Sports › My Nigerian Football XI Of All Time! by akinalabi(op): 9:59pm On Sep 14, 2007 |
Earlier today, I was thinking about my best Nigerian 11 of all time.
I don't mean the best 11 players we've ever produced, rather, I mean if I were to pick a team, who would I put in?
That means, there can't be two goalkeepers or two number 10s.
I picked this team based on a 4-4-2 formation.
Here we go,
Goalkeeper: Peter Rufai
Right Back: Yisa Sofoluwe (Played both left and right back)
Left Back: Benedic Iroha
Central Defender (Stopper): Christian Chukwu
Central Defender (Libero): Stephen Keshi
Defensive Midfielder: Muda Lawal
Central/Attacking Midfielder/Playmaker: Austin Okocha
Right Winger: Segun Odegbami
Left Winger: Felix Owolabi
Supporting Striker: Samson Siasia
Top Striker: Rashidi Yekini
Does anyone agree with me? |

Sports › Re: Footbal Quiz 007 by akinalabi(m): 12:15am On Sep 14, 2007 |
1) Rashidi Yekini- Africa Sports Ivory Coast. Victoria Setubal Portugal Olympiacos Greece, Sporting de Gijon Spain
2) Samson Siasia- Midfielder- Nations Cup 1988- Hosted In Morocco High point- Scored a hat trick at the national stadium against Libera. Or you could argue it was his goal against Argentina at USA 94.
3) Rashidi Yekini- Africa Sports Ivory Coast. Victoria Setubal Portugal
Stephen Keshi - Stade Abidjan, Africa Sports- Lokeren Belgium
Gabriel Okolosi- Africa Sports- FC Basel Switzerland
Thompson Oliha- Africa Sports- Irony Ashdod
4) Ajibade Babalade and Duke Udi- Both played for Shooting stars
5) Thats question is a bit ambigous. But I will say Henry Nwosu
6) Isaac Semitoje (Not sure though). That was the jersey we wore at Senegal 92 and some USA 94 qualifiers. |

KnowAll: I do not touch internationals, it can not be analysed unlike national legueas. If you notice most of the teams that i am tipping to win on accumulator are big teams and they are at home, so that na sure banker. I agree. I always lose with internationals. But the funny thing is that I always play. I'll do something this weekend. Will share it later. Cheers Akin |

KnowAll: I started my personal account with £100.00, but now I have £350.00, I want to do something dearing this weekend, putting all my money on Liverpool beating derby at 15:00 on saturday, so if I lose make na know say one dead body dey for somewhere in london. If I am successful, I will make £70.00, that £70 pounds will go to either the Man utd vs Sunderland match at 17:00 on saturday evening. If successful the £70.00 plus any jara will go on the arsnal vs portsmouth on sunday or the Celtic vs st mirren on sunday. Thats a tip for you guys lets make some money. good luck everybody. I should think there are some other matches at 19:00 on sunday evening, I will go for the Fernanbache away match to one of their local team. Lets hope by the end of the weekend one could have made £100.00, so lets have some fun. That's brave but dangerous. Don't put all the £350. Just do £20 in 5 different accumulators. One will surely be alright. Even if they are all wrong, you will know that you still have £250 Cheers, Akin |

You have a point about not getting emotional about it. When I wanted to place my bet during the community shield, I had a bet that it would be a draw despite the fact that I'm a die hard Man Utd fan, a card carrying member.
But thank heavens I did and I won some money. |

ambjnr,
You sure have a point but to be honest with you, I do this thing for fun only and not as an investment vehicle.
Maybe thats why I don't always win (the last I won was the draw btw Chelsea and Man Utd at the community shield) but I don't really mind.
I can surely give you my own draw tip every time you want it.

ambjnr: hello guys,i was thinking instead of guessing and betting lets pull together and work out something about staking on soccer.lets see how we can be making predictions accurately even if it is on one match alone.we can still take advantage of the double chance option where we predict 2 out of the 3 possible outcomes. what do u guys have to say about this.lets make money with football. in nigerian pools people strife to get 3/3 before they win money bt online, with 1 number even 1/2,u make cool cash. I'll be lying if I say I understand what you said. Can you explain better? Akin Alabi |

Birmingham v West Ham Reading v Everton Newcastle v Aston Villa Wigan v Sunderland Blackburn v Arsenal Liverpool v Chelsea I don dey fear sef Omo, all those ones you picked are a bit tricky! Newcastle should beat Villa Liverpool should beat chelsea Na wah o! |

marlet01: Blackburn 0 vs Arsenal 2
Liverpool 2 vs Chelsea 1
As for Man Utd, they really didn't start well but I see then back to winning ways. You don't have to predict the correct scoreline you know. Just the outcome will be alright. |
