Why do you have an issue with the Mary. Hatred of Catholics has even made you to say obscene things about Her. You called her a horrible sinner and the likes. You are so ignorant and blind to truth. I shall not engage you again. But one last question, what is the name of your church? |
blueAgent:You can't even read. No where did I see worship. All I saw was honor. So what's your point again? |
Op, you see why I was hesitant to engage you in the first place. Because I knew you were one of those kwashiorkor christians who went to 6 weeks Bible School, and feel that they are now knowledgeable enough to condemn anything the Catholic Church does. I knew you lack the Bible knowledge, or even scholarly proficiency to maintain a position. You will only be moving from a point to another, not admitting when enough reason and evidence has been shown you, but moving foolishly to display your ignorance. Poor protestant, you feel frustrated that every one if your points is being countered, that the Catholic Church is almost effortlessly growing despite your efforts to pull it down, whereas people are leaving your church everyday for another. I will not tell you to leave your church, but only to focus more on your spiritual life. If you are really spiritual, you will be see the truth, and you will come to the church seeking. Ask John Cardinal Newman. |
blueAgent:You asked me to show you how praise and veneration to Mary is different from that if God. I have given you solid reasons and for two days you couldn't reply because you were empty. Only for you to surface and write " you are deceiving yourself". If you want to reply me, counter what I have written. If not, hold your peace. |
blueAgent:After shouting that I should show evidence, this is the best you can come up with? You cannot even refute one if my points and you are still writing. Now you understand why I was hesitant in engaging you at first. You cannot make or hold a point. Continue in your delusion. Continue with your obsession with Catholics instead of your Christian Life. |
blueAgent:Worship is a thing of the mind. I might prostrate when greeting my elders but it doesn't mean I am worshiping them. It is an honor I accord to the person because of his status as a older person. Thus, you might see people praising, or honouring Mary. It is not the same as worship. Catholic Theologians in past centuries, has differentiated the honor/worship we give to God, and the honor/veneration we give to Mary: Latria: Supreme honor given to God alone. This is also called adoration and worship, giving glory and to God. These words are due to God alone. Thus, you can't find a Catholic saying we worship or adore Mary. Dulia: honor given to angels and saints. We do not worship them, but recognize and acknowledge the power of God in their lives. Hyperdulia: the highest form of Dulia given to Mary, the Mother of God. |
blueAgent:I have answered your question. Open the link I sent you. Why are you afraid of doing that? Are you scared you will be wrong? |
blueAgent:Yes, I refuted nothing because you are supposed to be the one refuting. You Protestants will just type a simple question, usually a sentence. In answering the questions, Catholics will write Epistles for you, only for you to simply say, " it is wrong". And expect another epistle. I have simply turned the table around. Read the links and refute the answers that Catholics have given. It is that simple. |
blueAgent:Are you Protestants that dimwitted? Is that link not fact enough? I simply used your own technique on you and you are already tired. Refute any fact there, I say |
blueAgent:https://www.dummies.com/religion/christianity/catholicism/no-catholics-dont-worship-mary/ Can you read that and disprove anything there? It's really interesting playing the offensive ![]() |
If only the poster will devote his time to deepening his relationship with God, then it will help him beneficially. Keep on carrying Catholics on your head. Catholic this, Catholic that. |
I hate this Captcha stuff with all my being. Nonsense and Captcha! |
![]() See Bobrisky see Grammer o. Are you sure he wrote that? |
Viva Cristos Rey! |
Here's an artiste I really admire. Her songs lifts one's soul. Congratulations to her. |
Make jealousy no kill these people before their time o. ![]() Astark:Though your post pained me, I must admit you are right. |
My own na many years ago in boarding school. I was in SS2 then and was already hallucinating. (or was it real?) that a small imp spirit was always pushing my bunk at night. It was an Iron bunk and I always hear the creaking of the bunk, FOOTSTEPS along with a pig's grunt every night. So this particular night, around midnight, I was already awake, dead with fear and shaking. I then heard voices at one corner of the hostel and recognized some of my classmates voices. Relieved, I quickly jumped down and hurried to their corner to tell them my ordeals and stay with them until morning. It turned out they were operating phones, and when they heard my footsteps, they kept still. ( Phones were illegal). When I got there, I sat on Kelechi's bed. He was fast asleep. I heard FOOTSTEPS and turned around, only for me to see a figure crouching and hurrying towards me! Oboy! I have never been more afraid in my life. I took a moment to take a deep breath, and gave a shout that I was sure would send the demon back to hell. Na so I shout 'Jesuuuuusss' o. Kelechi wey dey deep sleep sef wake up follow me dey shout Jesus Jesus. E come fall from bed, roll enter under e bunk to hide. Na so the figure reach me; "Shh Shhhh, no shout abeg. Na me, na Oscar. I come borrow something from Simeon." I was first shocked, then began to laugh hysterically. My other classmates who were awake joined. Even Kelechi as he came out from under the bunk. ![]() |
iamJ:You are an insensitive beast. I hope you will say the same if your relative is one of the protesters |
Going through the posts have me another dimension in viewing Nigerians. As far as other countries are hit hard by this decision they don't care even though the policy is a double-edged sword. |
midnighter:And Protestants are literally doing the same thing they accused the Catholics of. Infact, they are soiling the name of Christianity. Not a week goes by in nairaland without you seeing a headline about crimes pastors committed. Who is fooling who? |
Omoluabi16:There was an era when Catholicity and Christianity was used interchangeably. To be a Christian was to be Catholic and verse versa. Our minds have not be shut, but your minds. Look at the state of religion in Nigeria and tell me who has messed things up, Catholics or Protestants? |
SilentRiddles:Where you aware of what ails him? Did you ever hear him criticize the Catholic Church? He only said he is now free. Truth be told, Patrick Edet tied himself and committed himself to what he knew and understood to be life long. They have roughly 11years of discernment to hear if God was really calling them to the priesthood. And you know what? He used his hands to apply for the ministries, both as lector, acolyte, deacon and then priest. It has handwritten so that in the future nobody will say he was coerced. He knew what he was signing up for and did it anyway. Now he's saying he's free. Yes, he is indeed free. I do not blame him for leaving. It's better for him to leave than to stay and soil the name of the sacred Catholic priesthood. He is now free, to marry, have children and do what he wants. You tell me to be born again. I am. I am born not only of the water of baptism but also of the holy spirit which God gives and which I received again at confirmation. I am daily fed with the body of Christ which I receive at Mass and with God's words heard daily at Mass and private reading. Go, read and understand before you say things on public media. You will only show your ignorance |
SilentRiddles:Have you been to a Catholic church before, NO! Have you met a priest to explain things to you, No! Have you even picked up a cathechism book to read for understanding, No. Keep fooling yourself. If you have done one of this, you can't be wallowing in ignorance. You claim that we don't read the Bible. Lol. Really myopic. We read three readings from the scriptures every Sunday and two on weekdays. I mean, really long passages which the priests explains at homily. But you don't know that, do you? You don't even know that the readings are arranged in such a way that in a year, the whole Bible is covered. Ignorance, I say. Afraid to engage you? As if. If only you know... |
SilentRiddles:Go and sleep and stop displaying your ignorance. You think you can read nonsense and start regurgitating it in public. Apply a little humility and learn |
Alexaonfleek:My sister, don't bother yourself with him. Talk from today to tomorrow, he's mind is made up. It so quite easier to attack than defend. I can easily write " all pastors are fake" in four seconds and leave you to write an epistle for me which I will still dispute. So don't waste your precious time with him. Leave him to his ignorance. But this I know, a day will come when penticostals will honor Mary and start naming churches after her. It will surely come |
![]() I saw a crazy one recently. English: she is smelling, do not touch her. Pidgin: she dey smell, no Tacha |
You don't want to change church, but you want him to change from a church instituted by Christ himself to a man-made church. You didn't give him an opportunity to even explain some of the doctrines of the church and you already concluded. Sorry Miss, your years of built up prejudice and ignorance cost you your engagement not his Faith. |
SirGod:And your reason for saying this is because? Conduct proper research Sir, and stop displaying ignorance. |
No, we are a strong and happy people despite all the happenings. We must give ourselves credit for that. Not many western nations can survive the ordeals we are passing through. Though at times, we tend to be happy and optimistic to the point of foolishness. One of our tragic flaws. |
Even though the returnees are not entitled to any benefit, I must confess that I expected more from the government, especially as they can afford to give 5.5b naira to some old rich men to buy cars that they already have. |
Nice move by Coscharis. Apart from it's positive economic implications, it is also an avenue for job creation. |
It is quite impressive. |
