On the issue of Change and Balance, most of those confusions are made up in Nigeria. I still hear people say Change even in US. Change is used especially when it is coins rather than paper bills. Since there are hardly coins in Nigeria, people can argue that saying Change is wrong but the fact remains that whether Change or Balance of money, both are correct.
