PoliticsRe: NAWAO. GEJ Is Quite Serious About This SGF Post. Does He Know What We Don't? by alex101(m): 2:33am On May 16, 2011
zstranger:
Are we talking of the same Bretton Woods Institutions being run by doofuses like Iweala, Paul Wolfowitz, and that r/a/p/i/s/t, whats his name again, oh yeah, hun, Dominique Strauss-Kahn?

The same World bank that came up with SAP for developing countries in the 90s?
@ the bolded you're absolutely correct about the WB's activities vis-a-vis SAP in the 90s. Although my friend, it takes two to tangle, don't you think? huh The
world bank (WB) is like every other bank, out there to make profit- either by hook or crook. Nigeria and other developing countries in africa (and the world) were not forced to accept the policy of SAP, but because of greedy leaders, they chose to. BTW do you know that the IMF and WB tried thesame prank on venezuela, but failed because Venezuela is ruled by a patriot in the person of Hugo Chavez.
To cut a long story short, WB "imposed" SAP on nigeria because nigeria was and is still being ruled by unpatriotic leaders,,,,,all the white man have to do is promise them and their family some sort of "green card" and the rest will be history embarassed IMO, I believe in saving ourselves by ourselves cool

PoliticsRe: Mass Defection From PDP Looms In South-East Over Zoning by alex101(m): 5:40pm On May 15, 2011
@ Onlytruth, thanks for your brilliant insight as usual cool

@ Ezeuche, I feel your pain, but please tone down the "fisherman" rhetoric, thanks.

For me, I've always maintaned that the greatest undoing for Ndigbo as a people is not learning from history,,,those who fail to remember history shall become history undecided. The lesson(s) of 1966 vis-a-vis 1967/1970 is all Igbo need to navigate the dungeon called nigeria. Nigeria is a cake walk as long as you play the tribal game others are playing. Ndigbo need to spread the news about the tribal politics others are playing in our various town union/kindred meetings as this will help in preventing efulefus and 21st century "Ukpabi Asikas" from gaining a foot hold in Igboland. I see them here on NL and other fora.
Nigeria is like hell,,,,in hell you don't live like an angel while others around you are living like demons,,,,,,,that is suicide. I shall strongly reiterate here to you my smart Igbo brothers that we as a people owe no allegiance to the nigerian dungeon. The efulefus will always tell us to be nationalistic like the efulefu of old in Igboland (zik, Ironsi), but we know where that has led us to, as we speak angry The solution now is to decamp to APGA cool
PoliticsRe: Video: Nigerian Businesses Prosper In Asia! by alex101(m): 1:13am On May 15, 2011
Chei! Ndigbo ana me' kenne unu! Chukwu gozie ri ayi niche' di e' gwu cool cheesy

At a time like this, I feel we have been massively short changed by not having our own country YET. We Igbo are known to venture where no nigerian will venture- this is what sets us apart from these nigerians,,,,we're light years ahead of these folks in this regard. Anywhere the nigerian factor is not at play, my brothers/sisters of the great Igbo race, I can confidently report to you all that we tower above our adversaries,,,,,INFACT, there is no competition, NONE cool
As one whose job takes him places, I can report to you all that I met with our brothers of Igbo extraction in Angola, Gabon, Ivory coast, Kenya, DR-Congo,
Congo-brazzaville, RSA, Namibia, Ecuador, Jamaica et.al. and they are doing what we as a people are known for- carving a niche in business for their respective selves cool I remember the bed and breakfast lodge I stayed at, in Quito, was/is owned by our Igbo brother and his lovely Igbo wife.
May this our brother and others like him in china continue to prosper, AMEN! May Igbo businesses in the homeland (Innonso and others) continue to grow against all odds. Finally and most importantly, may the SUN RISE AGAIN IN THE LAND OF THE EAST, AMEN cool

I thought the Ikwerre people say they are not Igbo? If this crisis escalate further, they(Ikwerre) should be left to their fate.

Before the civil war, everybody was Igbo, now after oil was discorvered, everyone is carving an ethnic identity for himself undecided

I kind of thought the comment was daft. Are you daft? U prolly are, because if you like daft things, you are daft. How is this the best post? Your standards must be really low.

You should know that Aloy and Ileke Idi are chick fighting so this is not too surprising. I would love to see them go physical but unfortunately I can only fantasize.

Nothing spectacular about these girls except that they are hotter than Ileke Idi by a long shot. They are like the everyday Nigerian girls roaming the street jobless. It's not as if they are as hot as Yaradua's daughters. They are good looking to sat the least but definitely not hot. Only ugly women like Ileke will find them hot.

Well, since you people keep telling us on Nairaland that your tribe makes up 60% of lagosians, guess which tribe is statistically more likely to have done the horrible deed (according to your logic)?

Anyway, I agree with SEFAGO. A 9 year old is dead and people are here using it to score cheap points. That's distasteful.

alexleo:
Today the good people of Imo state has proved to the world just like their Yoruba brothers that the will of the masses cannot be short changed by the greedy politicians for whatever monetary inducement. Its been a long war to root out the evil Government of Ohakim with a lot of manipulations played by the Ohakim cohorts to snatch the victory of the people. Thank God for the zeal and determination of our people not to let go their mandate by whatever gimmicks that Ohakim played. This goes to show that the good people of Imo State has something good in common with our yoruba brothers- The spirit of fighting injustice even with the last drop of our blood as been exhibited in this election. Now the rest of the nation can learn this wonderful lesson from us and move their state out of the woods. let me say it also that education is good, Imo people are highly educated and any state that is highly educated you hardly intimidate them becuase they will always access every important information concerning anything that is happening in the state and prepare for it. Thats why the yorubas also pulled through too. Governors should pls make education compulsory and affordable to their citizens if they must move forward in this 21st century. Gone are the days of politics of intimidation, rigging and short changing the will of the people. GOD BLESS IMO PEOPLE, GOD BLESS OUR YORUBA BROTHERS, GOD BLESS JONATHAN, GOD BLESS JEGA, GOD BLESS NIGERIA. AMEN.

ARRANT NONSENSE! angry
@OP, I think you have some growing up to do, politically speaking. Imolites and Ndigbo in general have nothing in common with yorubas in any form, shape or capacity, and most importantly politically. There is nothing special about the way the yorubas play politics. It is quite unfortunate that in nigerian political arena, you have to be treacherous and tribalistic for "brain-dead" nigerians to refer to you as "progressive" -whatever the hell that is undecided
Need I remind you that Ndigbo have been practising true democracy, even before the advent of the white men to the the nigerian dungeon. Have you tasked your brain hard enough to find out why the yorubas refused to vote for their messiah- Ribadu, whom they even gave the biggest broom in the entire yorubaland? huh I'm from Imo, and the last time I checked, Imo doesn't produce oafs and efulefus angry
