It was celebration galore for students of University of Lagos as Big Church Foundation extended its scholarship scheme to the institution through its Ambassador Praiz. The exercise was part of Praiz Live In UNILAG concert held last week at the staff school Hall which recorded overwhelming presence of ‎students who were thrilled by the performance of the Big Church Project Ambassador with his A'list artist friends.

There was no better moment of excitement for the10 lucky students of UNILAG as they were presented with the scholarship certificate and donation courtesy of Big Church Foundation. Speaking to HIP TV, the official media partner, Praiz said he was fulfilled to put smiles on the faces of his fans as they made him who he is today through their support. He further thanked Dr. Churchill for h‎is benevolence and kind gesture towards the students with regards to the scholarship offers. 

The scholarship project by Big Church Foundation is a brainchild of Dr. Olakunle Churchill and a continuation of his youth and students empowerment programme across higher institutions and ‎primary schools in the country, as recorded with University Of Abuja, Northern institutions and Ondo state primary schools. 

The famous charity NGO which has impacted lives in Nigeria and other African countries has listed several primary and secondary schools in Dutse and Bwari area Council in FCT to offer about 200 scholarship to their pupils all throughout their academic year after the Easter celebration, With advanced plans to partner with Anambra state government to offer scholarship to students from the different unversities in the state.

AMB. RACHEL BAKAM HONOURED AS PATRIOTIC ICON OF THE YEAR AT THE NIGERIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD (SUPER WOMAN EDITION) 

It is no news that huge successes always follow Trailblazer CEO, Television Producer, Presenter, Actress, Peace, Tourism, Anti-Human Trafficking and Go-Back-To-School Ambassador Rachel Bakam aka Rachel the PIPER who is renowned for her Colourful presentation on TV, Acts of Kindness/touching lives and her undying love for Nigeria. Dana Air Bags Airline of the year 2017, 2 other awards  ....Crew wins King and Queen of the Air contest

Dana Air has been announced as the airline of the year 2017, at the 8th edition of the Nigerian Aviation Awards and Presidential Dinner, held recently at the Oriental Hotel Lagos. 
 
The airline’s CEO,Jacky Hathiramani, Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa also bagged the CEO of the year, and Aviation Corporate Promotions Personality of the year 2017 awards respectively, while the airline’s crew members; Collins Ginika and Chiogo Okani, won the King and Queen of the Air contest at the event.  
 
The king and queen of the air contest is a newly- introduced initiative by the organizers of the NIGAV awards, where the various domestic airlines' crew get to answer questions on how they handle safety issues, ensure comfort of passengers  and how to be a good crew member. 
 
The duo from Dana Air, also performed their first assignment at the event by presenting cash gifts to an orphanage present at the event.  They have also become ambassadors of the NIGAV awards and will represent the industry at various aviation events for their intelligent display at the awards and mastery of civil aviation regulations 
 
The Media and Communications Manager of Dana Air, Kingsley Ezenwa, who received the award  on behalf of the airline said," we thank the organizers of the Nigerian Aviation Awards for recognizing our efforts towards providing safe, reliable and affordable air transport in Nigeria, and we wish to assure our guests of our unwavering commitment towards maintaining our standards and upping the ante on all fronts.''
 
On the CEO of the year award, Kingsley said" a big thank you to all those who voted our indefatigable CEO, Mr Jacky Hathiramani. Prior to the CAF Confederation Cup 2nd leg match between Akwa United and Al-Ittihad of Libya, some of our hostile North African brothers had bullied us on social media. One of their threats was that we do not have fans to intimidate opponent or cheer Akwa United to victory. Even when I brag about our sensational attacking force with the likes of Ubong Friday, Aniekeme Asuquo and Victor Mbaoma, I had more volleys of harsh replies with some ‘F…’ language.  A boastful Akram S H, from Libya posted on Facebook, ‘if you have fans you can win!’

The North African football is no doubt, far developed than ours with great quality and patronage. Thanks to the fans ‘force’ whose crucial role is observable to exert influence on the psychology of visitors, officials, economy and cultural advantage.

MFM FC could tell the difference after being white-wash before intimidating MC Alger with fans’ filled stadium. Similarly, Aniekan Udofia of Atlantic FM, Uyo recounted a frightening experience upon entering Tunisia as part of Akwa delegation for Al-Ittihad versus Akwa United.  A mere chant of the team’s anthem by thousands of voices made his feeble mind ask ‘is this war?’

No! But the home players would have something inspiring that the visiting players will only have in the dressing room — Nonstop motivation! In their thousand and sometime at four to three section of the stadium their voices with thunder and praise singing will be louder than that of our many drums and trumpets. They will go bare body in extreme cold weather and boo opposition player’s skilful dribble. Their deviance to nature sends a strong message to their foes while giving their friends a sense of commitment and focus on winning. Thus they sing and chant till the final blast of the whistle. Such fans surely prove that, ‘ you will never walk alone.’  

The move by Dana Air to reward Akwa United fans is therefore commendable. Apart from the excitement of being a lucky flight ticket winner, there is a general pride of partnership and hope of being rewarded one day.

From his perspective, a seasoned sportsman, coach and administrator observed that Dana’s reaction to fans supports business developmental process in sports. ‘‘Normally when I was playing, before we come to the stadium, it will be filled up. And the moment the stadium is filled up you try to let the fans enjoy your own talent that God has given to you. By mere looking at the pack full of crowd, you will try to show off your talent.  All what you see Dana Air do is sports development and it is to boast the morale of the players, if they do well you appreciate them and they will be ready for the next match . For me I want to really appreciate the Dana Airline for what there are doing. These days it is not only government that has to do it. We need to look for sponsors at least to help in developing sports.” Coach Aniedi Dickson, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports reacted.

For Mathew Etim, Akwa’s regular right full back, “it gives me more strength and power to play. If I was worn out, the fans’ chant and songs adds more spirit to play more. You know I have played CAF competition a couple times before now, I have seen a whole lot of fans in different countries cheering their team. Our own is our own. I love the recent increase in Akwa fans and even if you’re losing the fans still stand in for you, clapping and motivating you with every power they have. I appreciate them. Unlike before, hardly you see fans coming out like this. I think our play can also make the fans increase in numbers. If we play well for instance, to the view of three friends in the stadium, they will come back with more friends and family. They will say ‘old boy if you come and see the way Akwa play today, omo you will enjoy yourself’. I love what Dana air did and encourage more organisation and individual to motivate the fans. More will come to try their luck. ”

Gabriel Wassa said, “Every player needs fans because with the fans you will be able to do well in other for them to be happy. I believe fans play a very big part in football development. I always feel happy anytime I enter the stadium, see fans fill it up and cheering. Like when we play Al-Ittihad in Tunisia you their fan fill up the space as if we were playing them in Libya. I expect something special from the fans like singing for long not just the supporters club doing it. Different fans at different point doing their thing.’

For a stadium jam packed with fans, it makes central defender, Godspower Igudia feel thus. “one thing about fans is that there are the 12th man, you understand. They are very very important. They support and push the team even when you are left with your last strength. When you see the fans cheer you up, you will be boosted. It is something extraordinary so they are the 12th man of the team. One thing to increase the fans base is to increase awareness of the game and publicize the game on different media and languge. Also encourage them with some goddies when they come to the field. Those little things count a lot. What Dana Air did is a good initiative, its a good one and we must commend Dana Air. I believe this one is the tip of the iceberg they will definitely do more.’’

For the tall defender who has seen action in Switzerland and India, Akwa United vice captain Emmanuel Ariwachuckwu, there is also business reward if one invest in fans. ‘’You see in football, big crowd of fans are the tonic of the game. When you see big fans, I think they bring out more of you and you will want to show them what you know how to do. With more fans at the stadium our game is going to improve dramatically. My brother you need to see what it means to be a fan when we played Ittihad at Tunisia. There were no drums but their voice was deafening than a thousands of drums in Nigerian league. That is what they call fans. North African fans are good. Due to situation of things in Nigeria, the fans here need motivation. I don’t know if those ones in North Africa are paid, but we need a platform we can generate fans, we also educate them on the importance of cheering their players. If we have half of Ittihad fans in Akwa Ibom or Nigeria’s NPFL its gonna make a whole lot of things. The motivation by Dana Air is a great improvement. you see by next match there is going to be a big turn up. People want to win more. You know I had this experience when I went for trials in Switzerland and at the end of the month a fan went home with a car. You see how people troop in because they expect to win something. So if an organization or individual here can donate say a car, bus or power generating set, more fans can turn up for matches.’

While a fan living in the outskirt of Uyo, Otobong Uko suggested free transport to convey fans to watch game. “We hope in subsequent editions to hear from more fans, football administrators and sponsors would state their plans to make football in NPFL better. Football is our game.”

Dissociate Labour Party from the meeting of Former president obasanjo and 35 political parties.

The attention of the Labour party has been drawn to a story published in the Punch and some national dailies about the meeting held in protea hotel, Lagos, anchored by former president olusegun obasanjo with former governors Rabiu kwankwaso (Kano) and others with the representatives of 35 political parties.

Of concern to us is the inclusion of the Labour party as part of the political parties in attendance.

As a party held in trust for the generality of the people of this great country, it is important for us to quickly debunk this falsehood and set the record straight.

We categorically declare our inclusion as false, labour party had no representatives in the said meeting and has no association with the coalition for Nigeria Movement in respect to the 2019 general elections. We are not part of any political merger.

We immediately request an amendment to the story as earlier written to reflect our parties position

We also enjoin our media friends to endeavor to confirm such stories or any other sensitive information from the official spokesperson of the party before going to the press.

Our party is currently repositioning for the onerous task of presenting Nigeria with a better alternative to the present government that has not satisfied the yearnings of the majority people.

CHUKS @ 30!!! [[/b]b]Ali Baba, Falz, Lasisi Elenu, M.I, RMD Thrill Abuja Audience At Generally Speaking Concert.


The federal Capital city was literally lit up recently when the Generally Speaking With Chuks D General took centre stage at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton.  It was fun galore as the comedians on the bill led by Ali Baba made sure they cracked so many ribs at the star- studded show. ‎

2018 Generally Speaking event marked the 30 years birthday of Abuja Spontaneous Comedian Chuks D General and 30 years on stage of Nigeria's King of Comedian Ali Baba, his godfather in the showbiz indusry. In truth, the 3rd edition of the show recorded ground-breaking attendance as the hall was filled to capacity.

A fusion of Abuja based comedians and Lagos based artists held the audience spell-bound throughout the show. Abuja arts such as Short Cut and others ‎performed and the audience screamed with delight. ‎One after the other, the Lagos artists comedians including‎ Alibaba, AY comedian, Seyilaw, Funnybone, Acapella and the instagram sensation Lasisi Elenu, came on stage to thrill the guests. The Legendary RMD Nigeria's formost actor was ushered onto the stage amidst loud cries of excitement from his teeming fans.‎

One of the high points of the event was Ali Baba's introduction on stage by Lasisi Elenu as he acknowledged Chuks D General as his boy while celebrating his 30 years on stage and celebrating Chuks D General 30 years birthday. Other celebrities around added spice to the show just by making an appearance.

In his opening remarks during the show, the man behind the evening, Chuks D General said the hosting the show was a double celebration especially in marking his day and his role model in the industry, King Ali Baba. He said that the reason behind the show was to appreciate his fans and also build a brand that will stand the test of time. He set the mood of the audience electrified with the introduction of his parents on stage.‎
