BankoleNco:
Hey guys,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'd go ahead and post here as it is related to health (depression).
Well, I don't want to bore you with long sermon-esque writings, so I'd skip the fancy stuff and go straight
to the point. I'd be turning 30 mid next year and its really eating me up! I feel depressed and old! Its been
giving me sleepless nights and middle of the night insomnia I wake up 4.00 am for no reason nowadays
and just stare at the ceiling lost in thought and scared as hell with thoughts of being in the twilight of my youth,
knowing I'd have to get married pretty soon, just 10 years away from 40, no more clubbing, no more spontaneous
Saturday drives. The worst part is I spent MOST of my teenage and youth life in self development and didn't have
time to indulge in some most of the activities attached to youthful exuberance. Its paid off, yes! But, I AM DEPRESSED right now! sad
Did any of you guys currently 30 and above experience same? Would really help if someone said something. *sigh*
Have you tried using the natural recreational herb? Cannabis ? Good Luck. :-)

CareerRe: Is Getting Married A Woman's Greatest Achievement? by airroseice(m): 9:19pm On Aug 06, 2014
While the idea of "great achievement" is subjective may vary across cultures, I am of the opinion that it boils down to personal views on what is an achievement. For instance, an uneducated and or poor parent in Subsaharan Africa that struggled to send their child to attain a tertiary education might consider it a great achievement while it is normal for folks in the EU. This also applies to marriage. It is tough, especially in a society like Nigeria where peer pressure and social norms prevent people from being themselves and do what they really like.

To answer your question, marriage is the greatest achievement for some women but definitely not "a woman's greatest achievement"; that anomaly cannot apply. Personally I consider "leaving a footprint in this world (offspring)" to be a great (if not the greatest) achievement for us, however some people may disagree because they don't see the big deal about kids.

I hope this gives you a view on my thoughts.

Cheers.

FamilyRe: 10 Painfully Obvious Truths Everyone Forgets Too Soon by airroseice(m): 4:30pm On Jul 18, 2014
sexzskil: 11. There is nothing like love operating in this universe. Infact ''real love'' is an illusion originated by medieaval trickstars. Whenever a human falls in love, he knows there is a greater gain waiting for him at the receiving end. The synonym of self-centeredness is LOVE. My admonition to everyone is for them to live their lives the way they want, according to how they want nature to regard them. You were born alone and you are going to die alone so why live a life others want for you.--- SEXZSKIL
"Real" love may be an illusion based on your theory, however I think the definition of emotional-love ("real" as you have put it - correct me if I'm wrong) is subjective and the best example I can cite is the mother-child love.

What people "want" in their relationship differs but over all WE ALL APPRECIATE THE FEELING OF BEING LOVED.
FamilyRe: Does Being Married Hinder Some Dreams? by airroseice(m): 4:03am On Jun 29, 2014
Money is important; before you get married and to pursue your dreams (Education, Business, Travel etc.)

Understanding your partner is primary. If you're both friends, the sail should be easier.

Marital decisions are usually collective and quite sentimental. Just remember, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.

nutty_hnic: 21st century reconnaissance airplanes can take a picture of you in your fathers house and know exactly if you are armed or not from more than 40,000 feet.

If you in any way believe that America flew a drone to spy on Ibadan people...u are simply a mad man.

You are a descendant of the chiefs that sold us out cos of mirrors.

It's more than a hundred years yet Nigerians are still stup1d.

Imagine one of the commenters said America will want to spy on an oil rich nation. Jesus.

spinna: i knew it was a toy immediately i saw it, a 4 rotor chopper - a very cool toy you could attach a camera to it and get aerial shots ...filmmaker heaven.

A dangerous drone is practically an aeroplane but with no onboard pilot.

we should all be more science and technology savvy

our technological failing is what led to black slavery and problems we face today.
LOOOL! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? LOL!

Haha! So you're laughing at VIU too? You almost became an Alumnus of that interesting school. cheesy I like your attitude towards the visa situation. *Nice one* I think you deserve better than half-baked institutions with poor Alumni network. Forget about that joke of an interview and nail the GRE to increase your chances of better Grad Schools with funding. Its OK to change careers at any level so if IT is your passion, follow it.
Aren't you the best? Appreciate your kind words, I'm registering for GRE tomorrow. They said I'll have to write in January or February. :*
