amodu: Jackson is not an exceptional player, he isn't below par either. What he lacks in his finishing, he compensates for in all-round team play, an aspect he outshines Haaland. We need an exceptional striker at Chelsea that knows how to do his primary duty - score goals. You can go and tell Southampton that you have a striker that lacks finishing but can run with the ball. amodu: As an adult, you should have vacated your childish shell and emptied immature traits and life experiences should have shaped you to embrace discernment, relinquish dogmatism, do away with excessive expectations and come to terms with validity.
Leave this mouth blabbing, enu o se. If na you spend over 1bn on a team with a wasteful Jackson as striker, will you be this insensitive? We saw Delap of fvcking Ipswich hitting the ball with precision against Aston Villa today. To score empty net after dribbling the keeper always becomes problem for our own Jackson and some of you will come and defend a striker that hasn't scored a goal for his country in 16 matches.

Enzo5: We are not tottenham, we are chelsea we have to have a standard and solanke should not be missing those kinds of goals. Maybe because he plays for tottenham and because they won a miserable united but for the 65m he was bought for he has to do better with such chances God bless you o. This is the mentality I expect from Chelsea fans. I just tire for all these Aston Villa mentality from some of our old fans. |

nateevs: Airmark, tell us the natural finisher you want. Last year, it was Vlahovic throughout. Before the season started, it was Dovbyk Dovbyk Dovbyk...... and then Guirassy Guirassy....
Now you are looking every week and seeing that Jackson the wasteful is outperforming your favourites...... then you moved to Gyokeres to make it look like you were always in the know. I don't want to believe you deliberately turned fact on its head, to score cheap points. Let me take it as you being forgetful. I only wanted Vlahovic when it was reported that Juve were opened to 30m + Lukaku during the transfer window before 2023/2024 season started. How you now twisted it to mean I wanted Chelsea to buy Vlahovic throughout last season, is shocking. Furthermore, saying I moved from Dovbyk to Guirassy and now this season to Gyokeres, is you being economical with the truth. The attached image was my post to you and you could see the list of preferred strikers in pecking order. Just as you ensured that you supported Morata's sinking our club, you are on it again with Jackson. You love Chelsea, but your love and string support for the retention of wasteful strikers is appalling. One would think Morata's should have been a lesson, but No. |

Singapore1: This picture doesn't do it justice. I'm one of Jackson's critics, but this one isn't accurate. He did everything right, the defender literally cleared the ball away from the net. It's not like Jackson missed it entirely. Unfortunately this is how a casual football viewer like you and Nateevs will see it, but a sound coach will suspend him to agility and footwork drills in the next training session. I am still waiting for the number of clean chances missed by both Palmer and Jackson. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 2:40pm On Sep 29, 2024 |
nateevs: And if my Grandma had wheels, she would have been a bike.
Maresca understands the Jackson moves the ball during build-up play with alacrity; which allows his system to work effectively. We can get strikers that do that and still won't be as wasteful as Jackson. That's what we need to compete for the Epl title. Without Palmer yesterday, we would have lost, so I don't understand this Jackson being the one making Maresca's system to work effectively. Nkunku rescued us against Bournemouth when Jackson was playing nonsense. Palmer also rescued us yesterday. We know who is making Maresca's system to work effectively and it's not Jackson. nateevs: The system relies on all support casts arriving in the box for a higher xG. Maresca understands that the sacrifice is that Jackson is not as clinical as Haaland, and he still misses a handful..... but the collective team effort will be better for it.
It's very similar to what Maresca said about Sanchez's mistakes yesterday.
Remove Jackson, put Osimhen, and xG for all support casts probably reduces. Osimhen probably doesn't even get to be in position to miss the chances that Jackson is missing in the first place. Overall movement, fluidity and collective effort reduces, which could reflect on overall scoring output.... whereas Osimhen might be topping the charts in the league. Good that you didn't state that Osimhen would be missing all those big chances Jackson has missed. We both agree that Osimhen is a better finisher and that's enough. Claiming that he wouldn't be positioning himself for chances like Jackson does, is speculation that can be easily thrown out of the window with Osimhen's goal stats with Lille and Napoli, with inferior quality of ball passers. Get a natural finisher that won't need wingers to be running into the box all the time, because of his wastefulness in the box and at the same time defending deep as required. We must not kill our support casts because of one wasteful striker. A clinical finisher will relieve such unnecessary burden. nateevs: Don't let actors like Airmark tell you otherwise. I also acted on Morata that you defended shockingly and we saw how it ended. We know how this will end too and who the actor will be at the end of the day. |

Palmer wasted more clean chances than Jackson yesterday How many did they miss each? I am not sure Palmer missed an empty net like this yesterday. You may post the image to remind me.

Amigoss: Have you always had high expectations from your strikers or e just dey start,We all know Chelsea have always not been lucky with a deadly finisher,This is the return of your best ever striker and Legend.....
I wish to know your opinion about him back then I analyse strikers based on chances they get and their conversion of chances. I have had this argument with Dayo and won't renew it with you. Drogba scored 29 goals when he played in an ultra attacking system. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 9:35am On Sep 29, 2024 |
amodu: Perhaps you shouldn't have opposed the assertion prioritizing support cast. It's conflicting to oppose that and at the same time desirous of a LWF.
. Spending over 1bn without a clinical finisher, is foolishness. That's why we are not topping the table today. I was all about focusing more on our attack and we tried but we still failed to bag a clinical finisher. We should be eyeing the title and not reason like Aston Villa fans. amodu: The idea of reinforcement is to get the job done by winning us games and that is happening already. Castigating a player who has outscored all EPL strikes bar Haaland and Duran, and complemented it with 3 assists is hatred taken too far. This is how you detect a poor football analyst of a striker. How many big chances did other strikers get? Only yesterday, we saw the number of big chances he missed because of lack of instinct in front of goal. Like Jackson, you are a joke. amodu: Gen Z? That shouldn't be me. I am mate with your elders on here.
You need to know that dogmatism is not the same as discernment. If you were truely supporting Chelsea before 2000 like me, and still ok with a striker that can't strike the ball, then you are 100% a casual fan. You shouldn't have watched strikers like Hasselbaink, Flo, Drogba, Costa and be comfortable with Jackson's feeble attempts at goal. It's like you are an elder with a childish football brain. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 8:51am On Sep 29, 2024 |
amodu: You can proudly say this now, but when you were told that supporting cast is more important than signing another SF, you strongly disagreed.
The attack you badmouth has been responsible for our 15 goals, the highest in the league so far. No single goal scored by a defender yet.
The same set of attackers; Jackson, Madueke and Palmer doing the job.
Rest and stop being dogmatic. Maybe you didn't have data when I was asking for 1 LWF that could dribble in tight spaces and Timbros was strongly against it. Had we got a clinical finisher, we would have beaten Crystal Palace and be leading the table now and become a strong contender for the trophy after spending over 1bn on players. My opinion on football is too complex for casuals and my high expectation of a striker is alien to Gen Z Chelsea fans. But that's not my problem. Jackson burying this chance would have seen us topping the table today, but most of you wouldn't see it.

timbros: 77 goals last season. Top scorers in the League currently.
Is attack the problem? You asked us not to sign a new LWF and also wanted us to sign an experienced CB. Sancho now has 3 assists in 3 matches. You are a very poor football analyst as we focused more on attack in the summer window against your wish and now winning matches with Sancho and without your so-called experienced CB. Replace your wasteful and epileptic Jackson with a better finisher, and we will be a strong contender for the Epl title. Cover your face in shame.

"I said to Robert [Sanchez] and the players, 'from now on, we are going to concede 10 more goals like the way we conceded the second goal'. It's the way we want to play. We already scored goals with Robert involved in the build-up..."

Airmark come and cook. Outscore Some see it as bragging, but unfortunately not everyone understands football and they argue blindly with me on this issue. They said I was asking for cricket scoreline. Maresca is an intelligent coach, even if he makes blunders, he understands the basics and the most important aspect of the game.
