Something is wrong with your documents. They will send your document back with your return FedEx/dhl envelop. Did you use any non- certified photocopies? Even if only one document has fault, they will return all for you to correct and resubmit.

Exactly. Immediately the embassy gets the documents, they will send you a mail listing all the documents and stating whether it is accepted and would be treated or not.

How long does it take for the embassy to acknowledge receipt of documents for legalisation?
I sent my documents about 2 weeks ago and I haven't received a mail from them.

I sent mine on Wednesday through FedEx. It got to the embassy Friday. I was mailed by the embassy on Monday that my documents are accepted and being processed, and was mailed again on Tuesday that they are finished with my file. I got my legalized documents back exactly a week later through the prepaid return FedEx envelope I put in the envelope when I submitted.

So 2 weeks is too long for you not to have gotten your legalized documents back. Did you follow the instructions well? Did you pay the legalization fee? Were you mailed that the embassy had gotten your documents and it's status is accepted?

Deekeem, premiercare, anyone who has been interviewed by the Belgian embassy, any advice on what to expect?

I have been mailed to show up for interview for my student visa to Belgium on the 7th of July in Abuja embassy. Anyone else invited same day?

I Submitted my application at vfs office Abuja on Wednesday and was invited for interview two days later. Going by what I've read on this thread I was expecting to be invited in at least four weeks time.

Basalt:
1. Yes, education in German government owned universities are free, you only need to pay some few Euros every 6 months depending on your school. They call it semester contributions which is mainly for your transportation within the city. It might even be less in some schools sef. That's free honestly.

2. If you can successfully fund your block account which is about €10,332 then you only need to burget for your flight, accommodation and small pocket money before the money will start being unblocked for you.
It depends on your pocket but I think €1000 (temporary pocket money plus accommodation) will be perfect after paying for your flight.
3. Nothing is guaranteed in Germany for you bro. You can even stay upto 6 months without working depending on the city you are heading to. When you stay that long, it means you will be living with your blocked account because no work, no income.
You can also be lucky to get a work within one month of arrival just like me,
But just note that nothing is guaranteed for you in Germany.

In addition to this, you have to note that before you get work in Germany as a foreign student, there are things you must do first.
1. You must first enroll in school and have enrolment certificate.
2. You must get your own registered accommodation. Getting an affordable accommodation in Germany is not easy, you have to know that.
3. You must process your resident permit and have your work permit ready.
It took me less than a month to get everything done and I was lucky to come around October when companies were actively recruiting for December prime work.

All companies in Germany will demand for these major things before giving you a job contract so everything depends on when you are able to get all these things ready.
It took some people months to get accommodation which is needed to process your resident permit and subsequently work permit.
So the faster you get them ready, the faster your chance of being eligible for employment.

Oh, I forgot to add this: even though I didn’t legalize my Police Character Report (I only certified it at a Notary Public), it didn’t impact my application and it wasn’t the nail in the coffin as I thought. I do realize I was extremely lucky and I took a big risk.

However, to future applicants, I don’t advise doing this! Ensure that you meet all the Embassy requirements before submitting your application.

No over rich religious leader milking the congregation dry and wasting money on useless white elephant projects in japan, china etc. Most companies are closing up but we are the most populated black nation on earth and business(any sort of business or service) will always sell. He pays over 17,000 people most of which contribute nothing to the economy aside his workers at convenant university.
