Eziagu Festival Of Heritage Records Impressive Cultural Exhibitions For Collective Unity Across Communities


The Eziagu Community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra state has held one of the most well attended historic and cultural festival in the southeast region of Nigeria tagged "Eziagu Festival Of Heritage". The ceremony was held on the 30th of December and witnessed the monuments of cultural and acrobatic dances, exhibition of cultural artifacts, Ima Mbem, wrestling, Igbu Oga, amongst others.

The Eziagu Festival Of Heritage was hosted by high leveled personalities, royalties and reputable individuals of Eziagu Community, which included HRH Igwe Bernard O. Emejuo, the Ebube Agu1 of Dara Kingdom, Chief Sir Dr. John A. Aforbike, the President General of Eziagu Improvement Union(EIN), Hon. Obinna J. Nwankwo, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State and Chairman planning community of the festival, as well as Comrade Okafor Ifeanyichukwu Destiny, the Ogele of Dara Kingdom and also Secretary Planning Committee for the festival.

In an atmosphere of fun, entertainment and several displays of cultural funfare, masquerade displays and traditional monuments, the festival also witnessed the special presence of His distinguished politicians, reputable personalities, traditional rulers and youth age grades across Orumba communities and senatorial district.
Among other notable political invitees are Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor, state House of Assembly Member representing Orumba South and Hon. Barr. Raymond Onyegu, Chairman Orumba South LGA.

While appreciating Guests and neighbouring Royal Fathers and Kings for honouring the event, HRH Igwe Bernard O. Emejuo, the Ebube Agu1 of Dara Kingdom, also applauded sponsors of the eventful festival, especially efforts made by Mapuije Ezeamolue Foundation in powering the occasion.

The Igwe also stressed that the annual Eziagu Festival of Heritage would continue to be an occasion that will help to unite indigenes of Eziagu community from across the globe with a vision to promote their culture and collectively help in developing the opportunities for the younger generations. According to Obinna Nwankwo, the Chairman planning committee of the festival, he described the 2019 edition of the festival as successful, especially with the impressive and massive turnout of friends and families of the Eziagu Community.

He also stressed on his concerns and how the festival helped in providing a platform for people to meet people, strengthen relationships and improve appreciable level of communal life. He noted that other festivals across Anambra and the south east region must imitate the Eziagu Festival of Heritage, especially with the peaceful and entertaining atmosphere it maintained all throughout the event.

In another reaction from one of Nigeria's notable, award winning media personality and publisher of Attention Magazine, Alex Nwankwo, son of late Chief GNC Nwankwo, acknowledged the festival as one that would forever be talked about, as he added that the collective unity as shown at the organisation of the event is more important than individual purity. He also stated that his might and capacity will be explored in promoting the festival across the biggest media platforms in Africa and across to world with a vi ew to promote the Cultural heritage of Eziagu community.

EFCC FITNESS EXERCISE: Magu Urges Nigerians To Support Fight Against Corruption As African China, I Go Dye Thrill Participants

It was indeed an atmosphere of collective encouragements, supportive suggestions and healthy fitness activities to raise awareness on the war against corruption at the "Fitness Exercise" event, organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in collaboration with EFCC Ambassadors. The event was held yesterday in Abuja at Jabi Lake.

The Fitness Exercise which was themed "Let's Unite In the War Against Corruption", recorded the presence of top leveled EFCC officers, Ambassadors of the commission, notable public figures, entertainment celebrities and residents of FCT. The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, who was humbly represented on stage by Tony Amkeodo, the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Media, urged Nigerians to unite and support the anti corruption war so as to enjoy the massive human and material endowments which the country is blessed with.

He also stressed that it was necessary for Nigerians to collectively support the commission in attaining the desired results in the war against corruption. In the words of Amokeodo, he says, "Nigeria belongs to all and its a collective work that needs the support of everyone". He added that the narrative of "leave it for government" must be changed as it is now a collective journey.

Some EFCC Ambassadors who spoke at the event like Radio Presenter Amb. Wahala, Ghana Must Go, African China, I Go Dye and others emphasized on the need for EFCC to be undaunted in its anti-graft war. Comedian "I Go Dye" humorously told Nigerians be supportive so as to enable the country deliver on its mandate to roll-back corruption. Also speaking at the Fitness Exercise was famous Nigeria singer "African China", who after a brief presentation of one his popular tracks notes that he was like a soothsayer when he dropped his hit song then titled "No Condition is Permanent, Mr President"

ECOWAS Youth Council Recognizes Amen Rochas With African Young Personality Of The Year.

The Chairman of Juremi Groups, Mr. Amen Rochas, has been presented with the prestigious and meritorious West Africa Youth Council honour as Distinguished African Young Personality Of The Year with Nelson Mandela Leadership Award Of Excellence And To Humanity in Abuja, Nigeria few days ago.
