A woman is accused of attempting to poison her husband, a U.S. Army airman, by pouring chlorine into his coffee. Melody Felicano Johnson, 39, from Arizona was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and adding harmful substances to food, drink, or medicine. Melody Johnson and her husband Roby have a child together and are going through a divorce, court documents showed, according to FOX 10. The documents stated that Roby began to notice his coffee tasted odd while he was drinking a cup in March when the family was stationed in Germany. He drank the coffee for two or three weeks before purchasing pool testing strips to determine what was wrong with it. First, he tested the tap water, which reportedly came back normal, but after conducting the test on his coffee, he discovered the drink contained high levels of chlorine. Roby pretended to drink the coffee while stationed in Germany and waited until the family moved back to Tucson, Arizona, this summer to alert authorities because he did not want to report his findings in Europe, according to court documents. When the family returned to U.S. soil in late June, Roby set up a camera inside their temporary housing in a hotel room near Davis Monthan Air Force Base to observe his wife's behavior – and the camera allegedly captured her pouring bleach into his coffee. On July 6, he filed a report with the Tucson Police Department, but police did not follow up because the video allegedly did not clearly show what liquid his wife was pouring into his drink, prompting Roby to set up a second camera disguised as a fire alarm. After the family moved into their permanent home on July 7, Roby reinstalled the cameras in that residence. Roby returned to the police department on July 18 to provide additional video evidence, and the new footage allegedly showed his wife pouring bleach into the coffee machine before brewing. She was then arrested. When police searched the home, they found that the coffee machine smelled like bleach. Officers also discovered a small container inside her personal bathroom that they said could have contained bleach. The couple had separate bedrooms and bathrooms, according to court documents. Johnson is in jail on a $250,000 bond. A high bail amount was requested because she recently purchased a home in the Philippines, which is where her family lives, according to local news outlet AZ Family. Court documents said Roby believes she tried to kill him to collect benefits.

Thank God it's Friday. Am I the only one who has observed this development or do I have someone with this same observation. I remember like 2 to 3 years ago, every weekend is always full of activities from wedding ceremonies, birthdays, naming ceremonies etc. I remember family members, friends always bringing aso ebi to me every now and then, but of recent I have come to realise that things have changed as these ceremonies have become scare. The trend at that time was building of event centres in every part of Lagos as the owners of these centres were cashing out big time. Things have actually changed. The economic situation is really biting hard on everyone and people only priorities what is really needed the most. The Lord will comfort us all. Note. I am not a lover of parties but I just observed this occurence. |

A marriage of only two days has come to an end as the newlywed husband has filed for a divorce, citing his wife’s disrespectful behavior towards his mother. This story was shared by Nigerian zoologist Abdullah A Abdullah, who sought advice from netizens. According to Abdullah’s account, the husband’s decision to seek a divorce was triggered by an incident that occurred during their wedding reception. At that time, some guests from the groom’s mother’s side arrived when the available food was running out. The only remaining delicacy was a portion of food that the bride had set aside for her own parents. The mother-in-law approached her daughter-in-law and discreetly requested some of the food to share with the newlyweds, as it seemed unfair for them to have nothing after traveling from afar. However, the bride firmly refused, insisting that the food was meant solely for her parents. Despite the mother-in-law’s pleas, the bride took back the food and poured it into the cooler. This action prompted the mother-in-law to slap her son’s wife, who retaliated in response. Although the husband learned about the altercation, he decided not to create a scene during the wedding reception. However, two days later, he filed for a divorce. Abdullah mentioned that the divorce case is currently ongoing, and despite his mother’s appeals for forgiveness and reconciliation, the husband remains adamant in his decision. |
Withheld salaries used to blackmail
our members to enroll in IPPIS , says
Osodeke
Academic activities in the nation ’ s
universities may again be paralysed
as members of the Academic Staff
Union Of Nigeria Universities (ASUU )
warned of a fresh strike over alleged
refusal of the Accountant General of
the Federation ( AGF) to pay salaries
and remit check - off dues of about
1000 staff for 13 months.
Chairman , University of Jos branch of
ASUU , Dr . Lazarus Maigoro , accused
the AGF of allegedly causing friction
between the union and Federal
Government , which may trigger
another round of strike .
ASUU President , Prof Emmanuel
Osodeke, said despite its promise to
the union to pay all outstanding
salaries before December 31, 2020,
government is still owing members in
many of the branches between two to
16 months salaries .
Osodeke alleged that government is
withholding members ’ salaries to
force them to enroll for Integrated
Personnel and Payroll Information
System ( IPPIS ).
He said: “ There are lecturers that are
paid for few months, after one or two
months, they stopped paying them ,
and all sorts of funny things . We have
met with the minister of labour and
employment ; we even cascaded it to
the Office of the Chief of Staff to the
President , but the office of the AGF
seems to be adamant on punishing
members .
On the next line of action , the ASUU
chief said there are procedure for
embarking on strike and the union
will follow that procedure . ”
Asked if the union had made any
attempt to meet with officials from
the office of the AGF , Osodeke said:
“ We have our principle of
engagement with government . The
agreement we reached in December
was brokered by the Minister of
Labour and Employment , and we also
agreed to meet from time to time to
look at the issues. We met in May and
raised all these issues with the
Accountant- General’ s Office present at
the meeting .
“ They tried to deny the fact that some
of our members are being owed . And
we were able to prove with available
data that they were lying and they
accepted and agreed to implement. If
any of our members enroll in IPPIS
today , officials from the office of the
AGF will pay you the next day , which
means that what they are doing is
deliberate .
“ We have sent data of our members
to them more than four to five times –
complete data. They will request for
one today we will send, and the next
month our members will still not be
paid . But if any of our members
decides to register, they will pay all
their arrears . It is a deliberate
attempt .
“ They even came last month to
request for data and we sent to them .
As we speak , more than 1000 of our
members are still being owed 16
months. Bursars of each university
have sent their documentation and all
corrections to the office of the
Accountant- General, yet they are not
paying our members , ” Osodeke added.
He alleged that the officials are trying
to blackmail ASUU members , using
hunger as a weapon to get them to
enroll on IPPIS . “ It is very unfortunate
that they are trying to kill the
university system because of personal
reasons, and I think it is wrong . We
will meet, get reports from all our
branches , get all available data and
the union will take the next action. ”
The nation’ s universities were shut
for nine months following a prolonged
strike by ASUU over unresolved issues
with the Federal Government ,
particularly on IPPIS and payment of
Earned Academic Allowances and
revitalisation of tertiary institutions .
According to Maigoro , the AGF is
insisting that lecturers must go to
Abuja and register for IPPIS despite
the intervention of President
Muhammadu Buhari .
On alleged non - remittance of check -
off dues by the AGF, the ASUU boss
said it is a deliberate attempt at
preventing the union from assisting
members whose salaries were
withheld , in a bid to force them to
register for IPPIS .
“ This we believe is also aimed at
deliberately frustrating the
implementation of the University
Transparency and Accountability
Solution (UTAS ), the payment
platform developed by ASUU .
He said the union has got to a stage
where it may be forced to take drastic
measures to save the lives and
families of its members .
“ We call on all well - meaning
Nigerians to advise those responsible
that this path will force us to take
very drastic measures . Invariably , it is
the children of all Nigerians in these
institutions that would suffer and not
just ASUU members .
MEANWHILE, the Senior Staff
Association of Nigeria Universities
(SSANU ), has advised the Federal
Government to withdraw its circular
directing that workers of Staff Schools
should not be captured in the 2022
budget .
SSANU President , Mohammed
Ibrahim , warned that the union
would embark on industrial action if
government fails to heed the union ’ s
request . |
Good day to the gurus in the house. Please I really need help concerning my Microsoft office 2015. I tried opening excel spreadsheet on excel but it wasn't opening even though word and PowerPoint were opening. So I thought I should repair the Microsoft office which i did by navigating to control panel>Programs>installed programs> right clicking Microsoft office displayed uninstall or change.. I clicked change and the repair offline. But the repair didn't bring about any meaningful change in the excel as it still didn't open. So I opted rather for the online repair. This progressed for a while and later stopped. Since that time till now I have not been able to open any Microsoft office tool (word, excel or PowerPoint) as the short cut keeps saying the program has either being moved or changed. Now the Microsoft office program is not in the list of installed programs any more and if I try to reinstall, it keeps telling me that I have a newer version of Microsoft office installed which I don't. Pls Computer tech giants in the house please help me as I have plenty work to do on that excel. |

God bless Bishop David Oyedepo. He is a man I respect and honour so much. Even through I am not a winners member. Do you think the Bishop has time to read all this trash you are all typing. He Who God has blessed no man can curse. He is indeed blessed. No matter how much you bash him from now to forever is blessed. Most people bashing him have not even achieved one hundredth of what God has helped him to achieve. It is easy to sit down in one corner of your room and type anything. Most people typing this will never be bold enough to say this things to him one on one. but because you have been able to buy a phone you use it as an opportunity to type rubbish. God bless Bishop Oyedepo, God bless the body of Christ and the gate of hell shall not prevail against the church. |

The Other side of rape. Following the different and rampant amount of rape cases and allegations that are prevalent in our society these days. I decide to put up this write up to condemn in it's entirety and also to enlighten as many concerning about rape. Rape according to the dictionary is to force sexual intercourse or other sexual activity upon someone without their consent. It is unfortunate that some men have lost the ability of controlling themselves when they come across ladies. I strongly recommend a very stiff punishment for these rapists. Rapists are selfish, only thinking about themselves not bothered about the physical, psychological and emotional torture these ladies go through. The aspect I really want to talk about is the rape of minors. A minor is a person who is below the legal age of responsibility or accountability. In Nigeria, a person is regarded as a minor if he/she is not up to 18 years of age. The rape of a minor should be condemned totally!!!. I still wonder why a full grown man will have sexual intentions towards babies. The nation is currently witnessing an upsurge in the rape of minors. We even hear of fathers, who rape their own daughters for years. Now to my point, some people always say the minor gave their consent to the intimacy not taking into cognisance the fact that these girls are still under the age of 18. If a girl that is regarded as a minor agrees to the act, it does not give you the Lee way to have fun with her. The onus is on you to educate and enlighten her concerning the consequences of her actions on her. Instead of doing this some men will go ahead to defile these minors probably because they are ignorant of the law which is not an excuse. Because the girl is a minor. An adult is expected to guide them on the right path, but it seems we have some adults who are ignorant of these. If that person is caught the law will see his offence an RAPE even if she agrees to the act. Even if she is 16 or 17 she is regarded as a minor. Nowadays we all know that girls have rapid growth and development of their bodies which confuse some men about the ages of these minors, but according to the law this is not an excuse. Men should always learn to think with their brains and not their third legs. Be wise don't allow yourself to go to jail because of 5 minutes of fun and spend years of regret in jail also disgracing your family. God bless us all. |
