Sahara Reporters Sponsored smear campaign against Governor Udom Emmanuel By Okon Tom For some time now, Sahara Reportersowned by Omoyele Sowore has been on a mission to smear and disparage the sterling image and reputation of the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Udom Emmanuel through the publication of insidious and factually vacuous reports. When Sahara Reporters made its debut almost ten years ago, it was a desirable platform whose citizens’ journalism and activism reminded one of the America’s Muck-raking at the turn of the Twentieth Century, whose reportage and its messianic mission was to sanitize the stench that had arisen from the Gilded Age capitalism that had run amok, and to help push the agenda of the Progressive Era in American politics. The activities of the Muck-rakers whose motto was to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable” profoundly changed the way public policy was formulated and made America a more humane society where capitalism had a human face with attendant corporate social responsibly. The great thing with Muck-rakers was that they concentrated their reportage on issues and not on individuals; their reports were not coloured by prejudice or a mission to witch-hunt or to carry the agenda of certain individuals or groups and use such to hound, blackmail or out rightly publish falsehood about certain individuals whom they don’t agree with or whose politics they don’t like. Sahara Reporters which fashioned itself along the lines of Muck-rakers have since lost its initial luster, credibility and integrity. It has descended to a platform where truth is violated, where facts are no longer sacred. Sahara Reporters seem to have singled out Akwa Ibom State and the PDP-led government of Governor Udom Emmanuel and has engaged in serial witch-hunting and nit-picking expedition to create issues where such does not exist. Last year, Sahara Reporters acting the script of its sponsors went to town with a false report that the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the Senate Minority Leader, and Senator Godswill Akpabio’s election had been nullified by the Appeal Court. To show how reckless it has been with facts, and in a hurry to carry out the agenda of its sponsors, the editors did not care to tell its readers that the Appeal Court had not yet met, and as a matter of fact, the case was not billed for hearing until the next day, yet Sahara Reporters published the false story and had eggs thrown all over its face. One would have thought that having eaten the humble pie that the editors of theSahara Reporters would be more circumspect with facts, but they seem to be in a hurry to manufacture more lies and massage the ego of their sponsors. Consider the latest publication where it stated that Governor Udom Emmanuel had completed and furnished a mansion four months after taking office. It was the same Sahara Reporters that said the ‘’mansion” was constructed shortly after he was sworn in. Now, they are saying he built the mansion four months after he was inaugurated. Governor Udom Emmanuel until he was appointed the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG) and subsequently elected the Governor of Akwa Ibom State April 11, 2015 was a hugely successful Financial Services Stakeholder. He was on the board of numerous highly profitable companies and was the Executive Director of easily one of the most consequential banks in Africa-Zenith. Governor Emmanuel is a known philanthropist who had touched thousands of lives and his work in the vineyard of the Lord is legendary. Are the editors ofSahara Reporters saying that Governor Udom Emmanuel cannot afford a regular four -bedroom home? There is no doubt that the editors ofSahara Reporters are writing the scripts of its sponsors, but they should be reminded that the election of 2015 has been won and lost and engaging in some wild goose chase is nothing but an exercise in futility. The editors of Sahara Reporters should challenge their sponsors to prove to Nigerians that they are capable of leading our people and ensuring a future where they can aspire and dream. They should ask Nigerians if they are better off today than they were a year ago instead of engaging in obtuse and inane witch-hunt. They should train their guns on some of its sponsors who are unable to pay salaries of their workers or where a huge disconnect exits between the expectations of the led and the leaders. Governor Udom Emmanuel has in the face of dwindling resources, managed to pay workers salaries and compensations, kept his campaign promises and one would love to extend an invitation to the editors of the Sahara Reporters to come to Akwa Ibom State and see what Governor Udom Emmanuel has achieved through infrastructural expansion and concrete industrialization push in just eleven months. That way, they will be forced to challenge their sponsors and tell them to leave Akwa Ibom State alone, that Governor Udom Emmanuel is working and the people are happy and in support of his efforts. APC Thugs Snatch SENSIBLE MATERIALS In A/Ibom Re-run The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom, Mr Gabriel Ada, has alleged that suspected thugs snatched result sheets from electoral officer in Saturday’s council poll in the state. The Akwa Ibom REC told Akwa Ibom Trending in Ibesikpo while monitoring the election that the incident took place in one of the polling units in Obot Akara. According to him, suspected thugs in Obot Akara beat up an electoral officer and took away the result sheet for the polling unit. “We are still having pockets of violence in one or two places in Obot Akara but I think the security presence is good enough. “In one of my polling units in Obot Akara, staffs were beaten and the result sheet was collected,’’ REC said. He disclosed that security personnel were adequately deployed for the re-run election and that their presence had accounted for relative peace during the exercise. “Before this time, we had a lot of interactive meetings with political stakeholders, where they all resolved that the election will be peaceful,’’ he said. Ada restated the commission’s commitment to free, fair and credible re-run, adding that most polling centres received voting materials quite early. He said that he received few report of malfunctioning of the card reader, adding that he was impressed with the turnout of voters for the exercise. “The card readers function well and the verification of the PVCs, which it is doing, is very important to us. “Once a voter is verified, we also cross check to ensure that your name is in the voters’ register and after that, you are given your ballot papers to cast your vote,’’ he said. The REC also said that the staffs beaten identified some of the thugs with APC shirts an were chanting CHANGE.

IME UWAH:A Refreshing Oil Of Anointing! By:Pat Reuben I read with utter dismay and seemingly feeling the taste of swallowing a bitter pill, a local tabloid report; Global Concord of Thursday; 25th February, 2016 page 4 entitled:GUN STOCKPILING :UDOM'S SA ARRESTED!... How plot by Akwaibom ACP to abort arrest failed. The story went on to reveal that some armed operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad from Lagos, on Monday night 22nd February stormed Uyo and to the business premises of Mr. Ime Uwah, younger brother to Akwaibom Commissioner For Housing and Urban Renewal, Prince Enobong Uwah, with a search warrant that ordered them to search any discovered environment or premises owned or connected to Ime Uwah. Furthermore, the story credited that the operatives mission was necessitated by a petition sent in by an unknown petitioner from the state, with claims that Uwah owns a caravan where he stores ammunitions and uniforms of various armed and unarmed forces which he intends to use during the forthcoming 12th March rerun in some micro units and state constituencies in Akwaibom. This actually would have served the reading public the lies, false claims and purported reasons why the raid on his business concerns and premises aroused. But Global Concord veered off the true essence of information management and dissemination by concocting grievous, smear campaign, character assassination, and image-induced bartering on Ime Uwah on the closing paragraph of their story. It is indeed unprofessional deviating from the onions of the matter to getting worryingly attacking an individual who after the politically induced and motivated drama of Monday night; the operatives found nothing incriminating on him. Contrary to the tabloid report that even the intervention of the State Deputy Police Commissioner who stormed the scene of the raid several hours of negotiation with the team of operatives for calm, ordered them to follow him to his office at Akwaibom Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, where the operatives outrightly declined, insisting that they must go back to Lagos with Ime Uwah. It is indeed a fathomed lie and report manufactured in the pit of hell and powered by hatred, jealousy and a desperate attempt to pull Ime Uwah down. Everyone is aware that the operatives never succeeded in whisking Ime Uwah away and the issue of the petition on illegal stockpiling of guns and ammunitions in his residence was just a cooked up strategy to rope in this young, enterprising and focused-driven business personae by enemies of progress. Ime over the years has been diligent; tested and trusted in his career and personal relationships with both the young; average and the old in his immediate community(Uyo) and the entire state. If he had any questionable character Gov. Udom Emmanuel wouldn't have found him fit and worthy appointing him his Special Assistant on Marketing and Brand Management. Such a strategic position of handling the state brand affairs and image wouldn't have been given to a gun trotter, political thug and a street urchin as reported by Global Concord. We should not take delight in spoiling and pulling down this young, clever and dynamic rising star in our midst. Is Ime Uwah not worthy to be owned? Why do we prefer to image launder and polish outsiders then despise ours to the detriment of lofty and productive brains? (Nsido nno nnyin isua eti nkpo ye idem nnyin ntom)? We delight in the total elimination of people progressing and advancing than we do. This I believe is mere inferiority complex. I once had a personal business encounter with Ime Uwah and most times watching him from a distance and the lofty encomiums people pour on him on the streets of Uyo reveals a young man whose lifestyle is not self-centred in only enriching himself and his household. He has reached out to affect many in numerous positive ways. Testimonies abound, large-hearted, jolly good fellow and easy going. All these I believe saved him this ill-crafted and staged-managed embarrassment and who knows, his life may have followed along the line. God indeed came to the rescue and like a cat with nine lives, Ime Uwah has this oil of grace and protection hovering an aura in his favour. In a twist of fact again, the tabloid accused Ime Uwah as they manufactured more lies; that he may have been linked to last year's wanton killing of opposition by PDP thugs during the 2015 General Elections in the state which led to the invasion of the Akwaibom State Government House by DSS where stockpile of guns and ammunitions including billions of US Dollars were discovered(quite laughable ). Must we continue to dwell in telling lies and living in the fangs of fallacy? We are today fully aware of the grievous, violent, blackmail, propaganda and campaign of calumny implored by the wailing and crushed Akwaibom APC during the last general elections. They failed woefully to win the elections despite all this and all through the election litigation tussle which ended on February 3rd with the supreme court confirmation and validation of Gov. Udom Emmanuel as the authentic leader and occupant of the Hilltop Mansion. They are up again to devise new means and antics of witchcraft on PDP faithful. Ime's plight may not be far-fetched and linked to them. And once again, they failed. My brother and distinguished colleague like I earlier endorsed, I can as well assure you that nothing fashioned to destroy your destiny will ever come to fruition. I believe this is a clear indication for God to show you how much and far He has lifted you. From a distance i know you have been a blessing to many, don't relent that energizing effort nor be weighed down by the constraints of those who are planning to pull you down. Now that the battle is over; you remain a conqueror! (Nothing do uoooooo)! No one can tarnish the hard-earned image and seasoned repute of a brand moulder. SUPREME COURT CONFIRMS RULING ON A’IBOM GUBER POLLS TODAY ...HOW UMANA’S INTENSE LOBBY FOR POSTPONEMENT FAILED Desperate attempts by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom State Obong Umana Umana in mounting pressure for the postponement of the supreme Court ruling on his case with Governor Udom Emmanuel of the PDP, has hit a dead end. Global Pilot can authoritatively confirm that not only will the briefs be admitted today at the apex court, but ruling will also be delivered. Our investigations reveal that Umana surreptitiously approached high profile officials of the APC in Abuja, Lagos and was also seen in Kaduna in the last one week, where he is said to have pleaded with to use their positions and influence to pressurise on the supreme court to move the judgement on the election petition matter to a further date. The ‘extra’ time was to afford opportunity for more people to approach and mount pressure on the supreme Court egg heads to help concede Akwa ibom to APC having failed to capture any of the other oil-rich south south states. His contention was that if the supreme court is allowed to go ahead on February 3, 2016 for hearing in the matter, that the supreme court could follow its precedent in the Rivers state case by giving it's ruling on the same day of the hearing, and not giving room for their lordships to be properly ‘briefed’ by the powers that be. Global Post understands that Umana had battled all through the week to secure the assurances of the supreme court justices that the case will tilt in the APC's favour to no avail. Umana had been directed to accompany a former senator and presidential aide Ita Enang to go through the Director General, Department of State Security Service (DSS), Lawal Musa Daura to put pressure on the CJN to defer judgement on the election matter to a future date due to a flimsy reason of national security concerns. It was not clear if they were able to meet the no-nonsense CJN, however a highly placed source at the apex court has confirmed that top APC goons who sought to foolishly misguided the court had been rebuffed and the hearing of the case will still come up today as scheduled. “If they are asking us to shift the ruling because of insecurity, are they saying that Yobe that people are dropping bombs everyday is safer than Akwa Ibom? My brother our oga has no time for those corrupt politicians and if they push him further, he won’t hesitate to expose all of them,” the source added. All the cases so-far decided has been in favour of the incumbent governors as the apex court has dismissed the use of card readers as the only means of accreditation of voters before an election.

CAN THE SUPREME COURT SAVE THE JUDICIARY? The Judiciary, once christened as the “hope of the common man” is now prostrate. It now lies before the public bereft of its dignity, honour and candour. The reason for this sordid perception is not far-fetched. The rulings of the Tribunals and Appeal Courts in respect of the 2015 general elections have precipitated concerns on the integrity of the Judiciary. And so that tier once held in reverence and awe is currently suffering erosion of collateral proportion. Suffice it to say that unless there is urgent rescue, the Judiciary may be reduced to a nondescript facet that can neither inspire respect nor authority. The Judicial processes in the Akwa Ibom Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal and indeed others like Rivers, Taraba, Lagos have left many with doubts over the independence of this very important organ that is constitutionally imbued with the instruments of social control. It is a known fact that the absence of a judicious Judiciary is not only a panacea to anarchy; it is a collapse of the fabric that holds society together and in check. The judgments delivered in the case of Akwa Ibom Governorship Petition Tribunal lack the judicial ingredients that can protect the society. Just as the scripture posits that the truth shall set man free, similarly the Judiciary must be seen to adjudicate and deliver justice based on the grundnorm of truth and good conscience to ensure a peaceful society. It must rise above tendencies that place its judicial service in suspicion while inspiring trust that would assure the public that it is indeed the custodian of Justice. Let us examine in the main, the verdict of the Akwa Ibom Governorship Election Tribunal and that of the Appellate Court. It is pertinent to add that the Tribunal which was constitutionally provided by law to sit in Uyo, the jurisdiction of the election was through subterfuge machinations moved to Abuja. All the fine points of Law that were advanced and the many logical reasons ranging from that of logistics to cost to safety to accessibility were ignored by forces that thought that their salvation was in Abuja. They forcibly took the Tribunal to Abuja denying our young lawyers the opportunity of participating and learning one or two things about Election Petitions. But even with this, they failed to prove the allegation of possible violence which they adduced as reason for seeking the relocation of the Tribunal. It is believed that the relocation was achieved through the official peddling of influence which in every material sense is a gross act of corruption. But as a ruling party, it had its way. The Tribunal which sat in Abuja delivered an incongruous judgment that was conflicting, confounding, unsavoury and against expectation. It ruled that election be repeated in 18 local government areas out of the 31. The chairman of the three-man Tribunal, Hon. Justice Sadiq Umar further dressed the stage in a manner that hinted that the judgment was teleguided by saying: “What we have not been able to see as a Tribunal, the appellate court will see…” Many think that the Tribunal worked hand in gloves with the Appellate Court and had to leave part of the skewed and damaging judgment for the latter to complete. True to type and expectation, the Appellate Court acted in concert with the plot of the Tribunal thus given credence to the suspected collaboration. The Appeal Court employing inconceivable premise cancelled elections in all the 31 LGAs and ordered a rerun in the entire State. The basis for the outright cancellation remains curious just as the intent appears to be a deliberate ploy to have a re-run in which the apparatchik of power controlled by APC government would be put to maximum use to forcibly take the State into the kitty of APC. The nullification of the elections in all the LGAs by the Appeal Court on December 18, 2015 was to many provocative and not consistent with logic. The governorship election was held on the same day at the same time with the House of Assembly Election. Almost all the House of Assembly Elections which were legally contested and subsequently appealed, have been upheld with only 4 out of 26 scheduled for re-run. How then did the Tribunal and Appeal Court arrive at the judgment that of two election which were done simultaneously, one was isolated and adjudged to have been marred by irregularities or concluded not to have been held at-all while the other met electoral standard as stipulated by the Act. Such development is inconceivable and against the grain of reasoning. This is why many feel that the actions of the Tribunal and the Appeal Court have a potential to desecrate the Judiciary and lower its esteem in the eyes of right thinking people. Another irreconcilable aspect of the judgment was its superficiality and total lack of judicial depth. Elections are done in units. Trite knowledge of the Electoral Act informs that to prove irregularity in an election, there must be witnesses from the units. These witnesses during cross examination must convince the Judges that the elections were in shortfall of judicial expectation. Akwa Ibom State has 2,985 units across the State but APC presented only 54 witnesses. By whatever mathematical formula, 54 persons cannot serve as sufficient witnesses for 2,985 units. Therefore the premise which was used both in the initial piece-mill cancellation of 18 LGAs and the eventual blanket cancellation of all the 31 LGAs can be adjudged to be faulty and defective in all material particular. The ruling of the Akwa Ibom governorship Election is also said to be tainted by judicial discrepancies. There is the case of rejection of card readers as extraneous to the Electoral Act in one State and its admission as critical to the judgment in Akwa Ibom State. The duplicitous interpretation of the law which has given rise to different judicial decisions would confer erosion on judicial dignity if not urgently corrected. It was perhaps this fear that drew the ire of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed when he addressed top Judicial Officials recently at the Annual Conference of the Appeal Courts in Abuja. The CJN berated the Judges over the inconsistent verdicts from the Appellate Courts on the same matter. He said “as the guardian of law, we must not only be just, we must also convey certainty in our justness”. As we therefore count down to the last line of this legal duel to be delivered by the Supreme Court, the fear of further erosion of judicial integrity rankles with patriotic Nigerians praying for rescue. This is a chance for the judiciary to save itself from itself. It is the time for the Supreme Court to pour out the soothing balm that would restore the once known honour of the Judiciary. The way to do it is to set aside these inconsistent rulings and proceed to deliver justice in a manner that would not only stand the test of time, but would also serve as a strong precedent in law as well as find an enviable place in the bowel of posterity. “I want to invest in education and help other children get to where I am” – Ufot Ekong JANUARY 25, 2016ADMINDAKADANO COMMENTSDAKKADA BLOG Caught between studying in the United States or in Japan, Ufot Ekong opted to board a plane to the Far East at the age of 19, for the more challenging prospect of studying Engineering in Japan – a journey to fame, amidst monumental challenges. And so days, weeks, months and eventually, years of sleeplessly combining study and work were crowned with exemplary success when this Etinan son graduated with First Class Honours in Electrical Engineering from the Tokai University in Tokyo; recording the highest CGPA (since 1965) in the process. The first hurdle on this sojourn was the language barrier which Ufot overcame by enrolling for an 18-month intensive Japanese language course because “…the language problem was deeper than I had imagined and all my courses were in Japanese …” He studied extremely hard and finished language school with the best result. Next was the challenge of financial survival as an undergraduate. “One job was enough to pay my bills but not my fees. So I had to work and also to get good grades, because if you score over seventy percent the fees would be subsidized. I took two jobs so that I can make more money to pay bills and also save for school”. And so work and study he did; working after school (sometimes, all night) and studying at every opportunity he got (even on the way to work)! Upon graduation, Ufot who is currently doing his Masters Programme, deservedly won several awards including the ‘Best Graduating Engineering Student’, the ‘Best Overall Graduating Student’, as well as the University’s ‘Prestigious Award’ for an event called ‘International Friday Night’, which positively influenced the student body. Before these, he solved a 30-year old mathematics equation in his second year and.... The 2015 general elections in Nigeria may have come and gone but the issue of who becomes the Governor of Akwa Ibom state after post election challenges remains in the hands of the almighty God. The Bible has rightly said that; the leadership of any nation is ordained by God, before and during the elections; aspirants and those who subsequently emerged candidates of their different political parties may have sort to know their fate in the race from oracle’s fortune tellers, palm readers as well as prophets. Some were given full confidence by whatever channels they had consulted hence the disappointment and desire to fight back by some persons who challenged the success of Udom Emmanuel at the tribunal, court of Appeal and presently at the Supreme Court. It is in the word of God that; a thousand day in the eyes of God is like a day and a day like a thousand years. Despite the fact that the elections had come and gone, a prophet has risen who claims beyond doubt that God has anointed the former deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Nsima Ekere to take up the Governorship mantle of the state before 2019. Emmanuel Paddy Ogon, a native of Arakpang village in Mbube East community, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River state, in a long chat with our reporter narrates how God had revealed to him in specific terms that Nsima Ekere is the next Governor and would take over the Hilltop mansion before 2019. The prophet who says he had no plans to ventured into politics, neither does he know Nsima Ekere personally before he got transformed and called by God into the prophetic office recalled that he got born again on 25 August 2013 and was called of God the next day even as he has undergone several training from God and in the ministry, preparing him for the work of God. Narrating how he got interested in the Governorship position of Akwa Ibom state, Ogon said in March 2014, a pastor friend of his; (name withheld), who was convinced of his status as a child of God, had wanted to know the mind of God concerning the state and had asked him to seek the face of God for answers in that direction. “He wrote names of about 20 aspirants then and brought to me. Out of the twenty names, I read each of them according to their positions on the list to God and asked him to speak to me through the numbers since he knows every name on the list. “That was even when party primaries were still pending God spoke to me through a dream and gave me number three and number seven, which equals to ten. When I woke up I checked the list and number ten fail on Nsima Ekere. So I called my pastor friend and told him that Nsima Ekere is the next Governor of Akwa Ibom state. In the same October 2014, God said to me; Udom will give Nsima good fight but Nsima Ekere will be Governor. On the 14th of January 2015, I slept and as a man still under training, I did not see God’s prophesy coming to pass and all political parties had their candidates emerged and non had Nsima Ekere as a candidate. I said father forgive me for my unbelief because my faith was shaky after going round to tell everybody that Nsima Ekere would be Governor. On the morning of January 15, 2015, as I was lying on my bed, God’s word came to me again; saying that the race is not to the swift, the battle is not to the strong. That same day, as I got to the office, I was given a newspaper, which a story of the former Governor of Yobe State, Maman Ali and Sen. Muhammad Al Bashir was contained and how Manan Ali did not succeed on the Governorship seat after pushing Al Bashir away and how Al Bashir did not get to the seat after several attempts. I knew that God was giving me a message concerning his word and I understood him. Elections came and gone. God has still been talking to me in specific terms about Nsima Ekere and the Governorship seat; some which I cannot disclose for now but I know from the revelation of God that Nsima Ekere is the one God has given the seat of Government in Akwa Ibom to in this dispensation. Nsima Ekere is the Governor of Akwa Ibom state before 2019 before the present administration runs out, situation will rise in one of the political parties where there will be need for replacement of candidate and Nsima Ekere will be that replacement and will sit on the seat of Government in the state. He is the Governor that the lord has given to Akwa Ibom state before 2019. He will replace the sitting Governor, Udom Emmanuel. God has never talked about Umana Umana to me but he has always spoken of Udom and Nsima Ekere. Asked if the recent ruling by the appeal court that annulled the elections of the sitting Governor in all the Local Governments of the state was a pointer to the fact that the prophesy is coming to fruition, Ogon said; “I don’t actually follow the rulings and the unfolding of events, my own is what God has said, which stands at the fact that Nsima Ekere will be Governor of Akwa Ibom state in this dispensation. Just as I have said that a need would arise for a replacement in one of the political parties and Nsima Ekere will be filled in. Prophet Ogon, who was at the verge of committing suicide before God called him, said he was making his private conversations with his God public barely a week after the business guru and former deputy Governor of the state defected with his teaming supporters from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party at the center, the All Progressive Congress (APC) according to divine instruction from God to the Church in Christ Jesus to make them believe that God has actually raised him as a prophet. Asked how he will react to God in due cause if the prophesy does not come to pass? He says that he knows that what God has said is a definite outcome of his word. “It is certain that only one result from this prophesy, that is; Nsima Ekere is the Governor of Akwa Ibom state before 2019. That is the word of God concerning Akwa Ibom state.” Ogon stressed. |

UMANA UMANA ON RAMPAGE, THREATENS TO KILL UDOM'S AIDE The political war waged by Mr Umana Okon Umana, the failed governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress against Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has taken a turn for the worse as Umana is now threatening the life of one of the governors aides, Mr Emmanuel Nicholas. The well known Mr Nicholas, who is the Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel on Research and Documentation drew the volatile anger of Umana, after he wrote another incisive Article exposing how corrupt the APC chieftain is and how he allegedly looted Akwa Ibom State during his nearly 3 decades in the Government's Budget office, rising to Permanent Secretary and Commissioner of Finance as well as the Secretary to the State Government for more than six years. Emmanuel had stated that, it was morally wrong for Umana to have violated his oath of office by establishing a construction company AEC works in his wife's name, and managed by his blood brother and awarding multi billion naira contracts to the company using his position as the Chairman Finance and General Purpose committee, FGPC and subsequently abandoning the jobs. While charging Akwa Ibom people to be wary of a man who cannot separate personal greedy pursuit of wealth from public service, Mr Nicholas argued that, Umana's claims of probing the past administration. Is a hoax meant o deceive the public as a thief cannot probe himself. Although Umana's media aide, Iboro Otongaran has refuted the reports, umana's cult groups have been calling Mr Nicholas threatening him to retract the piece within 7 days or face their wrath. The aide of the governor in a chat with newsmen said he is now crying out that, to commissioner police Akwa Ibom State and Director SSS over his safety. Umana should clear himself as his threats cannot intimadate him.

EKET SENATORIAL DISTRICT YOUTH MOVEMENT 12 Liverpool Road Eket, Eket Local Government Area Our attention has been drawn to a certain news report by The Radar newspaper captioned: “Gov Udom Kick-Starts Re-run Campaign; as LG & Chieftaincy Commissioner, Works Commissioner Plan Campaign Rally for Eket Sen Dist on Saturday, reportedly levied Commissioners, Assembly Members, N20m, N10m each, respectively” and circulated online by the same publisher. We normally would not have reacted to the false and baseless publication by The Radar Newspaper publisher who is a well-known supporter of APC in the state, but for record purposes and the innocent public who may be misled by the publication. We want to state here that: 1. Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District have had their turn through His Excellency Arch Obong Victor Attah and His Excellency Chief Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio who have contributed immensely to the development of the state in the last 16 years respectively. 2. Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts have performed creditably well in terms of developing the state and bringing it to where it is today. 3. We appreciate our brothers from Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District for giving us the opportunity to produce Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as the Governor of the state, our own son. 4. If APC had loved Eket Senatorial District, they would have given us an opportunity to produce a Governor knowing that Akwa Ibom State is made up of 3 Senatorial District and it is the turn of Eket Senatorial District to Produce the Governor. 5. We appreciate PDP both at the National and State for zoning the Governorship to Eket Senatorial District to produce the Governor after Uyo and Ikot Ekpene senatorial district have had their turn. 6. Since His Excellency Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel assumed office as the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, we as his people from Eket Senatorial District have not formerly receive him. Hence the need for the rally. 7. The rally is NOT a re-run campaign as speculated by The Radar Newspaper, but to celebrate our industrious son on his victory at the polls and subsequent swearing-in as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and to celebrate his lofty strides in the last seven months. 8.The ceremony is organized by the Eket Senatorial District Forum and not by Commissioners, Assembly members and Local Government Chairmen as speculated by The Radar Newspaper. 9.There was no such meeting(s) between the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Rt. Hon Victor Antai and his Works counterpart Honourable Ephraim Inyang with House Members, Caretaker Committee Chairmen and Commissioners as reported by The Radar Newspaper. We urged there general public to ignore the false and misleading report by The Radar Newspaper and also advise the publishers to always verify their sources of information before publishing. Signed Iwaad Godwin Edoho Secretary General #AkwaIbom

WHY ITA ENANG MUST APOLOGISE TO AKWA IBOM YOUTHS Nsikak Okon I listened with great trepidation to the poisonous radio interview granted by Senator Ita Enang on Atlantic Fm recently and I must say, I am disappointed. The senator, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters, as usual took out time to demonize Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP in Akwa Ibom state. I do not have a problem with Ita Enang's opposition views but on this occasion, he stepped over the boundaries of reasoning. Senator Ita Enang accused Governor Udom Emmanuel of recruiting cultist for the upcoming re-run election in Akwa Ibom state and went ahead to say that the governor is using his several programmes targeted at youth development to recruit youths into cult groups. Ita Enang threw caution to the winds by insinuating that Akwa Ibom youths are cultists and I must say, this has gone beyond politics. Ita Enang I know ought to be a very busy man. His task includes building a robust relationship between the president of the country and the national assembly. That in itself is a herculean task that demands a lot of time, tact and resources. I therefore wonder why and how Ita Enang affords the luxury of time to be in Akwa Ibom often just for the singular purpose of prostituting around radio stations in the state and spreading false propaganda. It is either President Buhari has deliberately ordered Ita to come home and constitute himself into a big nuisance or Ita Enang has absconded from duties to justify the huge amounts he has been receiving from Obong Umana Okon Umana. How else can one explain Ita Enangs frequent visit home and his unnecessary and flippant outburst. The loquacious Ita Enang has over stepped his bounds this time and should apologise to Akwa Ibom youths. Ita Enang over his 16 years sojourn in the National Assembly has a very poor record of human capital development. He is a deeply selfish man, very tight fisted and a miser. Ita is obviously jealous about what Udom Emmanuel is doing in Akwa Ibom State, trying to give the youths more capacity to launch themselves into global reckoning. Ita Enang particularly said the oracle training is used as a bait for recruiting cultist, how silly of him. Ita Enang should offer a full apology to Akwa Ibom youths are trying their best to partner with govt to make life more meaningful. Ita should know where politics stops. Akwa Ibom youths are not cultist.
