Applications who chose the University of Ibadan as their second choice in the last UTME and score above 50 in the Sept. 28th UI Post UTME may have to wait for some time to know whether or not they will be considered for admission into Nigerian Premier University, the University of Ibadan. Information available to campus times reveals that while staff at the institution’s admission office were already at an advance stage in collating the names of successful First choice candidates in the institution’s Post UTME organised on Sept. 28, no attention is currently being paid to candidates who made the institution their second choice and scored above 50 in the same examination, despite NUC’s end of October deadline for the conclusion of admission process for the 2013/14 academic session. A staff at the admission office informed our correspondent that “for now, it is not clear if the second choice candidates will be considers as we have not got directive to start processing the second choice applicants for admission.” A source close to Prof. Ajav, the chairman of the committee in charge of the admission process informed campus times that as of Tuesday (22/10/2013) the university had only got the list of first choice candidates from JAMB and had been working based on the list, “if the list of second choice candidates comes in from JAMB before the end of the NUC admission deadline, we shall work on it, as of now, we do not have it” the source said. The university of Ibadan had on Friday (18/10/2013) released the departmental cut off marks and list of departments available for a change of course for candidates who made the institution their most preferred first institution, without making any official statement as to the fate of candidates who made the institution their second choice though all the applicants wrote the Post UTME on the same day. This has raised concern in different quarters because of the deadline issued by the regulatory agency for the conclusion of the admission process this year. Source: CAMPUSTIMES UI |

jj9ice: o boy, the language u used is crude 'barbaric' and it seems u dont understand the issue at all, total demand is 3tr which would pay installmentally within 4yrs and do u konow what it takes to enter to agreement willinglly? after u might have considered pros and cos and satisfied with the terms of agreements. ok the same govt that publiclly promised stable electricity, security, justice and employments and reneged on it, what do u expect of agreements made with just a unoion"ASUU"? let us call a dog the name it deserves, sentiments apart!!!Argue mode activated lolz... So u want FG to pay 3trillion? For every agreement there is a buy-out clause. What is the buy-out clause between FG and ASUU. Don't just jump into conclusion without knowing how the game is being run. FG WOULD and CAN never pay ASUU 3trillion so forget it. Is ASUU the only problem we have in this country? What u guys don't know is the politics being played by strike. APC Vs PDP grudges and some fuelling underneath to bring down the PDP government just to pave way for the other party. See my guy, I'm not supporting FG neither am I for ASUU but we have to be factual about this ish. ASUU demands can never be met |
Wow... Buh aint they going to hasten it cos of jamb deadline?... Jamb still taljed about it yesterday, making it the fourth time they sounded a note of warning... i just wish they cld release the result in list or something...so,we can know our fate!
UI can meet the deadline internally and fail to publicise it to her students... The deadline means sending you guys names to Jamb headquarter for proper accreditation so u guys can get ur admission letter and mobilization for NYSC later. Continue to check ur admission status on Jamb website cos it might show up there before UI website post it |
Boss Akby?...is there any news on admission?
The senate meeting yesterday was not rounded up... As some issues were raised. UI can't admit more than 3,500 so they're looking for ways to satisfy this ish. Mind u DE candidates are there too. During ours, 40,000 applied and 2,654 was admitted (jambites) this time around, about 55,000 applied and UI is looking between the range of 3,000 - 3,500 students. So the cut-off is the main determinant for this to happen. The Non-academic staff that are meant to oversee the affairs of admission are going on strike tomorrow. If the cut-off is not finalized today then I guess it would be till further notice. On a candid view, UI is not even in a hurry to admit. Yeah because what's the point admitting and waiting for another 3months before resumption. They wanna tame it in such a way that ur admission and our rounding up on the semester is not far from each other. Would update as it unfolds |

How do I break this news this morning? *clears throat* after reading this please don't cry ooo lol ...Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) just demanded for the sum of 3 Trillion Naira to fulfil all the agreement entered between the Union and the FG. ASUU national chairman is from University of Ibadan and this the latest news for now. My question is Nigerian budget for 2014 is roughly above 3 Trillion Naira and to put all that into 'tertiary institution' only is highly barbaric. So as it stands now guys start learning something ooo cos ASUU strike might continue till next year. The painful aspect of it all is that after 'calling off' which remains unknown, u guys would have to wait for another 3months for us to complete our 2nd semester before u guys resume so it's a really really long way to go. Hope I've not spoilt ur mood this morning. It's affecting me too so we are one in the circus. All I know is that Oluwa would always be involved. Have a blessed day. #TeamUI @Akin_Official |

Wooooow! At last the result is out as said... Would like to use this medium to congratulate everybody that made it above 50. It wasn't that easy but congratulations. Welcome to the first and the best and also how come nobody is repping my dept *sobs* electrical/electronics students where are u now? #Para_Mode show oooo before I provoke that aside, the highest for this years' putme is still unknown to peeps for now. Last year was 88 and they are both from elect/elect and mbbs so watchout same thing might just happen. MBBS students congrats ooo like u guys are much here but my fear is the cut-off mark. UI admits best of the best so won't be surprise if the cut-off for MBBS this year is sooo HIGH but no qualms if u can't make it there would always be a fallback. UI admitted 125 students for MBBS last year so this year too might be within the range.Petroleum Engineering - 13 Food Tech - 7 Elect/Elect - 21 Mechanical - 21 Civil Engineering - 17 Agric Engineering - 31 Industrial and Production Engr - 35 Wood Tech - 5 Admission data for last year engineering students. Once again I congratulate u sir/ma. Eku ise ooo ![]() |
