I'm a male with the natural kinky Black African hair. I see some other people's curly hair and I like it. I've tried to replicate it on my hair by applying relaxer but I've noticed something: When my hair is wet (that is, immediately after bathing or washing my hair), it takes that lovely curly beautiful texture I want, but when the water on the hair dries up and the hair becomes dry, it goes back to the ugly kinky looks. Please, what do I do to the hair to make it retain that wet look all day long? Is there anything I can be applying to keep the hair looking fresh and curly all day long as it looks when it's wet, and how do I apply it? Thanks. I may attach some photos to show you what I mean better.

I need a laptop. Please can I get a fairly used laptop from eBay or any other online store? How much should I be talking about? The laptop should have, at least, 2GB RAM and 250gb HDD or even higher. |
My system refused to boot. It says "no option to boot from". What do I do? I bought this laptop from Aliexpress and I've been managing it. But since today it has refused to boot. It will just show the first startup screen and it stops there. Before now, when it does like that, I'll just tilt the screen a bit and the boot process will continue. But now, no headway. The laptop has been having this flex problem. It cannot stand upright on its own. I have to wedge something at the back. Please, I just need to get it to boot at least just one more time so that I can evacuate all my important files from the system. Help. What do I do? |

Story highlights Morsy and more than 100 others are sentenced to death over a 2011 jailbreak The sentences can be appealed and must still be confirmed by the Grand Mufti Cairo (CNN)— Ousted former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy was sentenced to death Saturday in a Cairo court. He had been convicted in a 2011 prison break. Morsy's name, along with those of more than 100 other defendants, will be passed to the Grand Mufti, the highest legal authority in Egypt who will have the final say on their sentence. The verdict will be confirmed on June 2. This was the harshest sentence that Morsy could have expected to receive in the case. He will be able to appeal the sentence. The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Badie, and a former parliament speaker, Mohamed Saad El-Katatny, were also referred to the Grand Mufti in the jailbreak case. Cairo's military-installed government has banned the Muslim Brotherhood, branding it a terrorist group -- an allegation it denies Morsy and his co-defendants were accused of collaborating with the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas and the Lebanese Shia group Hezbollah to break into several prisons across Egypt in January 2011 and of facilitating the escape of Morsy and 20,000 others. The jailbreak came amid the chaos of the January 2011 popular uprising that toppled longtime strongman Hosni Mubarak and led to Morsy's election the following year. Espionage case In a separate case involving espionage charges, another 16 defendants -- but not Morsy -- were also sentenced to death Saturday. The verdict will be confirmed on June 2. Among those sentenced to death are Mohamed El-Shater, deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood; Mohamed El-Beltagy, a former Muslim Brotherhood member of parliament; Ahmed Abdel Aty, a former presidential aide; and Emad Shahin, a political science professor now in the United States. Those defendants present chanted "Allahu Akbar," meaning "God is the greatest," as they were sentenced to death. They remained in the cage where prisoners are held in the courtroom, waving to journalists and lawyers as they chanted. Violence against protesters Morsy, who became Egypt's first democratically elected President in June 2012, was deposed by a popularly backed military coup in July 2013. He was already sentenced to 20 years in prison in April this year on charges involving violence against protesters outside the presidential palace in December 2012. But he was acquitted of murder in the deaths of protesters. After that verdict, his Freedom and Justice Party, the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, called the trial a "travesty of justice." Ben1975:For Namecheap you will be paying in dollars na so it may be higher than the N1600 coz of the Naira to Dollar exchange rate. But does Namecheap give free domain when you purchase hosting? |
We all know what the people of the North has been going through in the hands of the Boko Haram insurgence. Recently, we heard that some rescued girls (more than 200 of them) came back pregnant. Now, they are going to bear supposedly "evil" children. People have continued to give their opinions on what should be done to these girls/women and their unwanted Boko Haram pregnancy. This is what one "born-again" woman said (she's one of these type of churchy DeeperLife-type of Christians, but not sure which church she attends): "All these Boko Haram pregnancy shouldn't be allowed to stay. They are devilish children. They should either abort the pregnancy or kill the children upon delivery. They are devilish and an abomination". I was really shocked on hearing this. Why has religion reduced us to animals. This statement came from someone who, by the faith she professes , is supposed to be talking about showing love to both the pregnant girls and their unborn children. For humanity's sake, we are all human beings. It doesn't matter whether it's a Boko Haram person that impregnated those unfortunate ladies. It has happened, it has happened. Those unborn babies shouldn't be made to suffer for what they know nothing about. If they didn't come through the Boko Haram guys, they will come through someone else. Please, let us stop this animal thinking and love ourselves. Love knows no religion or tribe. You don't need to believe in God or religion to show some love to your fellow human. After we'll be looking down on atheists, but atheists behave more human than all of us carrying Bible and Quran up and down. Is it what religion teaches us? To hate and despise on unfortunate fellows? |
lawanson44:Of course, I wouldn't. But when last did you use their service? Coz some other persons are telling me opposite of what you are saying. |
Goodnuel:From where pls? |
lawanson44:I should not try smartweb? Anything with them? |
Ben1975:Thanks a lot, bro. I'll go with your advice. Perhaps, I should start now gathering contents so that when I'm ready, I'll come out with a bang. One other issue I'll be having now is "niche selection" - as it's called - and content generation. I don't know which niche I can readily go into that is profitable, and how to generate ideas on what to write or get topics on what to write on. I see all these Nigerian "entertainment bloggers" and you know the type of things they blog about. That's not what I'll like to do. I mean "real" blogging. What are the available areas of blogging available, and how can one generate regular contents to blog about. Not forgetting how the blog can be monetized as well. |
klickash077:Font 7; single spacing...100pages... ahh!!! Guy u wicked o! lol |
Ben1975:Thanks, Ben Joe. I will like the idea you are passing across. The Smartweb, the N2500 is it for both the hosting and domain name? Are they reliable enough (because it seems like a Naija company)? Also, the NameCheap, do they provide me with hosting too? P.S.- You made use of "dot com" in place of ".com". Does Nairaland penalize for posting direct links? *just curious* |
I want to start a WordPress blog. Considering that I'm not assured that I'll be having the money to pay for domain name and hosting for every month, what should I do. Any cheap alternative? |
stevecrun:Thanks bro. |
Isn't this making sense, guys?

kennyrony:What of for a 22 yrs old who finished in 2010? |
stevecrun:My case is almost the same with him. But in my own case, I graduated in 2010 and got admitted in that same year to a Nigerian university but I dropped out and refused to continue because I just wasn't enjoying the quality of education I was getting. Will it stand against me in any way? I'm 22. |
kennyrony:Meaning he stand no chance? |
Hello, house. I have this little question, and I need answer. When applying to a US college for undergraduate studies, you are usually requested to fill in your high school CGPA. In Nigerian secondary schools - or at least, the one I attended - they do not usually calculate our CGPA. Subjects are not even allocated unit loads. How can I calculate my CGPA with my secondary school results? |
femiap:My brother, you have just gingered me. I'm really grateful for this epistle. It just gave me some fresh energy to pursue my dream. Thank you. |
