Some of the old members I know are lalaboiy, tosinadeda, mobinga, bjmighty, javalove, eldee and some others I can't remember. Seeing these guys argue on the music section, discuss music...choi nairaland used to be very informative before all these small boys infiltrated nairaland |
Anybody in the house still writing CIIN ? Just got two more papers to go at the Advanced Diploma Stage b4 becoming a chartered insurer. |
;DIdi Amin...The emphasis on the *IDI* |
damayor16:I never said it was made up... .. All am saying is the write up is poor if it is written by a journalist who speaks English as first language. After u posted d link, then am convinced it was probably written by a Romanian who learnt English. It's quite obvious, Shikena! |
Whoever wrote that whole stuff really needs to up his game. I mean the whole article was disjointed, no flows at all. First u were telling us about how he lost his father at a tender age, with his mum moving to UK leaving him alone in a cold world.....Then going forward we read about a song with his brother... Like what Tha 4ck..... That's just an instance, I read the article and I felt he should probably hire an experienced HR person who speaks English as a first language. By the way, am sure the Professional HR person will know how to keep the irrelevant information out if the whole article |
Lazyreporta:23k......lemme see d pix |
Naijaboiy1:I had this same discussion with a colleague last week. Though I attended a public school where I passed my SSCE and JAMB just like every other serious student did, but I must tell you the standard of Education in those expensive secondary schools cannot be compared to what you have in the average secondary school. These are schools where they prepare their students for SAT,TOEFL,GRE and other foreign examinations that can secure their students admission in Ivy league universities. Though there are enough intelligent students in government schools that can challenge the students of these expensive universities when it comes to academics, but believe me those schools mould you to be much more than just a bookworm. They mould students who can speak out and be heard in the public without fear of intimidation. Am talking about schools like Corona,Dowen college, Atlantic hall etc. I mean these schools' extra curricular activities alone gives the students a chance for them to express themselves and be what they want to be instead of the usual future Doctor, Engineer,Lawyer etc wish every average student has because of the way the society is structured. Imagine the first son of my Chairman just travelled to UK to study how to draw Cartoon. The boy is following his passion which is one of the privilege of being exposed to a good secondary education. Sincerely if I have my way, I wouldn't mind enrolling my wards in such schools when the time comes |
Lazyreporta:How far, lets talk about the C8 |
Damn! Mr Edward Onoriode should never be allowed to teach English Language, not even to Nursery school pupils |
rman:Thank you. I was just wondering if it means something else when I see people always quick to say they earn 6 figures salary as a way of hyping their jobs |
Abeg what does it mean when they say six figure salary in Nigeria? Do they mean N100,000 and above or N1,000,0000?..... ![]() |

@op I don't have a job to give ,but I suggest you try to edit ur cv. Saw one or two errors like capitalization of proper nouns(Name of people, place, etc) Also the fonts used was not uniform all tru. Also I don't think '' Proficient Computer literacy'' is the best is right in the context you used it as a skill on your cv. Note: Am not an expert in Cv matters o, just pointing out my observation ni o |
I still don't understand why universities in this 21st century will be asking of 15 hard copies of CV with Application Letter. like seriously? And most of them will claim to be ICT compliant. What happens to soft copies huh? |
I was asked by the interviewer where I see myself in the next two years, and I talked about seeing myself being a top notch professional who is highly revered as being thorough bred at the pinnacle of the industry...blah...blah....blah.. Then it occurred to me the man said 2 years and not 5 years which most interviewers usually ask. I come dey twist my way like snake, dey wriggle trying to sha expatiate say I no mean am literally( Cos even the man interviewing me who is a senior manager has probably not gotten to that high sky I was painting)Good enough for me the man is an understanding fellow and really sensed the fresh graduate ginjah, he even told me its ok that am only being ambitious and nothing stops me from being ambitious. He left the behavioural questions and started asking me core technical questions which I dusted. Got the job sha. |
Congrats. Naira land has always been a blessing to some of us, while some people be trolling and making tribalism comments up and down, the wise ones be tapping into the human resource, networking and job opportunities on the site to Forge ahead. Like myself, gained admission here, got nysc posting here, made friends on the nysc board b4 going for service, rocked service together with those friends, still got a job while on naira land. Been moving from education section to nysc section, to jobs section to general section. God bless Seun(or whatever he believes in, cos I heard he's an atheist) |
LASCONZY:Except you have secured a job before getting to Lagos, its not advisable you come at all. Else you might end up sleeping under the bridge. Lagos is not as rosy as you hear people paint it when they come home for Christmas. Based on your response above, owing to the fact u are an ssce holder Its advisable u try and learn a trade over there, probably tailoring, making of shoes and other cash fetching trade that does not take time to learn. Having any of these skills will definitely leave u at a better place instead of going after odd jobs that do not last long. |
gadgetsngs:Bro Ive checked it out. Just the camera being the limiting factor. I mean the 2mp front camera being too small for a selfie camera. I may be wrong tho. |

What If he is included and he still doesn't win, then what level of violence will they display then? |
@op most of your assumptions are wrong. Just like someone pointed out, 8% of your salary will be deducted as ur contribution to your pension scheme while the 10% will be contributed on ur behalf by ur employer to ur RSA account. As for when the the deductions will start, it is from your first salary on the job, be it probation period or not. And also there is no sure guarantee that ur salary will be increased after confirmation. Pay rise bothers on a lot of factors including company's policy,ur appraisal, etc. I think you should not be bothered about the pensions deduction provided the money is remitted to ur preferred PFA by your employer. The PFA will then lodge the 18% jointly contributed into ur RSA account. You should get alert monthly once the remittance is done. IF u don't, then u can raise issues with ur admin/hr |
