janellemonae:
This igbo people and their mouth sef.

Im sure dstv and startimes dont even know anything about this zero rate network.

Just making noise upandan, planting stories and trying to create noise to market a chinese decoder with little legal content. Companies run ads and run promos to market their goods. This one is busy creating random webpages & linking to nairaland. And of course low iq people believe dstv truly cares abt this 7th tier non-network. Smh. Dumbos everywhere.

TV/MoviesRe: Interview With Bright Ikechukwu Echefu, TSTV CEO (Video) by Airtimex(m): 3:37pm On Oct 03, 2017
Ezigbonmadu:
When you're sick you listen to a doctor. When you have technical issues listen to engineers. My advise to you is to hold on for just 2 months before putting your money on TSTv. You will thank me later.
Haba! I should be the one telling you to hold on for two months before condemning them.

if everyone decides to hold on for two months before buying, how are we supposed to know its authenticity...

My bro. 5k is not too much for people to start giving long sermon...
TV/MoviesRe: Interview With Bright Ikechukwu Echefu, TSTV CEO (Video) by Airtimex(m): 3:20pm On Oct 03, 2017
Ezigbonmadu:
Many of the CEO's explanations don't add up. And that is shocking because he is expected to know how his company operates more than anybody else.

He said his company provide 4G internet on their platform. This is ridiculous beyond explanation. You can only have 4G/LTE internet services from wireless broadbands and not from satellites. Other wireless protocols are WiMAX, WiFi, GPRS, 3.5/3.0G. While satellite bands are ku and c bands (and their derivatives). I'm a Communication Engineer. TSTv claiming to provide 4G on a satellite platform is impossible and ridiculous. Except there will be SIM cards on their devices. This is exactly what I suspect because he mentioned 2 things:

1. That their decoder is Android.
2. That the device doubles as a router.

Essentially what they will offer is a smart phone in a big box. They will depend on your local GSM coverage and data for their data uplinks while downlinks are handled by their satellite feed.

My conclusion:
1. Their data speed will be terrible. Hence people buying the device just for data will be frustrated.
2. They are just a third party service provider. They don't have their own satellite feeds. They will also resell internet from main one (according to Dr Bright, their CEO). Thus, as resellers, they can't control or guarantee quality.
Another engineer grin, I don't know why you people have not used your knowledge to save Nigerians from Dstv...

You are all coming out to claim I too know on something you have not even seen the decoder...all these negative comments am seeing about tstv means there is danger for oga Dstv...fear everywhere...

TV/MoviesRe: Bright Echefu Ikechukwu, The Owner Of TSTV (Profile, Photos) by Airtimex(m): 10:14am On Oct 03, 2017
jnwankwo:
Another MMM Scam. Everybody beware.

These TSTV guys are actually reckless. I am really surprised that they brought the minister into this.
I believe that this is another MMM. Buyers beware. This is based on the following:
1. Bein sports acquired the EPL, Champions League and Laliga only for MENA (Middle East and North Africa). They do not have the right for Nigeria. DSTV owns the rights for Nigeria till 2019. You cannot give what you do not have. When a new service is launched, you have to wait for the next bidding round to have a shot at acquiring the rights. You cannot jump in the middle and start showing it. Things are not done that way in the PayTV world.

2.
A lot of channels listed like CNN, National Geographic, Discovery etc were acquired by DSTV on an exclusive basis for DTH in sub-saharan Africa by DSTV. Channels like Star Movies, MBC2, etc are only cleared for middle east and Asia. I really doubt that they have the rights to those channels. They may show it for one or two months before they are asked to take them off air.

3.
I check with a content aggregator on the cost per subscriber for these channels, assuming they can buy the rights, it came out the about 23 USD per month. That is excluding the sports channels. Based on today's naira exchange rate of 365 naira to a dollar, the cost is 8,395 Naira per subscriber. The content owners globally charge per month for their content. They do not charge per week or part of the month. The content owners dictate the terms. Nobody can pay 8395 Naira and charge 3000 Naira. Not possible.

4.
The cost of decoder package is as follows - decoder 25 USD, smartcard 4 USD, dish is 5 USD. Total is 34 USD (12410 naira). If we add shipping and clearing, you can get 15,000 Naira. To charge 5000 Naira for the package, you will need a lot of cheap money from bank to fund the decoder purchase. Buying 15,000 and selling 5000 sounds interesting to me.

5.
To do internet via satellite, you need VSAT equipment which is expensive compared to the dish/lnb you need to receive dstv. Minimum cost of vsat equipment should be not less than 50,000 Naira. If you use the traditional dish equipment, you can only receive. You cannot do internet with it. Unless TSTV will supply you 40,000 Naira vsat equipment for 5000 Naira.

6.
I went to lyngsat and checked the ABS 3A satellite, I did not see any information about any TSTV channels. Lyngsat is the database of all channels currently on satellite.

7.
When you launch a new DTH platform, you start with a test transmission. This allows you to work through some issues that might come up. It also gives people chance to see some of your channels to make sure they are real before committing their money. There is no test transmission from TSTV.

8. EFCC Fraud Charges
EFCC arrested this guy last year for fraud. Not credible.
http://motherhoodinstyle.net/2016/01/23/doctor-who-proposed-marriage-to-wifes-close-friend-4-months-after-her-death-dumped-after-hes-nabbed-by-efcc/

In conclusion, people should ask enough questions before investing their hard earned money. If it is too good to be true, it's probably is. Let this not be another MMM.
My bro. All these epistle for just 5k. Allow us to use it first before you start your criticism...

I don't know where you reside but I am very sure you don't travel...travel to porthacourt or eastern part of Nigeria particularly aba, only few uses dstv over there because they have some company that provides those channels you listed there. They have been watching bein sports for years now...

I wonder where people get this idea of dstv being the only company to show epl, la liga etc.

For you information bein sports has more sports stations than dstv and any company that decides to work with bein sports is a threat to dstv...if you are a dstv agent, you better get ready for competition...

TV/MoviesRe: A Thread For TSTV First Experience And The Hotspot by Airtimex(m): 11:30am On Oct 02, 2017
cooldood:
Oga I am pained cos for many years I have been looking for a real competitor to DSTV,I hate DsTV with passion and till date they still call me to ask me why I dumped their decoders.

My issues with TSTV:

1) Poor start: You don't launch out when you ain't ready to distribute decoders,it shows lack of proper plan

2) Website: This looks unprofessional with the font sizes and colors.i can already project their performance

3) The real reasons why millions patronize the monopolistic DSTV is Soccer- EPL,UCL.Only DSTV have the right for this in 9ja at least for top games.

It's not enough to make noise but you must be well prepared for war in business where a monopoly exist.

TSTV is not prepared.
You are not making sense bro...

If I am you, I will keep the pain to myself instead of going around the thread discouraging people...

I am sure you invested more than 5k in MMM...
TV/MoviesRe: A Thread For TSTV First Experience And The Hotspot by Airtimex(m):
Some people are now claiming I too know on this thread...before now those set of people were patronizing dstv and shouting the money is too much...

You now have a company that will make it lesser for you, you are still shouting is a free channel we are paying for. My bro. You were aware of those free channels before now and you refuse taking advantage of it....

I trust Nigerians, if those channels are entirely free as you people are saying, believe me nobody will be using dstv again...

I was once in the dongle world and I can tell you people the frustration that comes with it...those dongle users knows what am talking about. Qsat included....

So please brothers Rome wasn't built in a day. Lets give these guys the chance first...free channel or not...

Dstv are the current right holders to the EPL, LA LIGA and champions league, so I don't really envisage these products on tstv platform
It depends on what you mean by right holders...in my location I watch premier league, la liga, champions league etc. Guess what I don't have dstv, bein sports show all those leagues you listed...tstv is using bein sports and not super sports...

Much better than Dstv...with #200 I can watch the entire match for the day at the comfort of my home, especially champions league that comes very late at night...

Those viewing centers won't like this...but on the other hand, a good business for them if they can migrate to tstv too. Not everybody will buy the decorder...they will be subscribing only on match days...with #200 they will collect oooo...see business shocked
