Nollywood stars Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo and Doris Simeon have officially become students at the National Open University of Nigeria.
Actor Desmond Elliot took to his Instagram to share some photos where he together with Ini Edo and Doris Simeon take part in the matriculation ceremony.

However, the trio are currently on different movie sets, they took some time off to gather for this ceremony.
Elliot and Edo have since become students in the Law department, while Simeon joined the English department. The three film-makers and a few of their colleagues were recently given scholarships by the University.

Potentially habitable planet

Scientists think that Kepler-186f — the outermost of five planets found to be orbiting the star Kepler-186 — orbits at a distance of 32.5 million miles (52.4 million kilometers), theoretically within the habitable zone for a red dwarf.

Earth orbits the sun from an average distance of about 93 million miles (150 million km), but the sun is larger and brighter than the Kepler-186 star, meaning that the sun's habitable zone begins farther out from the star by comparison to Kepler-186.

"This is the first definitive Earth-sized planet found in the habitable zone around another star," Elisa Quintana, of the SETI Institute and NASA's Ames Research Center and the lead author of a new study detailing the findings, said in a statement.

Other planets of various sizes have been found in the habitable zones of their stars. However, Kepler-186f is the first alien planet this close to Earth in size found orbiting in that potentially life-supporting area of an extrasolar system, according to exoplanet scientists.

'An historic discovery'

"This is an historic discovery of the first truly Earth-size planet found in the habitable zone around its star," Geoff Marcy, an astronomer at the University of California, Berkeley, who is unaffiliated with the research, told Space.com via email. "This is the best case for a habitable planet yet found. The results are absolutely rock-solid. The planet itself may not be, but I'd bet my house on it. In any case, it's a gem."

The newly discovered planet measures about 1.1 Earth radii, making it slightly larger than Earth, but researchers still think the alien world may be rocky like Earth. Researchers still aren't sure what Kepler-186f's atmosphere is made of, a key element that could help scientists understand if the planet is hospitable to life. "What we've learned, just over the past few years, is that there is a definite transition which occurs around about 1.5 Earth radii," Quintana said in a statement. The pastor who said he be­longs to Saala Ogboni Fellowship of Nigeria (SOFN) – within the fraternity – where he oc­cupies the position of Oluwo and the third in command to the overall head of the fraternity opens up to The Sun about his member of the ‘Ogboni’ fraternity, how pastors come to their meetings for powers, amongst other things.

He said: “I am not ashamed to confess my mem­bership of the fraternity. I’m proud to be Og­boni member. In actual fact, being an Ogboni leader has made me not only a good disciple of Jesus Christ, but it has also gone a long way to make me a better citizen,”

"As a member of Ogboni fraternity, my life is having a meaning. I have prospered. My coast has been enlarged. Members of my congregation are increasing everyday. I also thank God that due to my diligence as a committed member, I have been able to rise to the enviable position of Oluwo within the Ogboni fraternity," he proudly told Saturday Sun.
On when he became a member of the Ogboni he said: Although, my journey as shepherd for Je­sus Christ’s flock is over 40 years, I became a member of the Ogboni society over 20 years ago. Initially, I was initiated into the Aborigi­ne Ogboni fraternity, that is the one they call Ogboni Ibile, but later I joined Saala Ogboni fraternity, and since I made that decision, I have no regret.

...Residents of Ejigbo town in Osun State were on Wednesday woken up by the noise of the structure which collapsed at the newly completed Ejigbo High School.

Our correspondent gathered that part of the school which had been completed and ready for inauguration collapsed at around 5.30am.

Some persons were reportedly injured, but there was no death recorded as the structure had yet to be occupied by pupils.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola had on Tuesday at his campaign rally in Ede listed the new school as one of the most beautiful schools in the country.

The administration built the school following the introduction of school restructuring by the incumbent governor.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Ayo Olowe, told our correspondent that the building collapsed around 5am.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said the school building came down due to heavy wind.

She said that the preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the building collapsed following a heavy wind on Wednesday morning.

She said, “The building collapsed due to heavy wind which blew this morning. Two artisans laying tiles sustained injuries. They were treated and have been discharged.”

The governor, while reacting to the incident in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, said, “The Government of the State of Osun regrets to inform members of the public about the suspect incidence of the collapse of the main hall of the newly completed ultra-modern Ejigbo High School.

“Information at the disposal of the government indicates that the main hall which had been completed along with other classrooms of the school came down at about 6am Wednesday after a loud bang.

“As a responsible government, it is too early for us to say what the exact cause of the collapse is until we have full investigations and advice of professionals.

“However, it must be stated here that all necessary quality assurance tests were carried out to ensure structural durability and integrity of the project.

“Engineers from the Osun Ministry of Works and engineers from the Structural Engineering section of the Nigerian Society of Engineers have been dispatched to the site to establish the real cause of this unfortunate incident.”

The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Sunday Akere, had earlier in a telephone interview with our correspondent blamed the collapse on sabotage.

He said that some residents of the town claimed that low calibre explosive was used to blow up part of the structure.

The Director of publicity, Research and Strategy of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, accused the Peoples Democratic Party of being behind the collapse.

He said, “I can tell you this categorically that the PDP sabotaged the structure. Investigation is going on.”

But the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Bola Ajao, denied the allegation. He said it was unfortunate that the school building collapsed.

Ajao said, “They are driven by what they will gain from everything. They used substandard products and now they are blaming it on PDP.”

What brings it to have the biggest church when the people who pray in this church have nothing to eat.

..Mind you, RCCG is not trying or competing to build a Church,you should know that the Church 'RCCG' is established already all over the world by God Himself. So, the issue of 'the biggest church construction' is not what we are talking about here rather a place to take care of the people during worship sessions.

Please, don't address issues with sentiment, you don't blame the Church when people don't have food to eat or making them to take the role of the government by constructing factories, and beside every worshiper attending the RCCG conventions or congresses are properly fed during this programs except you decide not to eat. You should also know that the number of people employed at the redemption camp from various works of life and fields including non christians are far more than what any factories will offer. please, don't give comment if you don't have your facts,..building factories to help the masses is a good thing but it does not take the place of a sanctuary...!God bless you.

crown777: Big church is not going to take anyone to heaven. I think Men of God should focus on encouraging followers to have a good heart and allow God to live in them. Attending the biggest church in the world is not a ticket to heaven and trust me the church will remain on earth. That money should be spend wisely.. If the missionaries that came around in the early 90's focused on building churches by now 97% of Nigerian would probably be uneducated.. Build more schools, hospitals and less churches.. Thank you

..I do get worried when I read the negative comments people are passing regarding RCCG and the proposed 3 km by 3 km New Auditorium..!WELL, whether you are a Christian or not, please when it comes to addressing 'MEN OF GOD'' whether they are FAKE or NOT, I will really want us to be very careful, many of us feel we are very bold or maybe extremely intelligent to say or write anything against people much especially our leaders post them on Facebook, Nairaland or any other social media, there are consequences for hating others you know! this make's you a self-righteous person who always look better than others, those you are condemning or criticizing may be doing the wrong thing no doubt, but you are not doing it for God either. You remember the story of Moses? hmmm! well, in politics that could be allowed and fine! But when it comes to things like this please be careful? Criticism is not new to the church of God even Christ was condemned too despite all His good deeds. Well, Some times this men of God may need it to be focus but beware! as some of you will soon criticize me after reading this, but can your criticism stop God's work?The answer is a CAPITAL NO!

Hear this, it doesn't really matter how rich a country may be, there will still be poor people, give them money every day THEY WILL REMAIN POOR...even in the time of Christ Jesus our Lord there were poor people that remain poor and even poorer because they refuse to do those things that could change their lives, God will not force things on you! Or make you rich by force as you have the power to choose who to worship so also you have the power to change your status.When you refuse to be educated for instance there are some level in life you can not get to no matter the help you receive from man (Choice)... certain things HE (God) said in His word that you need to do to be prosperous, you try them and find out, been poor or associating with the downtrodden always for the world to celebrate you is not a sign that you are Holy neither will prosperity take any of us to Heaven.

Now, my point is this, because you see someone walking with his or her bear foots or wearing rags attending Redeem church does not necessarily make the church insensitive to the plight of the poor. You don't criticize just because some other people are doing the same. Even if you give money to the less privileged in the church every day that will not make you a good person neither will it stop poverty in the midst of God's people you call 'poor people' any church you go today there will always be the poor, sick and the needy by the world standard. It wasn't all sick people that were healed during the time of Jesus Christ because all depends on the individual that need help.

There are various channels to help people in the church, and I most let you know that in all the Redeemed churches I know, they operate a functional welfare department that take care of the very needy people in the church and these are in different categories but the Irony of it all is that 90% of non Christian and non Redeemed members troop to these churches for help every day, scholarships program in the church is for the less privileged and in fact I got my job today through the help of the church.

I must let you know that the word 'POVERTY' is relative and is a thing of the mind, you will remain poor when you think you are poor and to come out of poverty you will need an ideology change and a new mind-set, Blessings comes in different ways and forms and all is not about money,money and money. Going out to distribute food and money to the less privileged is good indeed but don't you think I rather get the hook than the fish so I can be independent? God will not change His principles (word) because of any economic recession in the land! Whether you like it or not poor people will still be in the church because poverty isn't the absent of Money but the state of your mind..!

If you don't want to be poor learn to give, it is a natural principle (Law) that is applicable to every body even the Bible confirms it, that the more you hold onto what you have the more you remain stagnant like the lake that do not releases its water to its surroundings sooner or later it will sting and even dry up.Giving in the church or else where will only add to you positively.

Before I joined Redeem Church, Sentiment apart now, I condemn this whole thing of asking people to give,Tithing,Vow,Pledge,sowing of seed etc. Because I felt that why will someone ask me to give when I don't have since am 'POOR' and Jobless, but do you know the truth? Every one of us have something to give not necessarily to the church, remember the story of the widow in the Bible? She gave all even in her 'POVERTY'...In fact, I remain Jobless and miserable because I was a miser I don't pay tithe not only in the church but other contribution that involves money to help others, giving was my problem then. Joining the church however, changed my whole experience and ideology (when you don't plant you cannot harvest)

Afterward, I now see that giving make me happier, I became a blessing to others instead of collecting all the time from people trying to help me, I now give out from the little I have. So, no amount of criticism will make me not to contribute or give to Gods work, how they use or spend the money is not my business let God be the right Judge,the devil is enslaving people not to understand this basic and golden principle of life and I must tell you that it’s working for both believers and non believers alike.

Now,..After five years I left the University and searching for Job I decided to obey Gods word by giving and releasing the little I have even in pain! I was surprised with a very good job I never struggled for, got married with children bought my first car and later another one. I even further my education and WITHIN FOUR YEARS my whole life changed spiritually and physically, I discovered the secret of ‘GIVING AND IT SHALL BE GIVING UNTO YOU. EVEN IN MANY RETURNS’ that is the secret of THE CHURCH Redeem! aside from preaching Holiness the church believed in giving and obeying God injunction in tithing. Now, this may not be applicable to you but I believed it.

The building of the new auditorium is not subjectable to any public opinion but God's direction, people who give wrongfuly will not get any reward because you don't steal from others to help God's work. If your money is not clean please refrain from giving for you will recieve nothing from God.Though, many who by now know this secret will continue to give irrespective of your negative comments about the church. You can't imagine the number of people working in the Redemption camp now and the businesses that is going on there for both Christian and non Christian, a forest was turned into a CITY that is still growing. WHY do we dwell mostly on the negative? I think it is time for us to pray for our leaders both spiritual and political and stop condemning them. Can you really do better than them when you are in there shoes? do you really have a clear conscience when you condemn others, are you so sure you are doing the right things too? Those are food for thought..!

..non christian are also prospering even without tithing..

..there are people that are not Christian but are comfortable without giving..

This is madness, building more and more edifices while our people are almost dying of hunger, a classical case of taking money from the needy and using it to build babels to the glory of MAN. Reminds me of India who are investing in more weapons of mass destruction when 60% of their people starve, talk of misplaced priorities.

Do not give a penny to this project , pay your rent, bills , feed your children and then give to the poor and needy around you. Go to the Lord in prayer before you donate a penny, I am sure there are worthier causes all around us.

People, it is time you follow JESUS and stop enriching MEN and their dreams. You do not need to go to a specific place to find Jesus, if we have the Spirit , he is always present for he has said " I will never leave you or forsake you ".

Free yourselves from MEN, follow JESUS, on judgement day Adeboye will not save you or stand in for you, on judgement day RCCG will not save you, now is the time to do the right thing and go back to new testament Christianity.

Engineers at Gilo Industries in Dorset designed the 'part buggy, part aircraft' that can go from 0-60mph in just over four seconds
It can fly at a maximum altitude of 15,000 feet and has a top airborne speed of 55mph after transforming from a land buggy in three minutes
The SkyRunner is expected to cost around £75,000 with deliveries beginning next year, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has captured many a child's imagination, but a new all-terrain vehicle that can fly is definitely a toy for grown-ups.
A British engineering firm has unveiled an flying 'car' that is a quick as a Porsche but can also take to the air.
The SkyRunner is being billed as 'part buggy, part aircraft' and claims to be the 'ultimate recreational vehicle'.

It is powered by a one litre Ford EcoBoost engine that provides 123 brake horsepower and 147lb/ft of torque, which gives the unusual vehicle a 0-60mph time of just 4.3 seconds - the same as a mid-range Porsche 911.

However, the vehicle can take off and fly at 55mph in the air.The SkyRunner goes from buggy to aircraft in around three minutes and can take off on fields, grass strips and secluded beaches.
When in the air, it uses paraglide technology (a large parachute-like wing) to reach a maximum altitude of 15,000ft, although it is restricted to 10,000ft or 3,000 metres, which is a popular height for a sky dive and can still be above the clouds.

Engineers claim the SkyRunner is capable of 53 miles-per-gallon on land which gives it a 500 mile range but this is slashed to 200 nautical miles in the air.
The vehicle was designed by a company based in Semley in Dorset called Gilo Industries and can be flown by anyone with a driving license after they complete 12 hours of flight with a certified flight instructor.
Stewart Hamel, SkyRunner's founder and CEO, said: 'This vehicle will change the way people experience their world and provide pure enjoyment of flight.
'Imagine driving an all-terrain vehicle that can convert from road to air mode in three minutes - with SkyRunner, that dream has become a reality.'
The new machine will make its global debut at this week's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida, USA.

It is expected to cost around £75,000 with deliveries beginning next year…!
