Shekarau announced his decision to join the ruling party after a closed-door meeting with the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole.
The closed-door meeting was held on Friday in Kano State.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and other top party officials were also at the meeting.
Shekarau while announcing his defection said he believes that given by the current state of the political situation in Nigeria, it is important he moves to the APC.

MayorofLagos: PDP’s plot to zone VP to S-West or S-South, satanic, barbaric, inhuman —Ohanaeze youths
Meantime, the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide yesterday described the alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to zone the vice president slot to the South West or South-South geopolitical zone as satanic, barbaric and inhuman, considering the contributions of the zone towards the upliftment of the party since its creation in 1998.
The group further cautioned that nobody should take the patience of Ndigbo as foolishness and that they should not push Ndigbo to take a political decision that will bury PDP in 2019.
In a statement issued in Abakaliki, the deputy president general of the group, Comrade Obinna Achuonye and deputy national Public Relations Officer of the group, Mazi Alex Osaka stressed that the plot against the zone will never see the light of the day.
The statement read in part: “The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide had been drawn to a malicious report and nefarious plot that PDP had concluded plans to zone the vice presidency to South-West or South-South over the South East quest to occupy the position in 2019.
“This clandestine plot is barbaric, satanic and will never see the light of the day. OYC insists that the national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Uche Secondus should clarify this allegation immediately before Ndigbo especially the youths take their destiny in our own hands.
“We wish to remind the originators of this malicious plot against Ndigbo, that Ndigbo had paid their price in PDP since 1999. Its morally wrong to return the vice presidency to either South West or South-South after the two political zones had occupied the highest office of the president in 1999 in the persons of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and in 2010 in Dr Goodluck Jonathan, leaving Southeast out in the cold.
“Those claiming that Southeast had the least voters registered should remember that Igbo are everywhere in Nigeria and from our records, we are in 19 northern states, where we have 12.5 million votes and five million votes in the South West and how can you compare South East with only five states with South West and South-South ;that has six states each?” i laugh in pigin |

Butterflyleo: Good JOB FG.
Some are already calling it INVISIBLE projects of all time nonsense without even going through them to see that a lot of the projects were awarded long before PMB and some awarded during the last regime as well as the ones PMB awarded himself.
He has now taken on the huge task of finishing up on projects which were awarded some 6 to 12 years ago and left abandoned by previous governments as well as handling his own awarded projects.
I suppose those who are already calling them invisible projects are also referring to past governments who awarded and abandoned theirs while PMB is busy cleaning up their abandoned mess.

Politics › Re: Seriake Dickson Is Best Nigerian Gov. Says Secondus by alen4smith(m): 8:12am On Aug 25, 2018 |
chidima2019: The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has described Governor Seriake Dickson as the best Governor in Nigeria. He also hailed the tireless efforts of Governor Dickson at ensuring that the PDP remains cohesive and stable not only in his state but also at the national level.
A press statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Francis Ottah Agbo noted that Secondus gave the commendation when he led members of the PDP National Working Committee and the Board of Trustees to Toru-Orua in Bayelsa State to commiserate with Governor Dickson and his Family over the demise of his 72 year old mother, Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson popularly called Mama Gogo. Secondus said Governor Dickson has over the years helped to build a strong PDP into a global brand and had continued to support the party. As Chairman of the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, the PDP Chief said the Governor helped to restore peace and unity to the party at all levels. Condoling with Governor Dickson on behalf of the National Working Committee over the passage of his mother, Prince Secondus, described the death of Mrs. Dickson as shocking. The PDP National Chairman who said Mama Go-go was the Governor’s back bone assured that PDP will both physically and spiritually participate in giving Mrs. Dickson a befitting burial.
His words: “Mrs. Dickson was a powerful praying mother, no wonder you are so successful in your political career. She was on her knees praying and blessing you every day. She was a great and unassuming community leader whose services to mankind has endeared her to many.
Responding, Governor Seriake Dickson expressed appreciation to members of the PDP National Working Committee for identifying with him and the Dickson family in their moment of grief, noting that his mother was also a staunch member of the PDP. Governor Dickson used the occasion to inform them of his intention to immortalize his mother’s legacies of love and compassion by instituting the Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson Memorial Cancer Screening Centre. According to the Governor, the project is a private initiative aimed at stemming the rising cases of cancer, which has been silently destroying lives. “This is part of my own crusade to kick out cancer. At the appropriate time, I will reach out to people of goodwill to support the initiative and possibly save the next life.” These are the times we are confronted by our mortality and limitations. My family and I take solace in your visit and we feel honoured. It’s a tough period for us. The loss of a mother is not what one should wish anybody. She lived a life of love, care and compassion.” National Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin, prayed God to grant the Dickson’s family and the community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Members of the South-South Zonal Executive of the PDP led by its Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, the Bayelsa State Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen as well as the state leadership of the Civil Service also offered their condolences to the Governor.
