An over bloated ego can be fragile but an over bloated ego is not the same as self-love. I know people often think that narcissists love themselves too much because of the term, which was derived from the figure of Narcissist, a figure in Greek mythology who fell in love with his own self-reflection, which eventually led to his death but in clinical term a narcissist is someone who does not love him-/herself too much but too little.

Read up on narcissism before you throw in such terms. Narcissism is the pursuit of gratification. Someone who loves him-/herself is not dependent on the gratification of another. Therefore, narcissism is the result of a fragile ego and not too much self-love.

Pursuit of gratification from vanity or egotistic admiration of one's own attributes. According to Wikipedia, that is.

The bolded is what I was trying to say. Such traits were exhibited by Lucifer himself before he was cast out of Heaven.

So, too much self love made the devil who and what he is today. Same can be said for those who love themselves too much to the point of sharing their selfish love to others.
