Sweetphronesis:
An old interview on the 62nd anniversary of Nigeria by Bola Ahmed Tinubu is going viral on twitter. He states that he preferred the old national anthem and if he had an opportunity will revert back to it.

Watch below:

Transcript:
Tinubu: We are one and one Nigeria, and we should be proud of our green.....
In fact if I had my way, I would bring back our old, first national anthem. That described us much much better. I don't know why we changed it. Its about service, it's about diversity, its about commitment to value and national building so that is my message....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R08zFYVInzY?si=1xKNhVg-NNJXAl4Y
Jagaban is right. A lot say is the National Anthem our problem? All these little things count. The old National Anthem defines us better. The "Arise Oh Compatriots, Nigeria's call obey" is more or less like a call to war! Even the first raising of the military drum set signifies it! 'Nigeria we hail thee" seems more or less hymnal but the wordings are more of togetherness, faithfuness and reliance on the Providence! However, Nigerians must build Nigeria. We must defeat terrorism. We must defeat hunger! Our universities must rise to the occasion and produce innovative graduates! University of Benin owing electricity bill of about #300 million. Our universities cannot generate electricity! They cannot produce food for consumption. They cannot produce very simple pencils! They have all the faculties but showing nothing!

We are just joking! Jagaban cannot salvage Nigeria in a day. Nigerians have long gone into the Abyss. Nigerians abandoned their fathers' farming occupation! They abandoned fishing! They sold their ancestral land for building. They moved to urban centres chacing shadow! They left their grandfathers in the village to farm. They left them to rot! They expect manna in town. They want a miracle worker! They dance gelede everywhere shouting of hunger!

Nigerian national anthem -- written by Lillian Jean Williams, a British expatriate .

The most enslaved nation with no touch of originality and citizens roam allover the world boasting about their enslaved country .
If I were you, I wud cease to be a Nigerian! I will never touch anything made in Europe or America! I will renounce education taught in the English Language! I wud reject the colonial technology! I wud even write in my mother tongue! So you are still enslaved, OP!

you have not answered my questions.

1. how is this government the best since 1960?

2. can you outline the criteria you used and the comparative analysis you carried out to have arrived at your conclusion?

3. how did Nigerians create hunger by themselves?

4. who are the "they"?

5. are you one of the "they"?

6. where you there when these "they" were doing all things you say "they" did?

7. what nationality are you? when "they" were selling their land, leaving farming and their villages, what were you doing?

8. how do you know that "everyone wants to be civil servants"? does that "everyone" include you?

9. if you say "Nigerians are not innovative", are you innovative or are you from zimbabwe?

10. if you are accusing nigerians of wanting free things from government, what is it that tinubu has apart from his family that he get free from government?

11. his accommodation, feeding, transportation, internet, phone calls, clothing, healthcare at home and abroad, is he the one paying for all of it?

12. which structure has this administration created? can you pls break down what this structure entails and its components?
Your questions are answered. You can as well contest election if you want to introduce your policies that willl never have pains but paradise for all Nigerians! I have told you what I am working on.

All you want is food! What do u produce at your backyard? I want Indomie and Shawarma! We are hungry! A generation to pity! Your fathers and grand parents were well fed. They had farms. They boosted food production! You children sold their farmland to carry women and drink beer. You say the Government is callous! Fools! Go back to the days of your fathers!

@ Lexy. I repeat, I know more than you. I am from Nigeria. I am leveraging on the 2023 Energy policy. I am partnering with an Energy firm in the UK to create gas energy of about 5 Megawatts in my state. No magic about this. Currently, I am working on 2 hectares of farmland for plantain and cassava production. I am also working on goatery. Expect pixtures soonest. Be innovative. Connect. Go back to the rural farm and produce food.

Are u in government? I am a man of conscience. I know politics, governance. The future is bright for the country if Tinubu continues like this. A lot of you know nothing. You just rant over nothingness. Your problem is hunger you created. You focus on ur tummy. This is the best so far since 1960. Thank God for this administration. I see beyond the hunger created by the Nigerian people themselves. The Nigerian people left their villages. They left farming. They left food production. The sold their land for housing projects. Everyone wanna be a Civil Servant. They sell same thing! The Nigerian people are not innovative! They want free things from government! The Administration is the best so far, creating structure that will accommodate wealth for the country! I score him 7/10.

Nobody has questioned the so-called Buhari over all the frauds his regime commited. This indicates that his tenures might have actually been completed by impostors, meaning that APC is the biggest scam so far in Nigeria.
What the hell! So because it was APC who did the scam, it should NOT be covered by the ruling APC! What do Nigerians like you want? What exactly una want?

All because of Obi, right? You call the people of dignity names! You spew toxic and caustic sentences! All because Obi lost. Because Prof Soyinka did not support him! None of you ever liked Obi or screamed his name when he was governor of Anambra. Soyinka you have always revered including Asiwaju. Where the 'love miracle' for Obi came from is what I dont know. But these were the same arguments you guys pushed under Buhari’s administration and 8 years went down the drain.
It shouldn’t take 10years to pluck the low hanging fruits. If the FG cuts down governance cost, Nigerians will take the hint and make necessary sacrifices. That’s what will boost patriotism. Don’t talk austerity to Nigerians while spending 90billion on hajj.
Buhari's policies differed from Asiwaju's! None ever anticipated that Buhari's policies would deliver Nigeria.

He’s sound and smart
Yes he is. But all of you will suffer for 10 years before things can get better. This is because the same policies of the president are the right policies that encourage sustainable economy of any country. Production of food and other things cannot come up within 36 months. Other leaders had put Nigeria in a mess before now. Impatience of Nigerians contribute to all we witness today. Nigerians want free food, free things. You do not want to pay tax! Government is not running any business! It is the people- the private sector that drives the economy while you pay the government tax in return to provide security and enabling environment to continue with business. Asiwaju will make Nigeria better. We should all do our best in making the country a good place to live. Stop being lazy. Stop all your hate words. Do not engage in fraud. Do not inflate the prices of your goods. Encourage farming. Encourage education. Do research and provide services!

Let us make Nigeria great again!
