KosiGee:Doesn't the law state that there must be information that specifically mentions crime alleged? What are those illegal activities? From where did he observe those? His statements to the Police should be made public as well. Doesn't the law say that one can only be tried and by implication arrested for an offence known to law? Doesn't the law require "reasonable suspicion" to conduct a search of a premises, person or thing? Do those two words "illegal activities" satisfy that requirement? Do those two words "illegal activities" satisfy the requirement of "reasonable suspicion" embedded in our criminal laws? If there was a petition such as the above directed against the top guns in the executive(won't mention names ), would law enforcement have acted in that same way and manner? If they wouldn't why did they choose to act this way in this particular case? Some of us in the profession and in law enforcement know how to make a fool of the law and the justice system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geC7utQuW1E |

Falana is correct. This video explains the power of search by law enforcement agencies in Nigeria including the DSS. Please view it in your spare time, there is no other single comprehensive resource on that power to search or the power of search in video format that explains the position under Nigerian Criminal Law https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1feb4nOOOLo&t=4s The DSS also breached the constitutional and procedural rights of an accused under Nigerian criminal law with respect to searches, this video goes into detail how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geC7utQuW1E The attempted arrest did not follow the provisions of criminal law as well as constitutional law on arrest as explained in the following videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y90xMqjN0lw&t=137s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASOFrb8MJmw&t=1s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhwtGp15DnE&t=6s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMgZXkXKQaM&t=5s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is6Z33yw2ak&t=2s Will come out with a well articulated position paper on the legal issues as they relate to the facts of the instant issue later |

The actions of the Security Outfit are illegal. They are not backed by law. Not any different from the actions of Kaduna State Government and KASUPDA As long as these acts go unpunished, these acts of executive hooliganism will continue. This is a desecration of the constitution using the powers the constitution itself granted. Most unfortunate For more on the position of the law, see https://www.nairaland.com/6343525/fact-check-did-kasupda-nigeria and https://www.nairaland.com/6356418/legal-analysis-implications-press-briefing |

AsiwajuNdigbo:We raised the same issues, see attached. We want to address whether the new reasons stated make the demolition legal or not. We already addressed the earlier reasons provided. El-rufai is not the law agreed. By ordering or approving the demolition, he usurped the powers of the judiciary and thus committed an impeachable offence. You are right to call it a gross abuse of his executive office.
