ndu_chucks: Kedu nwanne m. I've missed you here. Don't stay away, we need your refreshing views. smiley
Don't worry, very soon you abokis and your Yoruba wives will be the only ones posting on this site,,,,so I leave to your imagination the type of posts you'll be saddled with; even Seun will dread such grin.
PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by alex101(m): 4:59pm On Mar 10, 2013
I don't see the need for all these long back and forth. We should learn to respond in kind,,,SIMPLE. If a yoruba uses "Ibo" to address me in his post, I respond to him using terms like "Yoruba, Yoruba, Yoruba, Yoruba, yerubi, yoribea, et.al".
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by alex101(m): 4:52pm On Mar 10, 2013
In a civillized country, any reasonable political party will avoid a clueless person like Fashola. Those asking for a Fashola VP are gullible nigerians who stand for nothing, hence fall anything,,,these folks blows in any direction of the wind.

@ post, if the idea of the opposition is to seek for an Igbo VP rather than an Igbo presidential flag bearer, then they've failed. GEJ will be returned to Aso rock come 2015 and those who don't like it can blow themselves to hell, where their "72 virgins" awaits them.
PoliticsRe: North Shops For Vice-Presidential Candidate by alex101(m): 4:43pm On Mar 10, 2013
I dey laugh at these northern cattle rearers and their Yoruba house wives grin grin. Any attempt by the opposition not fielding an Igbo as its presidential flag bearer is dead on arrival cool. When 2015 comes, we will vote back our eastern brother GEJ,,,SIMPLE!
PoliticsRe: Fashola May Reopen Ladipo Market Before Weekend by alex101(m): 12:47am On Mar 10, 2013
While this is a step in the right direction for all involved, Ndigbo must now use their tongue to count their teeth undecided. This is a cycle and this action of closing market operated by Igbo by this governor or any other governor that will succeed him will not cease. Ndigbo must find a way to channel the major portion of their business back to the east.
It's not going to be easy, but with the Igbo can-do spirit, we can achieve this feat cool. Every Igbo organisation has to be involved in this endeavour, in the interest of future Igbo generation. From Ohanaeze, traditional rulers, SE governors, to Igbo senators and house of REP members. The Igbo politicians must pressure the GEJ administration to open up a sea port in the east and internationalize the Enugu or Asaba aiports. If these can be achieved, this type of nonsense won't occur periodically like we've been witnessing lately.
The traders (and other Igbo residing outside of Igboland within the dungeon called nigeria) MUST have to do some soul-searching themselves. Must they invest almost all their income in Lagos/where they reside? Do they really know that their hosts are wicked and jealous to the point of trying every trick in the book to make life unbearable for them? There is nothing wrong in making money outside of the SE within nigeria, BUT you don't have to build/sink almost 90% of your earnings in these places,,,,for me, I believe less than 20% should be invested outside of the SE.
Our people must learn to understand how nigeria works. Ndigbo must exercise restraint (financial/investment wise) when operating in hostile territories within nigeria. To me, the case of Ndigbo in nigeria can be likened to that of the Israelis in the Mid-east, who are surrounded by mostly rogue Arab countries. My brethren, we are surrounded and we must deliberate seriously at every level in Igboland. This vital deliberation has to start from every Igbo family.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by alex101(m): 2:47pm On Mar 08, 2013
Truckpusher: Delusion of the highest order.......you guys are so ok yet you keep running away from your region in your thousands searching for greener pasture that doesn't exist.

If you truly believe in your opinion that you guys are faring better than every other region of this country ,then you got what I'll classify as DELUSION OF GRANDEUR .
So moving from SE (a part of nigeria) to say SS or SW (both part of nigeria) means one is running away from his/her region? Again, have you seen how polluted your so called "niger delta" is and how the people's means of survival is constantly being threatened? Igbo should be the least of your worries,,,that is IF you're really from the niger delta. You own nada, for the oil under your land is firmly in the hands of the abokis up north.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by alex101(m): 2:31pm On Mar 08, 2013
pazienza: The funny thing is that the same land that they forcefully took from the south easterners,in the name of abandoned property, had long been bought over by the descendants of those south-easterners they took those lands from, Ph like before the war,is still in the hands of south-easterners,as they are the group that like investing in landed property, outside their towns of origin. The fact that they have succeded in re-buying those land back, shows that they actually acquired it before, because of their hardwork.
In the current nigeria, our people should learn to defend their ownership of any land they acquire through rightful means before thinking of buying any land,if they can't do this, then they shouldn't buy,,,SIMPLE.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by alex101(m): 5:21am On Mar 08, 2013
Truckpusher: Talking abt ethnicity that i come from in the Niger delta is a total waste of my precious time cos we all know where y'all driving at ,you can go ahead dream all you guys want but be careful that dream will always your Achilles heels.

Now back to our preference on one tribe over another; it was totally strategic for future military conflict....i hope you understand....besides you started a fight we knew nothing abt ,we tried our best and fell in our thousands yet we were labelled and called all sorts of name and this was after all the land grabbing (loan gotten from the banking system of the then eastern region solely for the majority to develop properties in phc that were acquired in fictitious manner) which was given back as an abandoned property after the war ,marginalization under the then eastern region .so,we made a choice and we never regretted it.....if we had made a choice the opposite way you wanted it ,it would have been worse right now and so far so good at least we've survived as a people .
This is one of the most senseless posts I've ever read on NL. So the "majority" acquired land fictitiously through loan from the banking system of the eastern region and the "minority" were able to get back those land via abandoned property? Can you provide proof for this assertion? As for your claim that you've survive as a people,,,I think you need to ask the average person on the streets of the so called "niger delta" how well they've been faring with all that pollution in their backyard. One thing most of you folks in the phantom "niger delta" don't know is that the oil you think belong to you had LOOOOONG been taking away from you and there's ABSOLUTELY nothing you guys can do about it. We Igbo don't give a fly f##k if you regret your actions or not as we are faring way much better that y'all in nigeria,,,,capish cool.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by alex101(m): 5:55am On Mar 07, 2013
The most unfortunate thing is that thread like this don't EVER make it to the front page. I just hope senator Ita Enang will rally his fellow senators from the so called 'SS' to rid these theiving abokis off their oil blocks. Imagine some desert-dwelling goon owning an oil block in the SS? Nonsense!
PoliticsRe: Ladipo: 32 Bakassi Boys Jailed by alex101(m): 3:29pm On Mar 05, 2013
bloggernaija: Lagos has always been a maritime hub even before precolonial times.so if you think the commercial viability of Lagos stated before the Nigeria ,then you need to go and re-read your history. Lagos is a natural harbour which mean it does not silt.very little dredging is required to keep it going and it is very close to other regional hubs in Freetown,Ghana,Benin republic etc.
On the econocmic front ,the southwest is such that there is a balance in savings and consumption. People save as much as they consume. That is why per capital, even if you remove lagos, most of the rest non oil taxes like VAT ,revenues from NEPA(power) etc are collected in the southwest.
Therefore, the traders are not in the southwest because of the port, they are in there because that is where the market is.
Also ,it was the total breakdown and destruction of the nigerian economy that led to an influx of petty sole trader. The likes of Barter,Phillips, textile industries,Peugeot ,Volkswagen,Beecham ,Pfizer etc were manufacturing concern in Lagos prior to independence and in the old western region and they sold directly to the customers via the departmental stores in front of their factory.it is safe to say that the destruction of the manufacturing sector is what has led to the situation where every Tom dick and Harry is an importer of goods .especially when just a cursory check will reveal that many of these goods are substandard or fake products . Many of my friends hardly buy big ticket items in nigeria anymore. clothes are bought in london, cars are bought through friends in america, mobile phone and computers from europe. It is safe to say that if there was a move to PH port like you just written, many of these companies will return. The fact is the world has moved from petty sole trader to larger departmental stores and shopping malls. The benefits to the state of a business employing just one person is not as great as you think .example is oncoming opening of india's retail market to foriegn companies.the government knows that it will be able to collect more revenues (PAYE,VAT)these companies than from a sole trader. Therefore, do not think that the traders are so important because believe me, they are not.
grin grin One of the reasons I enjoy yoruba company is their natural affinity for being delusional (though not all yorubas are). Do you know that Calabar/Ibaka ports in the east were both natural deep seaports? The tincan and apapa ports you see today was never a natural sea port. They were both dredged by the colonial masters as the areas around them were nothing but mere swamps. I will reiterate what I usually tell your folks here: "take away Lagos (which was made the FG and other nigerians), there isn't much going on in the SW". I have toured round nigeria and seen thins for myself,,,I don't depend on propaganda I see on NL.

BTW, I hope that the Enugu "international" airport comes alive and a seaport is situated in/or near the SE so Igbo can gradually pulling their investments away from Lagos. I want you guys to have "your" Lagos all to yourselves,,,,since ALL yorubas are "Lagosians".
PoliticsRe: Ladipo: 32 Bakassi Boys Jailed by alex101(m): 3:07pm On Mar 05, 2013
Dudu_Negro: the war has ended, another one has not started. a man of eastern origin is the president. the finance ministey and economy of the nation is in your daughters hand, the minister of aviation is your daughter, the minister of oil is your daughter, the speaker of house is your son.....what are you waiting for?

why with your sons and daughters holding the reins of power at national level you are still depending on a yoruba at state level to make a living?

when yoruba get to national stage we are going to expand and develop everywhere but we definitely are never going to leave yorubaland deprived of what it needs.

if they truly are thinking, shouldn't the centennary memorial city be built in east, since that was the first seat of nigeria? why do your brothers and sisters think abuja is the best place for such national edifice?

pack your shyyt and leave lagos so we can have space for people that understand the value of land and human relationship to move in. yeye angry
@ the 1st bolded, Igbo is not the speaker,,,so get your facts correct.
@ the 2nd bolded, Igbo do not in anyway and/or any shape/any form, depend on any yoruba state for survival. They're MAINLY in Lagos because it's part of nigeria. I hate to say this, but I agree with you on the need for top Igbo government official to seize the opportunity and develop the east,,,t hey should play it like your brothers in government by going "tribal". BTW, when yorubas get to the national stage, they neglect other areas while concentrating development on their own corner of nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Ladipo: 32 Bakassi Boys Jailed by alex101(m): 6:47am On Mar 05, 2013
kettykings: The Localization of 3 Deep sea ports in Lagos and Non in any other part of the Country was what drew igbos in droves to Lagos , prior to the uncivil war in the 60s very few igbos came to Lagos to do Business as the Port in Port Harcourt was able to accommodate the size of ships that igbos used for their Businesses.

The Springing up of Deep Sea ports in Bayelsa who are even planning a rail link to Onitsha, a Deep sea Port in Akwa Ibom who are also planning a 10 lane Dual Carriage highway to Aba, The Internationalization of the Airports in Uyo, Asaba, Enugu and Port Harcourt will be a game changer.

At a time Northerners were so much incensed in their Arrogance that they boasted that igbos can not do without them , if they Knew otherwise perhaps Boko Haram would not have attacked innocent igbo Business men , today igbo Businesses have Relocated out of most Core Northern states and the Governors are now crying that their Economy is gone.
The Economic Impact of igbos in Lagos will soon be felt when the Deep Sea Ports in Ibaka and Bayelsa has been finished .
Mark it Lagos would turn into Another Ibadan very very soon, with very low standard or living , old and Dilapidated houses and very low cash flow. with the Growth of Slums and ghettos out stripping the Growth of Estates and Business Districts.
@ the bolded, this is what these Yorubas don't get,,,if not for the war, Igbos will not be flocking to Lagos in order to access the sea port, as there would have been a functioning port in the east. After the war, there was/still a calculated process put in place by the owners of nigeria to starve the east of the necessary infrastructures.

@ post, this is where I must say Ndigbo must pressure GEJ's government to open up another seaport in the east and internationalize the Enugu airport. Ndigbo must also have to rethink their penchant for investing profusely outside the east,,,,a word is enough for the wise
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by alex101(m): 11:09pm On Mar 01, 2013
Ndigbo kwenu! Ndigbo kwezuo unu! cool

First of all, I give thanks to the almighty God for making it possible for us to conduct another successful election, for without his blessings, this won't be possible. I thank the tireless electoral committee headed by our selfless son pointB. Let me also thank the Eze Nwanyi, the one and lovely Ogugua88, manny4life, 9ja I hail, and all those who contributed to this year's by-election.

Personally, I will also like to extend a warm congratulation to my erstwhile "opponent", Eze-elect Onlytruth and I also call upon my supporters to join me in this regard. God bless Ndigbo as we look forward to working with our Eze in the interest of Ndigbo.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by alex101(m):
FreeGlobe: I get your point only that am afraid of a calculated attempt to install onlytruth by some members of the electoral team of which you may not be aware of.
I believe this exercise have been extremely transparent. Brother, we can work with whoever emerges as the winner,,,even to the point of tilting their views to align with ours.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by alex101(m): 4:36pm On Mar 01, 2013
Ngwakwe: The unfortunate thing about extending the election is that those Umuigbo we are trying to woo, don't know the contestants and their believes, antecedents or track records.

If my wife log in to Nairaland to cast her vote, who will she vote?

Alex - She don't know you

Biafra Rep - She will be afraid of your user name.

Onlytruth - His moniker is sweeter than his person

Verdict: She will vote based on the sound of their moniker and not the content of their believe

Reason: The nomination thread where manifestos and questions and answers took place is different from the actual voting thread.

What then is the point of extending the election?
I had to come in here to correct the mindset that most of us have as Igbo. If your "wife" is afraid/weary of the word Biafra, then I think you should try and work on her psyche. This was exactly what I zeroed in on my manifesto on how the media brainwashes people to hate what is right. I even read where our own Afam4ever said he already dismissed Biafra_rep simply based on his user ID, but warmed up to him after reading his manifesto. UmuIgbo must learn to work on their psyche. I've not seen Yorubas get weary of OPC neither have I've seen Ijaw distance themselves from MEND.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by alex101(m): 4:17pm On Mar 01, 2013
@ the electoral committee, I'm weary of this thread making it to the front page because of the sole reason of having it derailed by endless trolls. I believe the debate thread had more than enough info and link to this voting thread. Many followed that thread and should have no problem finding this one. I think we must proceed as scheduled for there's work to be done and the next general election for Eze Ndigbo NL is only less than 10 months away.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013 by alex101(m): 4:09pm On Mar 01, 2013
FreeGlobe: I vote Alex 101. This election must be extended. Alex must win! A zikite and Peter obi sycophant has no place in igboland in 2013.
Thanks for your vote, but I think I don't agree with the bolded, for it will be seen as a particular candidate is being imposed on the electorate. Brother, even if your candidate (me) don't emerge the winner, I believe we can work with whoever emerges the winner. I have resolved to work with the eventual winner and I'd encourage us all to do so in the interest of Ndigbo. Thanks for your support.

I'm tailgating everything .

.
Bros, I don't believe you should let people deceive you by quoting me out of context. I've stated that I'd defend Igbo's interests online/offline and one of the ways to this is calling out some of our Igbo sons/daughters who're fond of creating division. I have NEVER insulted any Igbo state,,,I be damned if I do that. I've always chastised a character by the moniker Abagworo, even though he's from my state. This I do because I found some of his comments on Igbo unity offensive. My use of the phrase "disorderly Igbo" stands for Igbo who will create confusion, all in the name of expressing their so called right to expression. Many of my posts in the archives of NL gives credence to my loyalty to Ndigbo online/offline.

I believe over time, ye shall become convinced.
PoliticsRe: FIRS Boss: North Accuses Okonjo-iweala Of Ethnicity by alex101(m): 6:38pm On Feb 27, 2013
Jarus: I'm disappointed in Shehu Sanni. FIRS boss is not like minister or board chairmen, we should bother less about ethnicity of whoever occupies the position.

They should let professionalism prevail. I know the current acting FIRS chair is a Hausa guy, Kabir something, who is the most senior director in FIRS if I'm right. I think he should be part of the nominees too, but I doubt Ngozi would play the ethnic card.

It pains me that we haven't gone beyond this stage.

As a tax accountant myself, I commend the last FIRS woman, Omoigui, not because she is Ibo, but because of the work she did.

This PwC guy, Taiwo Ogundele, to me is one of our best hands in tax today. I wish he is considered too. He is a very brilliant professional in his thirties. I believe he can continue from where Omoigui stopped.
People like you that like to appear neutral are extremely dangerous. So you now associtae Omoigui with Igbo, after all the debate on the falsehood by one Nowa Omoigui of Edo extraction?
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013: Nominations by alex101(m): 2:41pm On Feb 27, 2013
alfaman1: See another odumchi in the making. So you are now calling your people you want to lead disorderly because the Yoruba owners of nl like you? Do you want to introduce War Against Disorderlinees amongst us when you get elected?

Look at this mumu! Who are the fools that even nominated you? You hate the caracter of your own people but are proud that Yoruba people like you.

I repeat it again, if this guy wins, it wont last more than six weeks. Ask odumchi what happened when he said we were like canned fish.
Guy, I think you misunderstood what I meant by using the word "disorderly". A question was asked me what I will do different from Eze Odumchi, and I responded the way I believe it's right in the context in which the question was asked. Do you know that a thread about "Anambra vs other Igbo" was what brought about the call for Odumchi's resignation? Odumchi's "failure" to reign the troublemakers, who by the way constitute DISORDERLINESS by washing our dirty laundry in public was quite unfortunate. As Eze, I will remind ANYBODY of the danger of creating disunity amongst Ndigbo, as it leads to DISORDERLINESS. Its easier to destroy than to build. This is my own opinion and I stand by it.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland By-Election 2013: Nominations by alex101(m): 2:10pm On Feb 27, 2013
saintohia: @ Alex101 ,

What are you going to do differently to ensure that you'll not bring us back to Odumchi's scenario?

I'm not comfortable with your response time frame, it's too early to start apologizing.

Please convince me that you sincerely made up your mind to run, that nobody is pulling string for you from somewhere.

.
To set the record straight, I didn't support Eze Odumchi's resignation,,,I don't want folks getting the wrong impression. Haven said that, I'm alex101, and I want you to know that Eze Odumchi still has a role to play, even when he's not an Eze. If, I understood your question correctly, you want an Eze that will respond/be on every thread, at all times? That's not possible, but I, as Eze would constitute a governing body to help out in this regard, while doing my best to maintain a presence constantly, especially when it matters most.

As for if I'm sincere and not planted/nobody pulling string for me: I'll suggest you go through my postings in the archives of NL. Do you know how many times the owners of NL have banned me? I am the last person on earth that will bring disorderliness to any organisation as I detest chaos,,,especially to my people. We have too many disorderly Igbo here and I intend to remind them of how our political aspiration is/has been in disarray, with no end in site, hence; the need to chart a new course.
