Once I hear, "my friend told me...", I brace myself for the lies that follows. A catholic priest can never do this. He will rather die than divulge what he hears in the confessional. |
A truly great pontiff. May he rest in peace |
36STATES:Cardinal Arinze is not your problem, your stubborn nepotic clergy are. He had no role to play in the Cardinal's elevation. Pope Francis had a special love for him when he accepted his resignation. He thanked him for his "holy patience." Obviously the patience paid off. |
mrvitalis:The Bishopric is not by election or popular consent. It is an appointment that follows a lot of process. Clearly, this excuse is what the mbasise people used to justify the hijacking of this office. Cardinal Arinze is not the Papal Nuncio and at the time of the appointment, was not an official at the Vatican. He does not belong to the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province and had no say in the appointment of the Bishop. A Bishop was given to the Ahiara people after the priests sabotaged themselves when any of the them was considered. |
True face of selfless humanity |
EFCC on secret operation, and the news is on media. Foolishness |
Congratulations Bishop Benson |
sonmvayina:God did not sanction it? I thought you protestants belong to the "sola scriptura" group. Those words were Jesus own words recorded by the four gospels. Unless you are telling me that God did not sanction Jesus words. |
sonmvayina:Jesus was plain enough when he said, "This is my Body...this is my Blood...do in memory of me." As a consequence, we believe and do acknowledge that we adore the true and holy presence of Jesus in that little Host. In other words, that little Host you so despise is the true Body of Jesus. It is biblical. |
Mercy Johnson is one black and beautiful woman. Machinegun91:Onuku! |
Reverend Sisters are free to marry if they have not taken their final vows. I suppose she was in her temporary vows and discerned that married life suited her than religious life. For those who do not understand, being in temporary vows is a lot like engagement. You are free to continue being a Sister or to marry. If one chooses the latter, then when the vows expire after the year, she is free to leave. If she chooses to still be a sister, then before the vows expire, she will renew it again, either yearly or bi-annually. This continues until final vows. |
Who can blame them? |
Isn't it interesting that when one thinks of the ills of Christianity in the ancient and medieval age, one quickly tags it a "Catholic" thing? But when it's something good, everybody will argue that it was Christianity. |
Clueless government, failed judiciary! |
Don't let anyone pressurize you into marriage. Marriage is not by coercion, it is by choice. You have made a mistake once, don't make another grevious one by tying yourself for a lifetime to one you did not plan for, or probably do not even love. Don't! Another thing, the sex was consensual. It was not forced. You both made mistakes and did not prepare for the consequences. You can come to an agreement on how to take care of the baby, like financial support and the like, but not marriage. It is not a written law that once one is impregnated, she must be married. Na mistake you do, you no kill person! The pregnancy might not even be yours. The girl might just be pinning it on you. I would have suggested doing a DNA test on the baby when born, but DNA test costs a lot. So, just try to be smart. Again, don't be pressurized to marry. It is not a must. Don't make a mistake twice. |
I attended boarding school and I'm grateful I did. If I have children one day, I will send all of them there. |
Well, Op... You presented perfection from one angle; the negative one and carefully avoided giving a wholistic analysis. I say we examine perfection objectively. True, the quest for perfection can be a really frustrating one. But the frustration at failure is equally matched with a zeal for success which rather than keeps one down, functions as a driving force that propels and makes a perfectionist keep striving. When critically viewed, it would appear that those who even give up easily and are stagnated, are those who settle for mediocrity. Perfectionists always have something to which they look up to. Once a goal is actualized, they set a higher goal and wok towards it. If a task is stubborn, they keep at it undeterred by the numerous obstacles and challenges they may encounter. OBALOLA55:Perfectionists share in the PERFECTION of God. |
invest as much energy and intelligence in fishing out the northern bandits, the fulani herdsmen and bokoharam. As they have arrested him, I hope the inflation in the market has gone down, the price of petrol is low and there is peace and security in the country. Rubbish. |
Unilag is being careful and matured, I might add. They can't just act impulsively on news from social media. She is Innocent until proven guilty. Even though the girl confessed to Stabbing him, it might not be a case of premeditated murder. It might have been in self-defence. |
This man is a psycho! |
Humility is the mother of all virtues. Well done Fr. Mbaka |
Mbaka followers went too far! Is he not subject to the bishop whom he promised obedience to? Can the bishop not summon him, transfer or ask him to take a leave if he so wants? To think that supposed Catholics went to the CATHEDRAL of the Diocese, the principal church of Enugu and desecrated the altar is very shameful. God help them! |
Thank God |
May God bless our priests! I admire the strength and endurance of priests. To spend a life time of service dedicated to others is a big sacrifice. Priests are being ridiculed now. Because of the scandals caused by few of them especially in the western world. Yes, few of them. Compared to the total number of priests in the world, the priests guilty of a sexual misconduct or another is less than 3 percent. But like always, bad news will always spread more than the good. Despite the ridicules though, people, Catholics and non catholic have a high regard for them. I have a number of friends who are priests and I must say, they are very holy and dedicated people, focused wholly on God and living a saintly life. I know a few who seems to be struggling. May God bless all of them and give them the grace to abide by him. |
Righteousness2:If the pope had said otherwise, I would have understood your name callings. But I can't understand why you are still calling him names after this very clear statement of his. If the antichrist does all he can to promote peace and preach love, to the extent of going to muslim countries to promote christianity, then perhaps we might want to consider christianity all over |
What a friend we have in Jesus. |
Fvckyouall:People hate gays because they have been brought up in the culture of hate and intolerance. Sadly, they hate whatever they cannot understand, and indeed they don't understand. It is disheartening to find that even educated folks and well travelled people could be this self-opinionated. I am for live and let's live. Personally, as a Christian, I believe in sex within the confines of marriage. I believe everyone is called to live his life in the best possible way. I believe in chastity and continence. But I also believe in love, charity and tolerance. |
InvertedHammer:Maybe I am this daft. Humans build temples of worship to God, places of worship and prayer. A place where they seek God. |
I have had the opportunity of hearing the Catholic bishop who is also a professor speak. A very learned man he is. Wonderful building. Magnificent Structure. A temple fitting for God. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to it's completion. |
The bishop said the absolute truth. There is nothing inciting in the video. The sultan is clearly looking for problem where there is none. |
Juliusmomoh:Any fact to back your claim? |
BeLookingIDIOT:No I won't pretend. Young boys have actually been preyed on by priests. But this amounts to only about a little percentage of priests when compared with the total number of priests in the world. Unfortunately, the bad ones no matter the number, will always overshadow the good. |
