Wife of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Remi Tinubu, said her next target is to become the Senate Deputy President, as the only woman with a third mandate in the Senate.

Tinubu, who stated this yesterday, in an interview with The Guardian, expressed optimism that APC would continue to win in Lagos and other states, as long as the party continues to develop people and the country.

She lamented the participation of too many insignificant parties in the election, saying it makes it confusing and complicated for most of the illiterate voters, as well as money wasting and time consuming.

March 9: The PDP condemns the heavy militarization, violence and killing of innocent Nigerians by the desperate APC in the March 9, 2019 Governorship and state assembly elections.

The world watched with utter horror as @HQNigerianArmy under the command of the Buhari Presidency, hound, arrest, shoot, terrorize opposition figures and provide cover for @OfficialAPCNg thugs to unleash violence, kill opposition members, cart away electoral materials, etc

This resort to bloodletting, violence and official high handedness by the APC in our electoral process has further confirmed that this administration has no regard for the lives of Nigerians and lawful processes, but only interested in seizing power by all means.

The PDP notes that never in the history of our nation had a general election recorded such bloodletting, violence and manipulations as triggered in the 2019 elections by the @MBuhari Presidency and the APC

In Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa, Kogi, Benue, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, among others, soldiers brazenly aided APC thugs to unbridle violence, hijack electoral processes and write fictitious results for APC candidates.

In Rivers, soldiers invaded @inecnigeria office in Bori, beat up and chased away PDP agents and assisted the APC in ballot stuffing & writing of results. The scenario was the same in Akwa-Ibom where security agents provided cover for APC thugs in their bid to hijack the process.

In Imo state, APC thugs, accompanied by security agents disrupted polls in PDP strongholds and reportedly killed a @OfficialPDPNig agents in Umudo/Umuwala area of Owerri.

In Ajaokuta, Kabba/Bunu, Olamaboro, Ijumu & several other LGAs of Kogi state, APC thugs, assisted by soldiers invaded polling units & carted away ballot materials, a development which sparked off restiveness in some areas and resulted in mass destruction of property in the area.

We know that the APC plot to derail our hard- earned democracy and impose a fascist regime on our nation, but we are resolute in standing with Nigerians and all lovers of democracy to ensure that nobody, no matter how vicious, is allowed to vanquish our democracy.

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that 44 of its officers were involved in an auto crash in Gwagwalada, outskirt of the Federal Capital Territory, while en route election duties on Friday, March 8, 2019.

No casualty was recorded, but 33 sustained minor injuries, while 11 sustained various degrees of injuries.

The All Progressives Congress, APC has won the polling unit of Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the governorship election in Ogun state.

According to the result announced at the polling unit, Olukokun polling unit, Isote, Makun, Sagamu, APC polled 150 votes against the 13 votes recorded by the PDP while APC scored 96 votes.

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has attributed the low turn-out of voters in the ongoing governorship and state assembly elections to alleged rigging of the presidential poll.

Atiku spoke after casting his ballot at the Ajiya polling unit 02, Gwadabawa ward of Yola north local government of Adamawa state.

“There is low voter turn out and I believe it’s because of the last election which was marred by a lot of irregularities,” he said.

Atiku said the involvement of the military in the election is unconstitutional, urging the electorate to be law-abiding.

Speaking on his loss, Atiku said he was committed to challenging the result f the election in court.

He called on his supporters to remain calm and await the outcome of the legal action.

Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari said he expected Atiku to challenge the presidential election in court.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to the suspension of Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A statement by APC spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu said the NWC would also issue a query to the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu over his glaring anti-party activities, which greatly affected the fortunes of our candidates in the recently-conducted Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

But reacting, INEC’s Commissioner for Information and Voters Education, Festus Okoye, said Okorocha and Amosun’s suspension by APC was an internal party affair.

According to Okoye, the governors’ suspension has no bearing on their fresh status as senators-elect.

Speaking on the suspension and possible expulsion of Okorocha and Amosun by their party, Okoye told Thisday on Sunday: “The validity of the returns made are within the purview of the commission and the Election Petitions Tribunals.

“The suspension or expulsion of members of a political party is within the domestic realm of the parties and has nothing to do with the presidential and National Assembly elections.”

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of Aviation has reacted to the crisis going on between the Yorubas and the Igbos living and doing business in Lagos State.

Fani Kayode on his Twitter page on Monday described those terrorizing Igbos as ‘murderous scum’.

The former minister compared those terrorizing Igbos in Lagos to Fulani ‘terrorists’ in the Northern part of Nigeria.

On his Twitter page, he wrote: “The murderous scum that are terrorising the Igbo in Lagos shall reap the wind they have sown. They are no better than the Fulani terrorists that kill non-Fulanis in the north.

“These attacks are not done for and on behalf of the Yoruba: they are done for and on behalf of Tinubu.”

Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state, says he has sacked Adams Oshiomhole, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for anti-party activities.

Reacting to his suspension from the ruling party by the national working committee (NWC) of the party led by Oshiomhole, Okorocha said the chairman lacked the power to suspend him.

He said as a founder of the APC, he could say authoritatively that Oshiohmole was involved in anti-party activities.

He spoke on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television.

“I just heard from media reports that I have been suspended from the party (APC). I think Adams is seeking for relevance and attention,” he said.

“He doesn’t have such powers to remove somebody without following due process. I think Adams is the biggest player of anti-party in APC. The man has simply destroyed the party to a great extent.

“So, I have sacked him from the party. If he thinks he can just stand up and say he has suspended me from the party I founded, without following the due process, in the same manner, I have sacked him from the party.”

He accused Oshiomhole of imposing Hope Uzodinma, APC guber candidate in Imo on the party.

“The candidate that Oshiohmole imposed on the party in Imo State lost his votes for the Presidential election and all the members of the coalition in Imo State worked for PDP,” he said.
