The Bishopric is not by election or popular consent. It is an appointment that follows a lot of process. Clearly, this excuse is what the mbasise people used to justify the hijacking of this office. Cardinal Arinze is not the Papal Nuncio and at the time of the appointment, was not an official at the Vatican. He does not belong to the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province and had no say in the appointment of the Bishop. A Bishop was given to the Ahiara people after the priests sabotaged themselves when any of the them was considered.

They are worthless, a work of mockery; in the time of their punishment they will perish (Jer. 10:14-15).

Idolatry’s Punishment Is Death

Worshipping the Host is a violation of the 2nd commandment: “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…” (Exod. 20:1-5). Catholics who worship the Wafer can be closely compared to the Israelites who worshiped the golden calf (Exod. 32:4). Their punishment imposed by God for this most serious sin was death (Exod. 32:27-28).

The prophet Isaiah declares God’s immeasurable greatness and then asks, “To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?” (Isaiah 40:18). Any image of God is therefore an insult to His glorious holiness and majestic perfection.

For those who do not understand, being in temporary vows is a lot like engagement. You are free to continue being a Sister or to marry. If one chooses the latter, then when the vows expire after the year, she is free to leave. If she chooses to still be a sister, then before the vows expire, she will renew it again, either yearly or bi-annually. This continues until final vows.

When critically viewed, it would appear that those who even give up easily and are stagnated, are those who settle for mediocrity. Perfectionists always have something to which they look up to. Once a goal is actualized, they set a higher goal and wok towards it. If a task is stubborn, they keep at it undeterred by the numerous obstacles and challenges they may encounter.

I admire the strength and endurance of priests. To spend a life time of service dedicated to others is a big sacrifice.
Priests are being ridiculed now. Because of the scandals caused by few of them especially in the western world. Yes, few of them. Compared to the total number of priests in the world, the priests guilty of a sexual misconduct or another is less than 3 percent. But like always, bad news will always spread more than the good. Despite the ridicules though, people, Catholics and non catholic have a high regard for them.
I have a number of friends who are priests and I must say, they are very holy and dedicated people, focused wholly on God and living a saintly life. I know a few who seems to be struggling. May God bless all of them and give them the grace to abide by him.

People hate gays because they have been brought up in the culture of hate and intolerance. Sadly, they hate whatever they cannot understand, and indeed they don't understand. It is disheartening to find that even educated folks and well travelled people could be this self-opinionated.
I am for live and let's live. Personally, as a Christian, I believe in sex within the confines of marriage. I believe everyone is called to live his life in the best possible way. I believe in chastity and continence.
But I also believe in love, charity and tolerance.

I have had the opportunity of hearing the Catholic bishop who is also a professor speak. A very learned man he is.

No I won't pretend. Young boys have actually been preyed on by priests. But this amounts to only about a little percentage of priests when compared with the total number of priests in the world. Unfortunately, the bad ones no matter the number, will always overshadow the good.
