Foreign AffairsRe: South Africa Clashes At Anti-foreigner Protest In Pretoria - BBC by ajibsca: 6:06pm On Feb 24, 2017
SA men are lazy assholes who cannot afford to take care of their women and even offsprings. Most of their women are baby mamas and have one night stands like they are drinking water so how are they being turned to prostitutes ? Nigerians are taking their jobs ,which jobshuh? The average SA man is just a d**khead who likes to buzz even on a Monday morning. I for one person do not encourage drugs being sold by Nigerians but those guys are just being intimidated by the fact that Nigerians are more successful and taking over their country driving the best cars and having their women . I have been opportune to hear their ladies saying they prefer Nigerians to their own because we are more caring ,(carry bigger something underneath and more money he he) . SA men get complex issues men.

PropertiesRe: Where Is The Best Place To Buy Land? Mowe Or Ikorodu by ajibsca: 2:12pm On Aug 14, 2016
The Ikorodu of today is very much indeed different from the Ikorodu of 5yrs ago. Ikorodu road is one of the best roads in Lagos state as we speak talking about motorable roads coupled with an effective transportation system (BRT). Driving from Maryland/ikeja which is the center of Lagos to Ikorodu is less than 30 mins without traffic on well tarred road. By the time the rehabilitation of Ojota/ ketu axis is done with, it will be a smoother drive as the danfo buses causing the traffic congestion will be barred to the service lane and the overhead bridges being enforced will make traffic congestion a thing of the past. Also the rate of construction/ development in that axis shows that the sky is the limit and Lagos state specifically is doing a lot in terms of infrastructural development which is not as fast as it should be but with time they will get there. Talking about insecurity, the military over the past few weeks have taken over the creeks with zero tolerance and destroyed the bases of the militants up to Arepo in Ogun state so there is no place for the wicked.

Lastly with the proposed construction of the 4th mainland bridge, people who have biz on the island wont have to go through Ikorodu road which means there will be less traffic on that road in the future and massive commercial development along the shores of the bridge which will make it another trade hub in Lagos. With all of these points noted above, I PERSONALLY believe Ikorodu is not a bad investment. I know all of this because I have real estate projects there. Good luck and thank me in 5 yrs time .

incorrect sirs. the towers in Furious 7 are the ETIHAD towers in Abu Dhabi another city in the UAE. the Burj Khalifa was used in Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise climbed vertically on it.

You have a very valid point Sir. Apart from saving in terms of expenses, one can actually actualize that dream home without breaking the bank. Like I said in one of my previous posts, people have different tastes but what happens when you have taste and the innovation, machinery and idea is absent. I also agree on the negative energy aspect .We really should focus on channeling our energies to be constructively positive and innovative rather than playing the hate and bashing game. The whites are able to forge ahead of us because they are creative thinkers and do a lot of research with the aim of making lives better and easier for themselves. Less I forget,I love nairaland because you get to engage with people on the same page as you and learn from a vast archive of knowledge being posted here everyday. Thanks to Seun, a visionary and talented person who understands the usefulness of information. If only Africans can unite, Africa will be the greatest continent on earth because we have all it takes if we can maximize the use of technology to its full potential.

n3xt:
I'm sure if we collate all the ideas shared on this thread alone, one can make a saving of over a million naira from any project.

But how easy can this be when 2/3 of the thread was used on negative energies to spread ignorance.

That's the big difference between the whites and the blacks.

The same thing applies to our attitude towards governance. We are super good at pointing out errors (negative energies) of each government without harping on ways to make a positive difference.

I hope and pray that this thread and many more like this will bring something positive to Naija construction industry that we will all love to be named with.

I just watched the plaster sprayer video and men it is a bomb. Never knew such machinery existed. I like the concept firstly because it saves a whole lot of time and secondly there will be no wastage of cement . For others who dont know what it is like .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=livGiBuyR2A

Knowledge they say is power. The whites are decades ahead of us in terms of technology and machinery. It's time we start breaking beyond bounds in Nigeria.

gbadexy:
You are very correct. Equipments like the plaster sprayer and concrete polisher are things that I expect to be used here already. I'm surprised it's not common yet.
In fact I've researched and toyed with the idea of procuring them for service rendering a couple years before this thread but for the capital requirements.
Nigeria is full of opportunities and the huge technological difference between the foreign countries and Africa will always make importing trending technology over there create new markets here.
I'm certain most clients would prefer a stained and polished floor to tiles when properly done.

Glad to know somebody is thinking in the same direction. What actually inspired my thought on Solar water pump system is the fact that I once did a project and didnt do the borehole at the beginning meaning I had to purchase water from water tanker drivers and also get water from neighbors to build the building which cost money and sometimes the neighbors would refuse giving water to the workers because they havent pumped water or they have no water etc. clean water is a basic essential commodity so I have made up my mind to do a solar powered water pump system just outside my house running on complete solar for consumption of the public. I think that is the only way I can give back to my community. My personal opinion though.

n3xt:
Not an expert but a doer. I believe by the end of 2016, I should be able to have a complete off-grid solution installed in my small crib.

The first step is the water system. Getting off grid with Shurflo Solar Pump and Protek Water Heater.

Shurflo Pump already installed.

As per the air conditioning, I'm positioned in an environment where you'll hardly feel heat because of the wraparound terraces that shields away direct sun.

This is equally a very important but often overlooked design element. There's nothing as good as natural lighting and ventilation, though we always opt for the alternatives to compensate for design mistakes.

I did some thinking lately and I am of the opinion that in the future all residences in Nigeria would have to use prepaid meters which means more electricity bills according to what most people I know that use prepaid meters say.i have never used prepaid so I cant justify their assertions. Talking about diversification and trying to reduce electricity bills , i think solar heaters, solar bore hole systems and solar air conditioner systems should be embraced and explored in Nigeria by builders. Anybody with expertise in this field should educate on the pros and cons of these equipments especially the solar heating and air conditioning systems. Already I have made contacts with some Chinese firms and i'm working on its feasibility.

Just like you said, I am private and intend to do a picture diary of the building from scratch to finish which is the more reason why I didnt post the full pic . It is my choice either to come out in full or not because the advice I need is for the roof and not the building itself. My biz, not yours. Thank you for your contribution.

agarawu23:
the way you cropped your house to 0% seems to me you are kinda private. If you need public opinion, you will come out in FULL.

BTW using parapet on a complete roofed house will cost u more and some little damages.

Hi House,

Sorry to bump in .I have been following this thread and find it quite informative . I have interest in the fascia boards for roofing. I am working on a particular rental property project and the picture below is what the roofed part looks like so far. I have never done the fascia thing before now so I need advice on what to do at this stage and what type of fascia can be used for this kind of already done roofing. Useful inputs will be appreciated. Please note that the building itself is not completed and this is just one third of the building size but it was roofed because of the need to store building materials and avoid theft. Thx
