it can be overwhelming sometimes but for how to prepare check YouTube, you can even see videos on what to pack and what not to. For the flight booking check Wakanow on google and call their customer care line to find out more information. And for documents to carry check out recent landing gist here to know what documents to hold and not to put in your luggage. I know some are your Arrive can receipt( you have to download the arrive can app on your mobile phone and fill the form, letter of acceptance from your school, your letter of introduction from ircc, enrollment letter, tuition receipt, proof of funds for your stay and most importantly your passport of course LOL…….I will be traveling month end and I can’t even say how quickly I have downloaded some form of anxiety

My Nairaland Brothers and sisters, please let someone help me recommend a forum to join so I can learn what to do after PPR. I got my ppr last week but I am very confused on what next to do like flight booking, Airbnb, how to prepare for traveling etc. it was after five days of ppr that I finally understood how to submit my passport. Please recommend a trend or forum to join so I will not lack behind.

If you've a family member in Canada, you can travel two months before the start of your program. You need a letter of invitation which you will declare at the point of entry to the immigration officer. The letter should state that you will be staying in the relatives place for a short period pending when school resumes.

But you can show them your statement of account printed with you. After printing the statement withdraw the money and change to dollars. You can withdraw a day after nobody at the point of entry will request to see cash as far as i know.

If you parents decide to send you 3.5M to your account, that's fine. Instead use half of that 3.5M to apply for PTA and leave the rest in your account.

You can show the $4000 gotten from PTA to the Immigration Officer. And the remaining in your account, and a screenshot of your parents account statement..

Well you might be right about GTBANK coz I don’t know much about them. But for FirstBank ooo. $VisaGold card is $1k a day limit for ATM and 3$ withdrawal charges, POS & WEB are free and the limit is $6k, while First $VisaDebit card is also $1k with 1.5$ withdrawal charges (POS & WEB) are also free too.

What am trying to buttress out is, if you deposit $10k to any of those account, the charges you needed to withdraw everything outside the country is just 30$ & 15$ respectively which still make sense to me rather than carry cash. Like I said earlier not everybody get that nerve to change and carry that kind of money for traveling.

See on every withdrawal you are charged 3cad and the maximum you can withdraw on the atm per day is 500 cad cash and 1k cad online purchase on debit card. Now imagine paying 3cad on every withdrawal you are losing money which is hard to make here. I will advice u change the money to usd and travel with it. You can travel with as much as 10k usd once decleared. If not make it 9k900usd and dont declear nothing will happen becos you havent broken any law. In fact i travelled with around that amount and took it to bureau the change here and converted it to cad and deposited in my account. Its very simple. You can decide to change in bank too just that the price is slightly lower with few cents

Landing gist!!!
I got to the airport around 5.30 on March 9. They allowed my mum, aunt and uncle to enter with me after much persuasion..
As soon as we entered,the agriculture guys decided to check my bag and I payed 2k for declaration and a certificate I was given…

Next stop was British Airways desk. I weighed my stuff and had to do some rearrangements to avoid extra luggage payment. After that I went to the counter for my documents to be checked.
They asked for passport,Arrive can, PCR test, enrollment letter, and letter of acceptance .
Then I showed them the mail I sent to the school and their reply about how enrollment letter isn’t necessary. The lady sha wanted to be dragging with me. I know my rights. Enrollment letter isn’t really their business here and she took me to her boss and that one said I could check in without it..
She gave me a yellow card for immigration. I proceeded to get me boarding passes and off to meet my family.. this was around past 7.
Chilled with them till about 8 because it wasn’t easy for them just standing so I told them to leave and I proceeded to immigration. I was checked. Some men wanted to ask for money I said I didn’t have naira on me anymore.
Then to the boarding gates of British Airways. We were checked in at 9:56pm and boarded the flight at 10:48pm. Took off at exactly 11:26 to London Heathrow ..

Got to Heathrow at 4:40am (UK time). My layover is for 7 hours�. Did the whole serenren of finding my gate for connecting flight and security checks.. Just ask questions if you need any help, they are always available to help. No go lost o. Lol
Settled down finally at 5:52am.. called family and friends and then walked around to get brush and paste because BA said they didn’t have. I settled down again, made lots of calls and went to get breakfast. Relaxed and waited for my flight to Toronto.. didn’t walk around much because I was tired..

And the boarding to Toronto began at 11:06am
The plane took off at 12.30pm. We had a few minutes delay . Food was still trash. British Airways need to do better with their meal plans.
Got to Toronto at 14:40 local time . I did the self declaration and proceeded to custom to declare what I had as food stuff .
Then proceeded to the almighty Border desk
I was asked for my letter of acceptance and tuition receipt. I had only payed deposit but showed them my bank app for the balance of my fees. I got my study permit
Then proceeded to the arrival Covid test cz I was selected. Luckily I had registered for switch health so it was easy..
Waiting presently for my connecting flight to Calgary. I’m so excited because I’ll be seeing my nephew for the first time since he was born 4 years ago and seeing my sister after 5 years.
Allihamdulilah
My class starts in May so I have time to get familiar with the place and spend time with my family.

I printed a 6 months bank statement. It was a dollar account. You just need to be very calm with them. I think they are interested in your body language too.

About the proof of funds; how much exactly and did you print a new bank statement, if yes how current...how much will be required as sufficient.
