I concur with you on this. Hindsight is always 20/20. When all d pepper, tomatoes and Maggi were flying around nobody came out and said "that's a blatant lie. I don't believe your sauce". I'm really shocked at the way people are willing to recklessly give out their BVN! The BVN is a unique identification number that uses biometric data to pinpoint u. I haven't done mine (until I'm sure about data security and how it works) but I'm sure very personal information such as date of birth and mother's maiden name were collected. While one may not be able to hit your account with your BVN (I still doubt this) I can still your identity and with complicit bank staff open and account in your name where I can launder money and do huge huge damage to your credit history. In America no one just throws his SSN around and the BVN is going to end up being our SSN equivalent.

Even the banks are not exempted. Hardly will you see a bank (except wema) that accept HND graduates as a graduate trainee. They are mainly contract staff earning just 30 percent of their BSc counterparts. Yet the rate of efficiency in their work can not be over ruled.
When I was a bank teller, there was a colleague of ours (contract staff) who was the only staff skilled in funds transfer and treating other banks cheques. If he is absent for 1 day, the branch will shake. Even the full staff can not perform like him. Yet, he has spent longer years with the bank than the branch manager and he still earns 83k till date. Guess how much the manager earns...........?

While I agree with you that the pay may not be commensurate, please never ever equate a BM to other staff. The BM bears complete responsibility for the branch. Higher risk demand higher rewards
