Following the remarkable success of the 8th Edition of Democracy Heroes Award-DHA2020, the Organising Committee has released a statement of appreciation, commending the contributions of Institutions and individuals who played key roles to the eventual success of the prestigious Award ceremony, held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on the 14th of October 2020.

The amazing ceremony witnessed and recorded the recognition of notable and reputable personalities across key sectors in Nigeria. The statement was signed by Mr. Alexander Olufunshi Ajagbonna, the President of Face of Democracy Nigeria Projects, Organisers of Democracy Heroes Award-DHA. In the statement, Mr. Alexander outlined a list of persons and Institutions whom his organization may be unable to finds words enough to appreciate.

Grand Cubana GM, Omoaefe Ejere Gives Late Father Befitting Burial Amidst Top Personalities


Few days ago, the body of Late Capt. JP Ejere (Rtd), Father of Mr. Omoaefe Ejere, the General Manager of Grand Cubana Hotels, was laid to to rest in a well attended burial ceremony, which witnessed the presence of top dignitaries and personalities from across Nigeria. While speaking with StatePress Correspondent, Omoaefe Ejere expressed gratitude to the support his family received to have given his late Father a befitting burial.

Omoaefe Ejere thanked God for success of the ceremony and made special appreciation to some notable Institutions and persons, including his Boss, the Chairman Cubana Group, Mr Obi Iyiegbu and his Amiable wife Barr. Ebele Iyiegbu, Mrs Nk, his Directors, Sir Amobi, Sir Dave, Chairman G.U Ebeco Group, My Mentor, Prof. Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko holds talks with DG Governors Forum on Malaria Eradication in Nigeria

Prince Ned Nwoko today held valuable talks with the Director General of Nigerian Governors Forum Mr A. B Okauru on the need for Nigerian Governors across the Federation to key into the Malaria Eradication Project.

Ned explained the strategies for Environmental clean up which includes setting up 3 recycling plants on each state of the Federation and getting the state and local governments to buy into the project. Prince Ned was accompanied by the Malaria Project Coordinator Chukwuebuka Anyaduba.

The Director General who was once in Cuba for a Malaria Programme stressed on the need for Nigeria to be malaria free. He welcomed the initiative of the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation and emphasised on the fact that it was long over due for Nigeria to be free from the burden of malaria.

Democracy Youth RoundTable Holds Deliberations On Youth Unemployment, Insecurity, Electronic Voting, Others

With the African Giant celebrating its 60th Independence Anniversary, reputable youths from across several sectors have held a roundtable deliberation to provide strategic solutions to the growing challenges of the nation's democracy, especially with emphasis on youth unemployment, insecurity, electronic voting system and youth participation in good governance.

Few days ago, Democracy Youth Roundtable held her Independence edition, and it witnessed the distinguished presence of the Representative of Special Adviser to the President on Youth and Student Matters, Mr Tony Dan Isokariari- Government Relations Advisor, Amb Elijah Onyeagba, Nigeria Ambassador, Hon. Jafaru Ribad Member, Fed. President Of National Igbo Students Union, HRM Onyishi Unveils Projects For Igbo Students


The State President of National Igbo Students Union, at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, HRM. Comr. Emmaunuel U. Onyishi, has outlined series of development projects that will encourage responsive leadership and resolve issues associated with functional effectiveness in the Union, thereby seeking financial supports to enable the union achieve progress and fruition in her programs.


In a statement signed by the State President, HRM. Comr. Emmaunuel U Onyishi, he stated that the outlined programs of the union will be centered on purchase of land for NISU Secretariat/students skill Acquisition and empowerment center in Makurdi, provision of 18 seaters official Bus for the union, and the supply of personal protective equipment to be distributed to students at resumption, like nose masks, face shields and hand sanitizers, as prompt response to manage the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic within the Institution.


Other outlined programs include Agricultural venture, which will serve a dual purpose for the institution. In this venture, the the Union will specifically develop a plantain plantation, as well as a tomato and cucumber cultivation at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi. This plantation is expected to serve as a sustainable source of revenue for the union as well as an experimental and practical ground for students in related scientific courses.


The State National President also emphasized on the required financial support needed to achieve success in the Project. He however noted that the outlined project would encourage and support the intellectual advancements of Igbo Students nationwide, thereby curtailing the challenge of unemployment upon graduation and enhancing the contribution of students to nation building through proactive measures.


The union is sincerely seeking financial support from notable personalities, institutions, groups, Allumni associations, development partners and governments towards making the project a success. The State President HRM. Comr. Emmaunuel U Onyishi, who was coronated on the 27th of October in 2019 is optimistic that his reign and Administration in the union will create significant impact for Igbo students in the Benue state and across the nation.
