Politics › Olayinka Olayanju: Some Arrested Ibadan Hoodlums Linked To Makinde’s Aides by AkalaJ(op): 5:17pm On Jan 05, 2021 |
The Commander of Oyo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun, Col. Olayinka Olayanju, (retd), has said some of the aides of Governor Seyi Makinde are indirectly backing hoodlums terrorising the people of the state.
The Amotekun commander disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking on a radio station, Fresh FM.
Residents of Ibadan communities have recently been living in constant fears following the increased cases of hoodlum attacks.
Three persons were reportedly shot and injured in a fresh attack that occurred on Sunday.
Olayanju said some senior aides of the governor have in the past pleaded that the agency should free suspected hoodlums arrested in connection with civil disturbances in some parts of the state capital.
Olayanju, however, declined to mention the names of the governor’s aides, who pestered him to release the arrested suspects.
He said, “Some people would come to plead that we should release those arrested. We arrested some in (Ibadan) North-East less than a week ago and one SA ( Special Adviser) was running around begging us. He came and met me around NTA and I told him that we have handed them over to the police at Yemetu. I won’t mention the name. He is SA to the governor, some are chairmen, some are lawmakers who seek such a favour.”
When asked whether the governor’s aides were behind the unrest in the state capital, the Amotekun commander replied, “That is what we are saying.” https://punchng.com/some-arrested-ibadan-hoodlums-linked-to-makindes-aides-amotekun-commander/?amp=1

Politics › Amotekun, Hunters Dislodge Herdsmen From Oyo Forest Reserves by AkalaJ(op): 5:54am On Jan 03, 2021 |
The Oyo State Security Network Agency, aka Amotekun, in collaboration with some hunters, has flushed out two sets of herdsmen from the Opara Forest Reserve and the Oyo State Agricultural Development Programme Forest.
The Chairman of Amotekun Corps, Gen. Kunle Togun (retd), on Saturday, in a statement by the Information Officer of Amotekun in Oyo State, Mrs Ayolola Adedoja, said the herdsmen, who stormed the state, claimed they were invited by some traditional rulers.
Togun commended the hunter group led by one Prophet Ojuawo for the assistance of his group, while soliciting more support from the people of the state to make the corps more effective.
The Amotekun boss added that the security outfit was open to criticism, noting that such criticism should not be to discourage the corps from its duty of protecting lives and property in the state.
He said, “On December 24, some herdsmen were seen at the Opara Forest Reserve in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State. The attention of the chairman of the Amotekun corps was called to it and the Amotekun corps swung into action.
“They were able to flush the herdsmen out of the forest reserve around 2am. The Amotekun corps, with the assistance of one Prophet Ojoawo, who is the head of the hunters in the state, with 40 hunters drove out the herdsmen out of the forest reserve and they were escorted out of Saki West to the Orelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.
“The herdsmen were handed over to the Amotekun corps members at Orelope who also led them out of their territory and handed them to their members at Olorunsogo in Igbeti area. The Amotekun corps at Igbeti made sure they were escorted out of the Oyo State boundary.”
Togun noted that the herdsmen were interrogated and said one baale from the axis invited them to the state and we said they were able to produce a letter of invitation by the village head.
He said, “Also, another set of the herdsmen were sighted at OYSADEP Forest Reserves. They too produced evidence of invitation by one of the Oyo Obas and they too were also driven out of the forest and of the state boundary.”
Togun said, although the expectation of the public about Amotekun was high, they should be patient as the results of the security outfit would not be sudden. https://punchng.com/amotekun-hunters-dislodge-herdsmen-from-oyo-forest-reserves/

comshots: Mentioned one good news about this government? Even the railway project was a loan.Had it been the contract was awarded to a Nigerian, the job would be incomplete.we would be hearing scandals upon scandals. If you only see and hear bad news about Nigeria under Buhari's administration, then that shows that you are the problem. Perhaps you are allergic to good news, and are programmed to only seeing and hearing bad news. |

Must you people always talk without sense? It's like you only want to celebrate bad news reports about the country, that's the only time you are happy to comment. So you are saying Soyinka is not supposed to use a public train because it was built by the same Buhari he criticises? When will you people grow up from this sort of pettiness?? |

What is it about Seyi Makinde that is making majority SW PDP rank and file political leaders to reject his leadership in favour of Fayose, an ex-governor? Maybe Makinde should check himself and reevaluate his leadership style. |
Politics › Re: Makinde, Deputy’s Rift Deepens South-West PDP’s Crisis by AkalaJ: 8:39am On Dec 20, 2020 |
Makinde is clearly not a good human resource manager. How long has he been in PDP that he's having issues with other PDP leaders and factions in the SW including his state, and now his deputy? He should be careful because he might need these people later. He should not forget how difficult it was for him to become governor without the support of others. |
Politics › Oyo State, The Headquarters Of Almajiri - Aac Chairman by AkalaJ(op): 9:11am On Dec 03, 2020 |
https://www.latestnewsplus.com/2020/12/oyo-state-headquarters-of-almajiri.html?m=1MAKINDE PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE SECURITY SITUATION OF OYO STATE
Part of my discussion yesterday at the Petals FM addressed Engr. Seyi Makinde's governance of 'sound and fury'. Some observers described SM's empty presentation as "audio achievement".
If only Engr. Seyi Makinde knew the implications of condoning the influx of banished stratum of a society in his own state, he would have been more proactive. After 19 states of the north resolved to ban and banish Almajiri from their respective states, Oyo state became their haven. There is no place in Ibadan of today that one would not see the swarm of almajiri children moving in droves and in desperation.
These almajiris are at every nook and corners of Ibadan including estates. One can confirm this by going to Eleyele, Sanngo, Mokola, Ringroad, Oluyole, Apata, Iwo road, Ojoo and everywhere. The funny thing is that these almajiris are multiplying everyday.
Similar to almajiris are their adult males who have taken over everywhere with Okada. They have married their violence with those of indigenous miscreants.
Engr. Seyi Makinde, in a bid to wear the face of a nationalist, is playing politics with the security situation of Oyo state. Oyo state is a center of violence and kidnapping under his watch. It's worse to the extent that Seyi Makinde and his PDP was rumored to have paid a big ransom to secure the release of one of his Caretaker Chairmen at Okeogun zone of the state.
We know that Engr. Seyi Makinde led government does not have a blue print and it's one of the reasons why it's allegedly leaked to the piblic that his cabinet members must take permission before granting media interviews but security of everybody and everything should be prioritized.
My next analysis will focus on Seyi Makinde's unexecutive policies which include:
Infrastructural project
Education
Health
Loan and recurring debt
Workers, inflation and minimum wage
Recruitment procedures as many people are labeling him governor of none-indigenes as TESCOM list is ridden with highest percentage of NONE-INDIGENES.
