Politics / Re: Dele Alake: The Same Alphabeta People Complain Of Is Used By Opposition States by AkimJ: 7:16pm On Aug 29, 2022 |
Does that we Yorubas include me, Remi, Tinubus wife, most of tinubus children, and several christians who have openly supported tinubu? Do you not have a christian as VP under this government? It was to satisfy people like you and massage your sentiments. But how much was he able to influence government policies and dispositions on religious matters? So who told you if tinubu chose a Pope as running mate, if he wants to be a religious bigot (which even you yourself know he is not), he cannot make him as irrelevant as Osinbajo was made by buhari? It is your right to support anybody you like.Noone is contending that with you. But it is naive, myopic, childish and presumptuous to say you are speaking for Yoruba christians. You do not have that mandate. |
Education / Re: FG Abolishes Admission Policy On Catchment Area For Varsities by AkimJ: 10:37am On Nov 24, 2019 |
You have only said what you think and not based on facts and your view is prejudiced. UI and UniAbuja has been operating without catchment area for years and applicants are admitted strictly on merit. No Yoruba gets admission to UNN in preference above any Igbo. Any Yoruba that gets admitted to UNN is strictly on his or her own merit. UNN have the following areas as catchment states Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross-River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Rivers.Don't spread false information. Studies carried out shows that the federal universities have largely been implementing the catchment areas policy faithfully and JAMB has been monitoring compliance. In case you want to insinuate otherwise, would your insinuation even be reasonable? What would be the basis of UNN deliberately deviating from official policy to favour Yoruba? Of the 15 VCs that UNN has had in her history, 2 were expatriates, 11 are Igbos, one was from Plateau and one from core north. Since 1999 all VCs have been Igbo. So what special interest or basis would make UNN to go out of her ways against the policy to favour Yoruba? The only basis where a non Igbo may get admission with lesser score over an Igbo in UNN is on the basis of educationally disadvantaged state and NO South west state is considered educationally disadvantaged so no South west state is on that list. For example on the list of admission for UNN in 2016 that was posted by a Nairalander, we have the following for pharmacy: S/N-Score-State 75-291-imo* *76-291-imo* *77-288-imo* *78-241-adamawa* *79-256-bauchi* *80-278-bayelsa* *81-270-benue* *82-268-crossriver* *83-278-ebonyi* *84-251-gombe* *85-271-jigawa* *86-266-kadunna* *87-250- kano* *88-280-kebbi* *89-263-koggi* *90-257-nasarrawa* *91-263-niger* *92-244-plateau* *93-257-rivers* *94-249-sokoto* *95-263-taraba* *96-284-zamfara* No single candidate from South west. I follow, consult and am versed about university admissions and I am writing based on experience. However lest my view be taken as being subjective I have provided some references here about views from others to debunk this. I hope you can take the time to go through them because for space and time I wont copy the details here. https://www.nairaland.com/3363207/view-unn-admission-list https://www.jstor.org/stable/3447999?seq=1 https://www.nairaland.com/3359156/federal-university-where-over-99/6 3 Likes |

Where did you get that from? Tithing has always been linked with material blessing. Does opening windows of even and producing harvests that your barn cannot hold has anything to do with spiritual or heavenly blessings? In any case if that were so, do your pastors present it that way? 1 Like |
Politics / Re: APC Loses Majority In National Assembly by AkimJ: 10:50am On Jul 08, 2018 |
Was that what happened to PDP also when Jonathan became a bully? The problem was not using propaganda to win power. It was in compromising for temporary political gains and making your platform too flexible for people to use. Given the atmosphere in 2015, APC would still have won without accommodating the PDP dissenters because they would have been in limbo frustrated by Jonathan controlled PDP and rejected by the CPC/AC/APC/part APGA fusion. If the fusion had gone it alone without accommodating PDP orphaned dissenters, it would still have won and rule without the blackmail it is now being subjected to. How can a group with this hold on the legislature, this control over executive and legislators at such number of states claim the party had failed to compensate it. It shows how greedy the so called nPDP are. APC had itself to blame for compromising and accommodating these greedy and corrupt people. If APC had fielded its own people against these guys, most of them would not be in their positions now. 1 Like |

Why would it be a waste of time? Although sarcastic, you have only expressed out what constantly challenges the mind of majority of people. Why is the history of life full of denials of what the "holy" B claim? |
Politics / Re: Kwankwaso, Others Pull Out Of APC; To Sign MoU With PDP - This Day by AkimJ: 8:20am On Jul 04, 2018 |
Then in 2023 you would start looking for another coalition again to remove these selfish looters. It is unfortunate that buhari has handed over to opposition the rope to hang him. But these people are not the ones that would save nigerians. PDP has learnt from its fall and is becoming reformed. These guys will go and polute the party again. You can be sure PDP would want to do things differently if it gets back power but these guys are going to be the spoilers as they had been to APC. 2 Likes |

We should endeavour to be accurate with figures because sometimes it is what we write in fora like this that some people take as facts. Which unauthorized $2b RCA withdrawal? There was only a proposed $1b withdrawal said to have been consented to by d govs and only d 400+million for d plane has been relleased |
Religion / Re: Ebonyi State Pastor Converts To Islam, Listen To His Testimony(video) by AkimJ: 1:46pm On Jun 09, 2018 |
We have American, English and French muslims, so what makes it impossible for an Igbo to become a Muslim? 1 Like |
Celebrities / Re: Are You Offended By Falz - 'This Is Nigeria' Video? - Hausa Girls React by AkimJ: 1:53pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
You are entitled to your opinion and should concede that others are also entitled to theirs. Personally the video to me does not portray maturity and sensitivity. It is not balanced. If d objective is to show d ills in d society, d message should portray d facts not just perception. We have many incidences of ritual murders and it is more predominant in d south especially in south west, why didn't Faltz show a man in agbada and say Yoruba ritualists or show a scene on kidnapping and baby factory and say Igbo kidnappers or Igbo baby factory or show condemned drug pushers in Malaysia and call them Igbo drug pushers or show prostitution scene and talk about Bini or Edo prostitutes. Are all these not realities? How many times have we had reports of Hausa's or Fulani in money or other rituals or in drug pushing or prostitution or armed robbery. But these are realities of ills in d society so why in terms of ethnicity should d video be biased against a tribe and only show a wicked act currently associated with a trade and a tribe. Why not just depict that we have terrorists killing people or if you want to identify among d people d act is predominant go ahead and mention the predominant ills among other tribes. And Faltz was just arrogant and immature in his defence asking if there is any law against showing girls in hijab dancing shaku shaku. It is highly insensitive. How does that depict chibok girls in captivity? Is that a reality. He should point out where once he witnessed a party where girls wore hijab dancing like that. For all we know the chibok girls at no time were shown in that posture. Faltz is too brash and insensitive. Also because someone made a shameless statement that snake swallowed money does not mean it is a reality. So why show what is not real and did not happen. Isn't there a more creative way to show that people loot money and give ridiculous excuses to cover it up. In Nigeria snakes do not eat money so that is not nigeria. The police scene is reality so that is nigeria.Am not a muslim and not from d north so ethnic or religious affiliation has nothing to do with my opinion on this. |

hobermener: I would agree with you if you can tell me that all the outstanding issues and problems that obj left behind were resolved by GEJ in 100 days. And you expect buhari to consolidate on what? Unemployment, lack of electricity (I am probably the greatest beneficiary of the tremendous improvement on power from virtual 24 hours of darkness to about 16 hours daily. I don't care who had provided the facilities but who ensured that the power company's released what they were hiding from me under GEJ), continuous retrenchment by companies etc. |
Politics / Re: Akwa Ibom Govt House DSS Invasion: I Never Spoke To Premium Times, Ekerete Udoh by AkimJ: 8:04am On Sep 09, 2015 |
manpo2k: But I watched a live interview on TV where one Barrister claimed that he had the mandate of the gov to come on air to deny any invasion. He did this vehemently and even claimed that the akwa ibom govt is prepered to sue dss for the information. Even when reminded that it was the presidential wing, he said there was no invasion at all and no area could have been invaded as there was only one entry into govt house inside which the presidential wing is located. |
