and National Co-ordinator at the same time. And what did they do? Of course, they worked with Ministry of Education! You too can form an NGO and name it anything. You can even name yourself a coordinator of 100 NGOs and then use your connection to work with the Federal Ministry of Education.

From 2002-2005 Amina J Mohammed served as, National Coordinator EFA, Federal Ministry of Education.

Can you see the link between the NGO she formed and the job she got at the Federal Ministry of Education? Connection.

From 2005-2011 Amina J Mohammed served as the SSA to the President on MDGs; coordinating debt relief gains to Nigeria.
And this too? Isn't this connection too?

Of course by the time you have many agencies including Nigeria's presidency listed on your CV, you can easily get job with such firms such as Bill and Melinda Foundation and even the UN. She got that UN job based on her previous role as SSA to President on MDG, a position she got based on connection.

There is nothing special about her other than her British accent. Since she doesn't have any apparent talent, no expertise, no degree, no SSCE, she couldn't have gone that far without connection.

Some people think she made it to the top through "connection" but connection will not get you to UN neither will it tale you to the level of adjunct professor of masters at Colombia University.

For decades, so many people with different degrees have been appointed, how well have they performed?

Its better if your work speak for you and not
necessarily degrees

You should read about successful people from different works of life around the world who had no formal education.

If she didn't make it through connection, through what did she make it?
