As we pray for the war ravaged areas all around the world, I pray that God in His infinite mercies help them to start again and may He bless their endeavors and prosper them. Amen |
He should try and chastised his mind, not all that glitters is gold, the mind is like a chest what is put inside is what will be there, he should encourage himself to get busy, "an idle mind is where evil trives", he should encourage himself to fight temptation and not give excuses for continuous falls, each day he should learn to resist and after a period he will outgrow it. Also he shouldn't stop trying and he shouldn't forget the mercy of God. Lastly and most importantly he should not forget to pray. its better to sin and know you are guilty than to sin and worry not about it. Adam was a man born of unlimited grace but after eating the fruit he fell into sin, hence all through him were born of sin. |
I remember Christ words "I came not for the healthy but for the sick" he stands against homosexuality but tries to see how the church can help remodel them and help them. But I sincerely pray that the church doesn't and never yields to pressure. |
Why is it that people always want to derail the church she does this people complain she does that people ask why, but when it's turn to talk about their own they remember do not judge, I just wonder which kind people be dis ooo. And op pls Catholics don't worship images, to us they are like focal points used to direct our minds, a question can u switch on your tv let it be in your front with the volume up back the tv and pray? my guess is NO. Same way for us Catholics, also when u kneel down and greet an elder same way it isn't termed worship, or during the kneeling process of laying of hands isn't termed worship. |
Good morning family, happy friday to us all, happily waiting for the day 2 novena. |
After all these you have written hope you got some satisfaction, u see truth yet u find every possible way to try and turn it upside down to feel fulfilled, after reading your post you sound so gullible that it can't be comprehended, go and find history and read it well when you done maybe u might retract this thread. May God open your eyes |
BORN CATHOLIC RAISED CATHOLIC LIVE CATHOLIC DIE CATHOLIC There has nothing been more joyous than being in the presence of the Holy Trinity and with our Blessed Mother with you all together. As Catholics I pray that our lives may reflect the true Christ who came to redeem mankind from destruction and bring us to light. I want to thank you all for this forth coming novena and I pray that our Blessed Mother continue to shower us with blessings and more blessings. Amen |
Amerinancy:U haven't scratched half |
Lol the fight and tussle against Catholicism will never end till the day Christ comes, lol mark this post lol, have you ever wondered why it is still as strong and waxing stronger, because it was built on truth and truth can never be hidden, everywhere is full of the Catholic church dis, and dat have u ever wondered who controls and created the internet and just and who has power to blind your eyes. Instead of using ur ample time to look for the little truths placed online u seek how to make urself look righteous, lol, foolish people who always seek self righteousness. |
Big congrats to Oga Italo, mehn chicken is on the way ooo. Many more and more testimonies shall be urs and ours through Christ our Lord. Amen |
The atheist slayer sir why my name nor dey the list, hmm, I pick 21st. Happy independence family |
DoubleDeeX:That is why I am telling you now, saints have been prophesied of the end time and it's extremely near, hold on to your salvation. |
Please let's endeavour to pray the St Michael the Archangel's prayer. Just did some research work on the end time and I was shocked to find out that at the turn of this century many things happened. So let us endeavour to pray and prepare for Christ second coming. |
Why do u people like to look for things that make no sense, what of the letters that have no numbers, have you thought of them. For I have done little research into the end time and I found a whopping truth, the second coming of Christ is around the corner but from the testimony of Saints and days labelled it has been proven that the abyss of the devil has been opened. And no doubt been confirmed by the apparition of Mary and her pleading that the world should turn to Christ in repentance. I then truly believe that the Catholic church in quest for the salvation of man is true. Peace be with you. |
Amerinancy:And still I was like u until Christ opened my eyes, Christianity is love explained and that is what I found. |
The Catholic church stands true as for others I don't know |
Amerinancy:Let me be frank with you and be honest, you dont understand the meanings of revelations (please don't be offended. I just want you to make research especially on st Augustine end time prophesy) den I hope you will understand what is going on in planet earth |
Amerinancy:Pls as a Christian what is your greatest desire? What makes you believe that the Catholic church is wrong? |
Crask:Truly u sound like a child who asks to be fed milk every single time, when the prophets spoke they spoke in future tense, when Jesus spoke He spoke in parables except to His disciples, when His disciples spoke they spoke with wisdom and understanding. Now the pope has spoken in clear simple english easy to understand and u are confused. Sincerely I shake my head for u, because I don't know how u are going to understand the Words of God if u continue like this. Get education and stop wallowing in illiteracy. |
Why do u people like to quote out of contest I have read d full article. Here it is There is a cause for rejoicing here”, although “you may for a time have to suffer the distress of many trials” (1 Pet 1:6). These words of the Apostle remind us of something essential. Our vocation is to be lived in joy. This beautiful Cathedral of Saint Patrick, built up over many years through the sacrifices of many men and women, can serve as a symbol of the work of generations of American priests and religious, and lay faithful who helped build up the Church in the United States. In the field of education alone, how many priests and religious in this country played a central role, assisting parents in handing on to theirchildren the food that nourishes them for life! Many did so at the cost of extraordinary sacrifice and with heroic charity. I think for example of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who founded the first free Catholic school for girls in America, or Saint John Neumann, the founder of the first system of Catholic education in the United States. This evening, my brothers and sisters, Ihave come to join you in prayer that our vocations will continue to build up the great edifice of God’s Kingdom in this country. I know that, as a presbyterate in the midst of God’s people, you suffered greatly in the not distant past by having to bear the shame of some of your brothers who harmed and scandalized the Church in the most vulnerable of her members… In the words of the Book of Revelation, I know well that you “have come forth from the great tribulation” (Rev 7:14). I accompany you at this time of pain and difficulty, and I thank God for your faithful service to his people. In the hope of helping you to persevere on the path of fidelity to Jesus Christ, I would like to offer two brief reflections. The first concerns the spirit of gratitude. The joy of men and women who love God attracts others to him; priests and religious are called to find and radiate lasting satisfaction in theirvocation. Joy springs from a grateful heart. Truly, we have received much, so many graces, so many blessings, and we rejoice in this. It will do us good to think back on our lives with the grace of remembrance. Remembrance of when we were first called, remembrance of the road travelled, remembrance of graces received… and, above all, remembrance of our encounter with Jesus Christ so often along the way. Remembrance of the amazement which our encounter with Jesus Christ awakens in our hearts. To seek the grace of remembrance so as to grow inthe spirit of gratitude. Perhaps we needto ask ourselves: are we good at counting our blessings?A second area is the spirit of hard work. A grateful heart is spontaneouslyimpelled to serve the Lord and to find expression in a life of commitment to our work. Once we come to realize howmuch God has given us, a life of self-sacrifice, of working for him and for others, becomes a privileged way ofresponding to his great love.Yet, if we are honest, we know how easily this spirit of generous self-sacrifice can be dampened. There are a couple of ways that this can happen; both are examples of that “spiritual worldliness” which weakens our commitment to serve and diminishes the wonder of our first encounter with Christ. We can get caught up measuring the value of our apostolic works by the standards of efficiency, good management and outward success which govern the business world. Not that these things are unimportant! We have been entrusted with a great responsibility, and God’s people rightlyexpect accountability from us. But the true worth of our apostolate is measured by the value it has in God’s eyes. To see and evaluate things from God’s perspective calls for constant conversion in the first days and years of our vocation and, need I say, great humility. The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds: God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the crossAnother danger comes when we become jealous of our free time, when we think that surrounding ourselves with worldly comforts will help us serve better. The problem with this reasoning is that it can blunt the powerof God’s daily call to conversion, to encounter with him. Slowly but surely, it diminishes our spirit of sacrifice, renunciation and hard work. It also alienates people who suffer material poverty and are forced to make greatersacrifices than ourselves. Rest is needed, as are moments of leisure andself-enrichment, but we need to learn how to rest in a way that deepens our desire to serve with generosity. Closeness to the poor, the refugee, the immigrant, the sick, the exploited, the elderly living alone, prisoners and all God’s other poor, will teach us a different way of resting, one which is more Christian and generous.Gratitude and hard work: these are twopillars of the spiritual life which I have wanted to share with you this evening. I thank you for prayers and work, and the daily sacrifices you make in the various areas of your apostolate. Manyof these are known only to God, but they bear rich fruit for the life of the Church. In a special way I would like toexpress my esteem and gratitude to the religious women of the United States. What would the Church be without you? Women of strength, fighters, with that spirit of courage which puts you in the front lines in the proclamation of the Gospel. To you, religious women, sisters and mothers of this people, I wish to say “thank you”, a big thank you… and to tell you that I love you very much.I know that many of you are in the front lines in meeting the challenges ofadapting to an evolving pastoral landscape. Whatever difficulties and trials you face, I ask you, like Saint Peter, to be at peace and to respond to them as Christ did: he thanked the Father, took up his cross and looked forward! |
Is it that english is hard, (HUMANLY SPEAKING) the cross ended in failure "pls note the words in bracket" wasn't it the same that the elders, scribes and Pharisees though dat Christ death will bring about the end of Him, unknown to them that He will rise from the dead. Back to ur post as a human being u toiled and no harvest came forth u simply say it was a failure, but as one with faith knowing that you a child of God u know that's not the end. Miracles happen at the least time we expect. So in summary from this post, Francis help to differentiate between a human being one who believes the cross ended in failure (faithless) and one who believes the cross ended in triump (with faith). |
Lol why look at the bad side dey are also humans, for the 1st reason maybe she was wrong, for the 2nd she was right, Catholics ordained don't play with time, my primary school 1 min past 8am just go home don't bother, dat makes them instill discipline and time management into someone, moreover the child will learn to do things in time. Den about the last one I guess she was wrong. |
In my church it still goes on, but still, it is not like the early days of Christianity. Also, people tend to be very different when it comes to perfection, what one person might do another might dislike, when the church strives to help it's members many close there ears and hearts and prefer to live according to their ways. |
eepa:Don't mind him ooo, dey keep bombarding the church and d painful part is they start trying to be like the church, confused set of people. What prompted u protestants to start communion service? What prompted u to change day of worship to sunday? What prompted u to ordain bishops? Pls answer my questions |
OLAADEGBU:My question to u is who are you to cast judgment, are u God? What is the proof dat u urself will make heaven? Also what is the proof u are not led astray to fighting against God? And lastly leave us Catholics alone, we like who we are? |
3am or pm is the time of the day the Divine Mercy is prayed where it's devoties implore for the forgiveness of sins for the whole world, also 3pm is the hour in which Christ died on the cross |
lmao OLAADEGBU chai what did the Catholic church do to u for u to be dis motivated to try to bring it down, lol anyway make I remind u many have tried and after so much trial some became Catholics and others faded into oblivion. Our Father whom art in heaven, hallow be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHOM TRESPASSE AGAINST US and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from every evil. Amen |
ashmanpolo:In a parish several collections are made if u truly take note dey don't go into the same offering box Eucharistic collection goes to the bishop and then the vatican for pastorial work, all other collections for different mentioned purposes go to the respective purpose, the thanksgiving offerings is solely for the church it is used by the priest for the church's development and sometimes when the church needs to contribute to something for d diocese and funds raised were not enough it's taken from such funds, also, priest are paid salaries and these come from the money remitted to bishop, also it's up to the priest he could take money and assist the under privileged of the parish and these come from the the thanksgiving offerings. Hope you get the breakdown, never the less I will not also fail to say that sometimes corruption happens in the hierarchy system. |
Jeromejnr:BOOK OF PROVERBS SAYS DELIBRATING WITH A FOOL MAKES YOU ONE SO I GUESS THIS IS WHERE I PUT OFF THIS CHAT WITH YOU |
Jeromejnr:You shame me as a Christian dats all I will say since english and common sense eluded u and answering u is a waste of effort cuz I come here to teach and not to waste my time. Also, since u believe everything is in the bible pls show me the transfiguration of Christ in the gospel of John cuz the gospel of Mark said John was there ? |
I really commend u all as u join this thread, never has d Catholic church choir fail to lift d spirits of its members to God through praise and thanksgiving, truly I commend you all, and I pray that you go higher and higher in Jesus name. Amen Am not a choirister but I admire your works keep it up. |
