nnenna.1:Nne, you don't have to stop coming to nairaland, but you can limit your posting(s) and increase your "observership" of this site, as NL is the exact mirror image of the dungeon called "one nigeria". This is where you get the mindset of your so called fellow nigerians, and they don't mind wishing evil on others of different ethnicity. Stuff about the war which Igbo parents had refused to tell their children can be accessed from NL,,,you just have to be smart and put on discerning mind so as to filter the falsehoods, for they abound on this dying site. |
owobokiri: Murtala was more of an empty vessel that made endless noise. If your typical example of action leader is Murtala then you have it all twisted. Ego driven, he was more interested in sacking all the top beuracrats around. You can point to the many dismissals he made without finding anything he built. A blood thirsty iddiot on steroid, he supervised the worst slaughter of defenseless civilians in the history of this country pre-Obasanjo. There should be a Dimka for every Murtala. The bastard is surely rotting in the hottest part of hellThis is the best phrase ever with regards to an evil monster like this man. Evil men only thrive when good men do nothing to confront them,,,(not saying Dimka was any good anyway, but he got the job done). |
My advice to Ndigbo is to stop posting on any thread that has to do with the so called "SS, ND vs north or south west". I believe the likes of ijaw citizen (if he/she is truly ijaw/niger deltan) and other so called niger deltans should defend themselves. We should learn to step aside and enjoy the show,,,that shouldn't be hard to do ![]() |
Afam4eva: What if someone intends to write "International Baseball Organization(IBO)", should it also be changed to Igbo?Since you became a moderator on this inconsequential site, you've lost your sense of reasoning . All you do now is to pull "your people" down. With folks like you claiming to be Igbo, Ndigbo do not need an enemy. Mere answering an Igbo name does not make you an Igbo, rather it's the need and quest to protect the collective interest(s) of Igbo (not your personnal interests) that makes you one. You are the Ukpabi Asika of our time, and believe me if asked to choose whom to associate with,,,,b/w Ukpabi Asika and Wole Soyinka, most sane Igbo folks would consider a Soyinka and won't give an eff about an Asika. It's been proven that "yari.ba" is an appropriate form of "yoruba". It's like saying 1+1=2 and some clown comes along and say no it's not, rather it's 1+1=11. Ehin, che echiche ofuma gbasara ihe nka e na' eme UmuIgbo na' site NL wurun' awun'. |
Dede1: The deliberate injection of the phrase- “Angry Biafran military pensioners” inside an article which originally did not have such phrase is a worse case of ethnic bias. They are looking for traffic BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY, hence; the deception in title of the said thread, since anything "Igbo, Biafra, Ojukwu" has been the only life-line of NL. Even old threads are recycled to the front page. |
ACM10: Seun is desperate for trafficI thought I was the only one that saw the desperation. |
The report also states that Abubakar Shekau, the sect’s leader had asked for N1 billion to free the hostages but finally accepted half of the money, after agreeing to the release of his members in Cameroonian jails as part of the deal.Let me see any riff-raff that would limit kidnapping exclusively to a particular group. |
Rossikk: ^^ Absolutely. The roads are filled with thousands of cars at all hours of the night and day. You wouldn't know this because you're in London.Dude, can you be truthful for once,,,,just for once? Thesame nigeria I just returned from, less than a week ago is safe to travel within, at all hours of the day? |
To my discerning Igbo peeps, this is to inform y'all that the dungeon called "one-nigeria" is for the evil doers and barbarians,,,a place where murderers are constantly rewarded. The ball now is in the court of "one-nigerianists" of Igbo extraction. If you must encourage Ndigbo to embrace "one-nigeria" and it's attendant evil, then you must encourage them to bear arms, for their survival. Anything short of this is suicidal. |
If the president go ahead and grant this amnesty to the northern nigerian islamic terrorist group a.k.a boko haram, then GEJ has just consolidated on the notion that politics is about permanent interest(s), and not permanent friend(s). Ndigbo must now channel their support to themselves, by floating a presidential candidate in an Igbo party. QED! |
chino11: Warn that thing called ABAGWORO to stop or we are going to stop him the hard way. He should focus on his state of imo. If he does not want the entire NL to see our dirty linen, he should stop or we will all meet here naked.Wa nna, jiri nwayo. Ndi iro anyi ga eji umu Igbo ama njakiri. Okwi ima na Ngige bu onye APC, o choro ka party fa chia Anambra. Ihe nka aburu ihe iwe na ogu. Dalu! |
@ post, This is simply called politics. In politics, you don't expect your political opponent(s) to praise you,,,they want to take your place by any means necessary, so they will employ every trick in the book to discount you, while selling themselves to the electorate. Peter Obi's supporters must understand this,,,the best they can do here is counter Ngige's assertion, without taking it personal. I say this as a neutral observer. Take PDP vs opposition fiasco as an example. You don't expect the opposition party to praise PDP at/for anything,,,they want to occupy aso rock too, hence; will sell themselves to the electorate as a better choice. So folks, lets keep the debate civil . |
@ Umunna; you guys should debate this issue cordially as brothers and sisters without making it personal. This discussion should not be turned into another "Igbo state vs Igbo state". I'm personally appealing to chino11 and abagworo to be civil in their discourse and not make it personal. You guys have the option to agree to disagree in a civil manner. Remember how the last "Anambra vs. others" turned out. The owners of this site and other Igbo enemies long for thread(s) like this, and they're always faster than the "speed of light" in putting things like this on the front page. My appeal goes to other would be Igbo posters on this thread. At the moment, Igbo is at a cross road in nigeria, and I believe we have more pressing issues that affect us all to deal with than this childish back and forth. |
The.Big.Urban:Huh @ the bolded. Well, my purpose on this thread is laid out for discerning Igbo, so carry on with your worries. |
The.Big.Urban:I believe people have the right to believe whatever they want, it's called freedom of expression. We have some northerners who believe that Uthman Dan'fodio is of Saudi Arabian descent, and I don't see Nigerians killing themselves over it. Anyway, I only came in here to put out what I believe will be useful to my folks going forward. |
One_Naira: This is one of the reason I find Nigeria a waste of space on the prominent African continent. This is a nation where free speech, free belief and free right are refused for the citizen. Everybody and everything have to hold the same f2ked up view, if not, it's a ridicule the other person views fiesta. What a wasteful country. Smh. OP despite claiming your intent was genuine, anybody can see it was not as you claim. So in your view, you justify others flying USA or UK flag but Isreal has to be condemn why? Well based on the replies I read thus far, it's una racism. Funny how a set of people point fingers to another race and condemning and insulting for displaying racism while at the same time, they are equally displaying racism to that same race they are condemning. in what way, are any of una better than the Isrealians that you all deemed racist? a pot calling the kettle black. LMFAO. I advise you all to view yourself in another's person of view cause you all are equally as racist as the Isrealians as you all have displayed on this thread, pathetic+100000 likes Well spoken, nwanne! |
Now this is my personal take on this Igbo-Jewish relation/ancestry issue visavis nigerian political/conflict landscape: I believe that Igbo may not be of Jewish ancestry (opinion formed based on the origin of man out of Africa), but one thing is certain and that is: Ndigbo, like Israel/Jews believe in the "sane principle" of life ("sane" is used here because not all principles are sane), which is "live and let live". The Jewish religion, like traditional Igbo belief system hold strongly unto this principle . This is why most Igbo that practise/convert to Judaism "effortlessly" fit into the Jewish religion and this is why you cannot disconnect this notion by substantial number of Igbo having affinity for Jew/Israel.Now, I would strongly advise Igbo that believe in and/or adhere to Judaism not to waiver in the face of criticisms, emanating from any quarter in nigeria. Our problem(s) are not the Jews/Israel, rather the imminent threat to Igbo survival comes from northern nigerian Islamic terrorists. It's on this ground that I as an Igbo, strategically going forward, would not mind converting to Judaism, so long as it aids in my conquest of my enemies . |
Lets await the usual "southern defenders" of anything north to come to the rescue. @ post, I already knew this via my cousin who works for INEC. The ball is now in GEJ's court to do something about the tribalism being practised in INEC. |
RIP to a great literary icon . You lived a good life and may God grant you eternal rest,,,AMEN! |
Ndigbo residing in northern nigeria must realize that Igbo as a people have no leader of integrity as we speak- FACT! There is no more Ikemba to speak on our behalf as he has rightfully joined his ancestors. Those parading or pretending to speak for Igbo WRT to our safety in the north and other parts of the dungeon called nigeria are only making mere political statements. These so called "leaders" are nothing but political sycophants whose sole aim is to amass riches in Abuja with their counterparts from other regions. These are men with no balls,,,no honor,,,no valour,,,and certainly no loyalty! Ndigbo in the north, your death means nothing to these criminals. Your safety in the northern nigerian islamic terrorists' stronghold is/and have always been your personal responsibility,,,you just don't know it. You must stop expecting politicians in abuja or law enforcement personnel, some of whom are part of these northern nigerian islamic terrorists, to provide safety. It will NEVER happen! Nigeria is still unravelling and will everly continue on this path as long it exists. Islamic extremism will never cease in nothern nigeria,,,the only way to defeat these northern nigerian islamic terrorists is to meet them head on. For those Igbo who have decided to make the terrorist region of northern nigeria their home, your can only survive in such a place if you arm and defend yourselves, violently if need be, for there will never be an end to northern nigerian islamic terrorism. Use your tongue to count your teeth! R.I.P to the dead! |
bamu_hanya: I feel for the victims. Not only this ones but all others even yet to be discovered.I am from the North and I share in your pains.Igbos need to keep tribalism out of such issues. So Nigeria as a whole stands with you for justice. It would be hard and difficult for someone like me despite my feeling towards this unjustifiable killing of the innocent to come out and join your ranks for justice with fingers already pointed toward me and my entire people suggesting we are all involved or we have certain hidden motive that we encourage against your people. That said,i share in your sorrow and hope the victims get justice.I stand with you if need be.I feel everyone regardless should see the bigger picture and where it could end. Thanks for your concern, but what do you think lead(s) to these types of killings and the most recent one we've just had in Kano, besides pure hate? If you ask me, Tribalism is one of them and Ndigbo are by far the least tribalistic group in nigeria, and that's why they've continually placed themselves in danger zones within nigeria. We are not accusing the entire people of north of this crime based on tribalism, rather we are doing so on some based on series of past events. Going forward, I will like to see reasonable northerners like yourself speak out against the extremist form of Islam that is taking root in your region, for the world as we know it frowns at such. If, you check out the websites of foreign news media like BBC, ABC, CBC, CBS, CNN, et.al, you will think nigeria has gone the way of Iraq with the recent terrorist act in Kano. |
@ manny4life, Eze Onlytruth, et.al, please check your hushmail, I've prepared a short statement for the "Kano bombing". Thanks. |
The question now for nigerians (especially @ Ndigbo residing in northern nigeria) is: do we realize that the version of Islam being practised in northern nigeria is an extremist one? Folks need to know that the only way to survive in such environment is to have a militant mindset. Any Igbo that resides in the north without this basic philosophy have no business living in the north,,,simply return to the east. Israel as a country is very militaristic in outlook, that's why she has survived (and will forever survive) all these years in midst of arab extremist. Athough, we are still in thesame country with these vampires,,,nonetheless, we must develop a militant mindset in order to survive and not be a sitting duck, before we separate. |
If Igbo politicians do not see the need to push for a state police, then I must say they're as blind as a bat. What most of us Igbo don't get is (in addition to the jealousy and envy we get all over nigeria), we are in a country that tolerates and encourages violent form of Islam. We live along side lslamic fundermentalists whose only aim is to subjugate others of different faith and ethnicity. One of the most closely guarded secrets is the extremist form of Islam that is being practised in northern nigeria. So you can imagine what a police or military officer with an extremist view will do (with little or no provocation) when posted to Igboland. Stopping these types of crimes has to start from everybody in Igboland engaging in some coordinated type of critical and logical thinking. We are loosing too many young men with no form of repercussion visited on our foes. "Geopolitical-Zonal" police is a logical way forward at this point in time. |
Good initiative. I just wish Abia can be governed by a visionary like Dr. Michael Opara or Chief Sam Mbakwe. |
I will have to agree and disagree with Falana on some points he raised. (a) I'm in with him on his demand that the FG provide the latest list of Nigerians that own oil block,,,I'll even go further that they be published based on state of origin. (b) I disagree with the lawyer on his stand that Sen. Enang was wrong. When the senator made his presentation, he did not include the multinational oil companies, for I believe the Senator was well aware of the 40% stake that they (oil Companies) have in nigeria's oil & gas industry. The senator must have strictly zeroed in on the total number of nigerians owning oil blocks. Simply put: for every 10 nigerian oil block owners, 8 are northerners,,,QED. Meanwhile, lets await the full list of oil-block owners of nigerian extraction. |
ndu_chucks: Nna, don't attempt to put yourself in the same category of your superior, Sam_Ikenna. I don't have to beat him over the head to get simple points, besides, he is not a bigot.I believe my point is well noted, even by a cattle rearer. |
ijaw citizen: This guy is so dull! You and your fellow biafran propaganYou are an empty-headed-brainless goat! So you have time to post all these lies/trash about Igbo, but you couldn't muster the courage to face the abokis that are robbing you off your birth right,,,hmmm, this line of chasing shadows is very typical of a group that will do anything to defend their northern masters. Fool, you've been exposed,,,you're not Ijaw. Try another moniker! |
