lakhadimar: Is Lagos paradise? Why is it that before an igbo man succeeds in Nigeria he must first come over to Lagos? Is it true that according to the national population commission and the national bureau of statistics, the number of igbos that are in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta are more than those in the south east? Is the igbo land cursed? Why do the igbos hate yorubas so much yet they find their land indispensible?
and who told you that igbo outside SE is higher in population than the ones living in SEhuh another yoreba monkey again, and secondly Lagos is not your land if u doubt me go and touch an igbo man property there and see if police will not take you around the corner next thing your body will be found in lagoon, you die over something that is not yours, igbos and other tribe contributed and still contributing in Lagos state.I wish that each region should feed herself and let see how some poor under developed impoverish yorobe state will survive without handouts coming from the same people you complain about.that will be devastating cool

The Anambra State Association of Town Unions yesterday commended the state Governor, Mr. Peter Obi for winning the Business Hallmark Man of the Year Award, describing him as a Serial Winner.

In a letter of commendation to the Governor and signed by the President, Dr. Innocent Onwubunya the unions noted that Obi has become darling of all in the country due to his achievements.

The letter reads in part, “Once upon a time, circumstances threw up a man whose second name became Victory. One by one he overcame every hurdle placed in his way by detractors and by so doing made history on each occasion.
“Peter Obi, Governor of Anambra State, has become so accustomed to winning that it has positively infected all Nigerians. As everybody loves a winner, Obi is today courted by all men of goodwill who treasure goodness, progress and truth. And so on May, 5, the winning governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi was bestowed with the Business Hallmark Man of the Year for 2011 Award.

“All the 177 communities in Anambra State strongly and very proudly identify with our legendary Governor in this latest achievement and wish him many more years of continued victories.”
Also the chairperson of the women’s wing of the union, Dr. Chinelo Okechukwu, in a letter of commendation to the Governor on behalf of Anambra women said, “Women in all the 177 communities in Anambra State wish to felicitate with our accomplished governor, His Excellency Peter Obi, Governor of Anambra State, for his Governor of the Year Award by Business Hallmark on May, 5, 2012.
“Your Excellency, this is yet another confirmation of your perception by Nigerians and proof of the recognition by them of your gallant efforts in strengthening the nation’s democracy. A good product needs no advertisement and your good work has found you out. You are truly the light of Anambra. We wish you many more years of service to your state and country.”

It could be recalled that the publisher of Business Hallmark, Prince Emeka Obasi had before the award said that Obi was chosen through rigorous distillation process.
He maintained that his choice was informed by his transformation of Anambra State from a pariah State to a state that everybody desired to be associated with now, following a massive positive revolution the Governor had introduced in the State. cool
PoliticsAnambra West Not Marginalized, Transition Committee Chairman by ak47mann(op): 10:57pm On May 09, 2012
The Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State, Dr. Tony Obierika, has declared that his council area was not marginalized by the State Government.

Dr. Obierika who spoke to Daily Sun in his sub-office at Umueze Anam, said it was wrong for anybody to believe that the local government was being marginalized by the present administration in Anambra State.

The Transition Committee Chairman who was reacting to statements that the area was suffering marginalization, said that contrary, the area had benefited from the present administration in the state than from any other government that had ruled the state in the past.
He stated that the first tarred road in Anambra West was done by the present administration.

“This is the only state government that has so for remembered Anambra West Local Government Area in terms of development. It therefore desired commendation and not unnecessary criticism,” he declared.
Mr. Obierika said that most of the dilapidated schools in the area had been renovated by the Peter Obi-led government.
According to him, the schools built in the 70’s were not renovated since then until the present administration gave them a face-lift.

Major development strides of the present administration in the area he said, include the tarring of Umueze Anam Mmiata road, the Otupa bridge which cost about N1 billion, the reconstruction of Mmiata Anam Primary School, Community Primary School Nzam and Ezi Anam Primary School Nzam and Ezi Anam Primary School, Umulora Anam.
The local government boss said that there was no community in Anambra West that had not benefited one thing or the other from the state government’s development programme.
Ongoing projects in the area he said, include Owelle Health Centre, Odekpe Health Centre, Umuota Comprehensive Health Centre and the Iyiora Health Centre.
He also noted that the Local Government Secretariat at Nzam was undergoing massive reconstruction.

Politics7 Illegal Refineries Uncovered In Anambra by ak47mann(op): 10:52pm On May 09, 2012
A joint team of the Army and the State Security Service, (SSS) yesterday discovered seven illegal oil refineries located in a creek between the boundaries of Anambra and Delta states and destroyed the contents.
The illegal refineries suspected to have been used by oil bunkerers was discovered by the State Security Service, (SSS) who invited soldiers from the 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha to assist them destroy the badges and its contents.

According to the Commander of the 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Colonel Michael Durowaiye, they received intelligence report from the SSS that two badges and a boat laden with crude oil, suspected to have been stolen from Agip pipe line was sighted on the sea along Oko Community within the boundaries of Anambra and Delta States. The Commander said they immediately mobilized to take over the community where two badges loaded with 14 Gee Pee tanks of 1000 litres and seven illegal refineries were found in different locations in the creek.

He said that as part of their operational ways, the only way was to destroy the badges together with its contents, adding that his men had taken control of the area to make sure that the hoodlums did not return to the water.
Our reporter who witnessed the operation reported that out of the two badges, one of them was loaded with 14 Gee-Pee tanks of 1000 litres each, while the other one contained empty drums suspected to have been offloaded by the bunkerers.
The leaders of the army and SSS joint team, Lt. Col. Idongesit Akpan said the army was alerted by security intelligence report and the army decided to move into the creek where the suspects abandoned their badges and its contents and ran away.

He further confirmed that there was no arrest yet because the suspects might have received information that the soldiers were coming and they ran away, they even removed the engine bolt of their badges and ran away”.
Four septic tanks fully loaded with refined gas from the crude oil located in different parts of the creek were also burnt, while the seven illegal refineries where they refine the products locally were destroyed by the soldiers during the raid.
Another boat being used by the oil bunkerers was also set ablaze and over 100 drums of refined gas destroyed by the joint team.

PoliticsRe: Ojukwu Would Have Ruled Nigeria —Gowon by ak47mann(m): 8:08pm On May 09, 2012
Kanto: @Oduasolja:

you are stinking of ignorance. First of all the first coup planned in nigeria was by Awolowo for which he was jailed in 1963 for treason.
Secondly the wahala that caused the coup in 1966 was in the yoruba region. It was the lawlessness that started in the yoruba region in 1962
leading to the imposition of a state of emergency and then the first election rigging in 1964 and the violence, thuggery and arson that followed that led to the coup. If not for the lawlessness, election rigging, coup plotting by awolowo, violence, thuggery and arson which you yoruba apes introduced into nigeria then there would have been no need for a coup and the nation would have been better for it.

Yorubas started from day one of the first republic to be killing themselves and you should rather be grateful that the january 1966 coup rescued you apes from total self destruction.

So get your facts right before you write rubbish. You guys caused the problems that truncated the first republic and you should accept that responsibility rather than pushing the blame to those who reacted to the problems you caused. Bloody hypocrites.

It is no secret that not only did the yoruba introduce vices such as election rigging, thuggery and arson, Hausa-Yoruba constitute 90% of the federal looters that have destroyed the nation and consigned millions of people to poverty, mass emigration, mass unemployment, lack of basic infrastructure etc. So you owambe cockroaches should learn to keep quiet.

the Sovereign State of Biafra was never and can never be terminated. The Pan-Biafran Philosophy is a consciousness that is birthed in any human who deeply understands the universal definition of FREEDOM. This consciousness has been suppressed for over 40years, but Lo Comrades, the time is come for a conceptual awakening. Just like the sphinx, from her ash, she shall rise again! cool

Gowon, whose first statement on usurping power, was that there was no basis for Nigeria unity, changed his mind and wanted to centralize the government of Nigeria—going against exactly the primary excuse he had rationalized for his coup and the killing of Ironsi. He was now going to force the Igbos to remain in Nigeria, never mind that he and his coupists, in their retaliatory coup, had murdered all Igbo military officers they could lay their hands on, and had encouraged the ethnic cleansing exercise of the Igbo from Northern Nigeria. Gowon, whose Nigerian military government had failed to protect the Igbo (actually, made no effort to protect the Igbo, but in fact played an enabling role in the July 1966 genocide against the Igbo by the Hausa-Fulani), was now going to force the Igbo to remain in one Nigeria. Imagine that!

you will read of Aburi. Ojukwu worked hard to keep the Eastern region in Nigeria. The only way to keep Eastern Nigeria safe in Nigeria was through regional autonomy. In fact, the Military junta had by now accepted the fact that regionalization was the best way to keep the country as one. But Gowon refused. A summit was finally hosted by the Ghanaian President in Aburi, Ghana, in 1967 during which the Nigerian parties agreed on decentralization and regional autonomy. Gowon was there, and was party to the agreement. However, once back to Nigeria, within a few days, he did an about-face and reneged on the agreement they all reached in Aburi. What an Unreliable wimp cool
